That March was lit AF, and they did the original justice with this one, I kept redoing until I got it perfect, that part actually made me feel for the Shinra troops, I hope we meet the 7th division again, I've never been in the military but I kinda understand it, that bonding felt awesome 😅

​@kevinburke1325 Weird controller maybe? Try removing and re-adding it? The rhythm isn't exact for sure, many of the presses are on half or even quarter-steps, but the visual cues are on point

@@kevinburke1325 could be slight input delay, so you have to press just before the "precise" part. Most people, popular streamers included, realized they were having the same issue. Likely PS5 screaming at everything going on in the parade scene vs. practice.

Pretty crazy that they used CGI cutscenes in certain moments. I could barely tell the difference.

The character faces look really different, I really prefer the in the in-game models, the CGI ones look a little weird. It's funny how we've reached the point where the character models look so good that I prefer it over the CGI ones. (they're both CGI but you know what we mean)

Even though they are technically considered the bad guys, I feel that had Yuffie not interfered, a lot of good could have been done between Cloud's people and Rufus' people. Rufus Shinra was not his father. Basically, he was an amalgam of Marvel's Kingpin and DC's Lex Luthor. It was his city, and his word was law, armies built, supersoldiers created, but the very worst elements were kept away by his bad elements. He had his codes to live by, and he was more businessman then politician. If a cost effective way could have been found to make his city flourish without damaging the world around it, he would have been willing to listen to options, unlike his father. All the members of Avalanche, Aerith, Red, and Cloud would have had their lives back, under a new clean slate. If Cloud had completed his mission, which he was planning to do anyway, it would have been all he had to do... No more side missions, no time wasted during which Sephiroth could complete his plans with the meteor... he more than likely would have had the full support of the Midgar Seventh Infantry along with him on the mission, and the full resources of Shinra at his back. I believe Rufus would have stood up to his word, not as a good guy, but, rather, because it would have been good for business, and, a deal is a deal. While not friends, the now defunct members of Avalanche would have had an in with Rufus, as allies, at the very least, to help give him alternatives to the advice given to him by Hojo and Scarlet, and the like, possibly steering Shinra away from the mistakes it made to cause future tragedies. Barret probably would have had a government position where he could be another advisor to Rufus, to counter the agreed stance of his other, more radical advisers, and possibly temper his actions. Red would have been given protected sanctuary to try to rebuild his race. Aerith would have her life back, possibly with recompensation for her and her mother's abuse at Hojo's hands. As a limited resource, she might have had to give blood and hair samples once a month for Shinra's scientists to study, but, otherwise, she would have been a free citizen. Cloud seemed favored and respected by the commander, her aide, and the SOLDIER military in general, and, through the Commander, could have influenced future SOLDIER recruits to favor honorable practices, rather then their more brutal practices of the past. Possibly he could have risen to a new commander, most likely with Tifa at his side, in time, and, while having to follow Shinra's orders, he could still make certain to influence the old and new generations of soldiers for the least damage to people or property carrying them out. As long as he/they showed favorable results, Rufus probably would have allowed them to do things their way. The second Yuffie tried to assassinate Rufus with her giant throwing star, injuring Heidegger in the process, who showed his loyalty by saving Rufus' life, a number of things happened, all at one time: A: Rufus believed Avalanche had formed an agreement with Wutai to assassinate him. B: Rufus could no longer know if he could ever trust any of the three of them, or anyone allied with them. He showed them his trust, and they stabbed him in the back. In this, not only was there a possability that he could have made a mistake in judgement about their character, but, once his trust was lost in their loyalty, he could no longer afford to give them a second chance. C: Heidegger was there to witness the offer of pardon, before he was injured saving Rufus. This caused Rufus to lose face in front of his staunchest ally. From that point on, he had to maintain a show of strength by crushing Avalanche utterly. D: The look of absolute disappointment Rufus gives them before he leaves shows he had wanted to end things peacefully, and he had misjudged their character utterly. The blood spilled by Heidegger made them another Sephiroth who had spilled his father's blood, and they needed to be taken down, just as he needed to be. At this one, crucial moment, all hope was lost for a peaceful end to things, now, and in the future.

@@stevendouglas3781 The thing most people don't understand is, Sephiroth killing Rufus' father caused such as state of fear and horror in Rufus, that that is his whole motivation for making a new age... to have absolute control, overcompensating for when he had absolutely none when his father was assassinated. The assassination attempt on his life, seeing the blood spraying from the closest person to him in an attempt to save his life, and the fact that they were just about to give Wutai the finger with their canon as a harmless show of force, just to have a Wutai weapon be the thing that almost assassinated him, right when he was talking to three people he could only presume were involved, as a result of their being there in the first place, was the absolute worst thing that could possibly have happened. You have to think the Whispers manipulated things to force Yuffie to be their secret weapon to force an inescapable linchpin in time to correct the timeline, and that everything that happened in her life, and to everyone she knew, to that point, was all their mechinations.

Somestimes while the driect approach is always the logical thing that isnt the grand scheme of what the timeline is. The game has like two or so different things going on. Unlike the orginal which never at all touches alternate universes or even the thought of it. We had those what ifs as fans, the absurd parodies and even fan fiction. The theories are that the whispers are trying to force the story into how the orginal is back of the og series. But due to extreme interferences its slits up alot of things. Which is why Zach is up and running

Good write up, but it’s a bit idealistic. It’s very unlikely a favorable arrangement would have continued after Cloud’s team “finished” their mission. They’re too strong, too independent, and too dangerous to be left alive and the same could be said of the likes of Hojo. So at best Avalanche would have been given useless jobs to keep them busy and far away or at worst given dangerous jobs that would get them killed or assassinated. This is what has historically happened in real world history whenever a big government strikes a deal with a strong willed mercenary force. So there’s no way in hell any of Avalanche get government jobs. This is a divide and conquer strategy by Rufus.

Think that can't be failed because of story reasons. I didn't fail the performance so I can only assume it plays out that Rufus notices Cloud, Tifa and Aerith in the crowd so Midgar gets the commendation out of "sympathy" for the reactor bombings, the plate dropping etc just so Rufus can make the deal

But I thought maybe they have a bit different kind of dialogues for the bad result, like maybe Cloud suspecting something and Rufus just tells him "Your performance wasn't great as a Soldier, but meh, I just want to speak to you"

Rufus is the same rotting fruit from the same rotting true. You think Rufus would just drop things after Sephiroth is gone? I mean Sephiroth is at the whole heart of this all. Shinra pretty much destroyed Wutai so it's understandable that she'd try to assassinate him.
