Quick tip: using the two ATB bar Point Blank ability does a lot more damage than maximum fury for those wanting to take out the enemies even quicker

@@Monty2289 His lifeblood cannon does about 45% more damage than 2 ATB charges of point blank, and you can do it from very far away and it can't miss, which is something that often happens with point blank because it has such small range and barret runs really slow. But of course it comes at the cost of half your current health, which is dangerous in hard mode, but there's a way you could work around it. Iron skin lowers it to something like 38% of your health, and if you use manawall, the one that halves magic damage, it lowers it even more, making lifeblood cannon only use about 17.5% of your health. So you can do a very tanky build that makes it more safe to use lifeblood cannon.

Oh man I'm so glad you mentioned having guides for Remake as well. These guides have REALLY helped me towards Rebirth Plat. Only 8 more Legendary Sim fights. I had to modify this one because my timing just sucks on the turtle. I ended up going with fafnir rifle instead of Gatling gun, linked fire and ice elemental to it, fire elemental armor, then fire linked to magic efficiency, mp absorb, and hp absorb, then first strike, magic up, enemy skill, and atb boost. You can pretty much spam Fira that way (which heals you) and stay at full mp. The interesting thing about that last fight is the hell rider uses reflect, so just cast fire or Fira when you need heals (keep in mind your mp will deplete eventually here because you’re not doing damage). Use physical attacks to eventually stagger him and save your limit breaks and/or ice magic for that time.

Great guide as always. Because I suck at perfect blocking I dropped Precision Defense Focus and added HP Absorb (and moved HP Absorb + Enemy Skill to a linked slot). I then cast Plasma Discharge after Steel(fore)skin in the rotation each fight. It didn't do much for the turtle (as it tends to stay our of range) but on the others I was getting heals constantly.

I endorse the HP Absorb change, for sure. I was getting absolutely wrecked by the Adamantoise until I tried the HP Absorb switch. Basically go for broke with Fira that round because you don't really need it for Round 5, and the like (I think?) 750 HP I was getting back for each Fira cast was enough to offset some of the damage I kept taking. Plus, I took the advice from another post here to gamble by blowing another ATB on Focused Shot at one point to really jack up the Pressure bar and reduce the amount of hits I'd eventually have to take.

So for anyone still struggling with the turtle I suggest putting Hp absorb instead of mp absorb since we only use mp on round 4, also to increase your defense i put 2 vitality up instead of mp up. Highly recommend using these, i won on first try!

Thank you so much! Some tips I have to offer are: don't forget about "Turbulent Rage", gives you a mini-haste of sorts, and "Focused Shot" when enemies are pressured will greatly raise their stagger bar. I found using focused shot much more efficient in the 5th round, plus I also got there with full MP after getting back 30% at the end of the 4th round. The key here is: don't hesitate to unload all your firas on the adamantoise if it means a safer run.

Great tip. Thanks for sharing. Between this and someone mentioning using HP Absorb in another comment and yours about Focused Shot, I was finally able to get past that damn Adamantoise. Definitely much safer run that way. Getting it into stagger quicker reduces the amount of hits you take overall, and for me who absolutely sucks at blocking, that is critical.

Thanks man, your guides have been a life safer for hard mode. If anyone is having problems against in round 4 like I did, I traded Chakra for ATB Boost for this challenge and it helped a ton against the turtle cause I was able to immediately use Fira the Steel Skin at the start. If you need health against Hell Rider II, then take advantage of his reflect by using Fira to heal you instead of Chakra.

Yea i dont think they realised, the goal is not to stagger him as soon as possible like most seem to be doing, its actually to find a way to keep him pressured as that stops the missiles, and this does that ;) It actually took me a few hours before I recognised that the missiles stop when pressured, then was just a little bit of trial and error to figure out how to keep him pressured ;)

Although it took about 2 hours of trying, I was able to finally beat this Legendary Bout for Barret thanks to your guide. I really had to get used to the Adamantoise attacks to be able to block these to build ATB. Then I just followed your instructions to do Fira whenever the Adamantoise is not pressured then go from there. I wasn't as worried or stressed for this challenge compared to the Brutal Challenges specially the last one. In any case, on to Tifa's challenge. Will review your videos first and then follow the script! And once again, THANK YOU!

Thank you again! I am not very good at blocking so I switched to barrage blaster little less damage and swapped out chakra and enemy skill for healing plus swiftcast. It has less damage but also has overcharge protection but also has trade off so when I was getting slapped around I was getting my mp back and healing for full health. This was helpful because while it was nice to try the double chakra thing it was hard to sometimes generate the full atb being low in health. For the turtle using turbulent spirit while it’s a short lived one time ability was useful for atb generation to regularly pressure. On to your next video!

All these guides are honestly god tier, the strategies used are simple and effective, i honestly wish i had these when i first did them, they're so much easier to use. Don't suppose you'd be willing to put together a setup for the final bossess on Hard, from lifeclinger onwards? It's a real gauntlet and requires everyone, so standard three party setups don't work quite as well and you need to spread out all the good stuff depending on what character fights what.

Using your strategy, I took 3 hours to get through this one. The only hiccup for me was the adamantoid in round 4. He killed me over and over again. My first time killing adamantoid, I made sure not to need to again by winning round 5, 1st time.

Since Barret's Fira does relatively little damage, a max Magic Efficiency Materia would be preferable to MP Absorption. It looked like the MP being absorbed was equivalent to a 2-star Magic Efficiency Materia.

if you use chakra twice immediately you get the full heal from both casts, which gets bak 80% missing hp. It's pretty useful.

If you're having trouble with MP for healing and to cast fira, I highly recommend using the barrage blaster weapon, as I believe that's the only weapon that has the trade-off weapon skill, which recovers MP from taking enough damage. About every 330 damage you take recovers 1 MP, but each individual hit has to deal at least 330 damage otherwise it will not recover MP. So if you take 660 you'll heal 2 MP at once, and 990 damage will heal 3 MP.

I decided to try the magic way - worked wonders - was struggling before. Build: Materia: Weapon: Fenrir rifle (enhanced elements, limit break +10%, enhanced oc, attack +20) Elemental+Fire&Ice, Magic Focus + Fire, Magic up, STR up Armor: Cetran Bracer Elemental + Fire, Magic Focus + Fire, MP absorb + Fire, Chakra, Enemy skill. Basically limit break + OC the first round Second phase: turbulant spirit, steelskin. Then just spam attack/abilities Third: eyes closed with the absorb.. Fourth: Turbulant, fira, overcharge, limit, firaga, repeat Fifth: Basically the same tactics
