Dirge of Cerberus? I don't remember the GAMEPLAY being that good but it brought up some interesting plot points, and also kind of fleshed out Vincent's backstory including the origin of his powers. It also introduced Deep Ground which we got a glimpse of in Integrade.

Great Story for old time gamers. 1998 I am playing through FF7 for the first time. All my characters are lvl 35. I literally just ran through the content as fast as I could, without realizing how under leveled I was. I hit the final Sephiroth battle, since I am so low level I only get 3 characters. Cloud, Vincent, Tifa. Battle begins, I am doing okay, but burning through cure and mana and potions really fast. Finally I transform Vincent into his Giga form(Frankenstein form). That form has a little life steal on hit. Sephiroth uses meteor, I am amazed by the animation, I am also horrified when everyone dies except Vincent. And if you don't know Vincent when transformed can't use any other skills and basically auto battles. This lasts indefinitely. He survives with a sliver of health, Giga Dunk! Gets some health back. This continues for about 3 mins...my mom calls me for dinner and is not having the, "Be there in a sec I am playing a game." I leave the game scarf down some food, about 10mins, and run back to see my Giga Dunking Vincent is still alive. 5 mins later, he Giga Dunks Sephiroth one last time finishing him off. The AI literally beat the game for me. This is why since that day Vincent has been my favorite FF character of all time. God bless you Vincent.

We'll probably get him in the next intergrade. Intergrade is a word meaning to transition from one to the next. Remake intergrade showed us yuufie and set us up for some of the lore bits with deep ground and a hint to the new combat. I'm sure Vincent's intergrade will be him doing research into sephiroth and finding out more about hojo and deep ground which will make him decide to hunt down and kill hojo(the orginal reason he joined us in 7.) Which is when he meets up with the party. Especially with all the deepground stuff involved only yuffie Vincent and reeve.

Well Vincent was painted with each of the qualities of the trope of an edgelord. He's a broken man betrayed and experimented on but he is also a regular dork who seemed to have a problem with Technology. Ps1 Cloud is a bit more insufferable because he's supposed to be similar with the usual silent protagonists but he also becomes rude here and there without reason as the story progresses. At Least the remakes gave him an actual personality which is a guy who thought he was special but slowly opens up with his insecurities.

Barret does decent damage. He would be OP if he did a lot because he has the highest defense & HP and fastest ATB. He's supposed to be used as a Tank character. Which is why he has things like Lifesaver. Heal everyone with prayer, revive the fallen, use Phoenix summon with him. You cant lose with him. For me he IS the best party member.

Correct. I like to compare it to the Hobbit films. That was originally one book, but they turned it into a trilogy of movies. The same is being done here with FF7. They are taking portions of the game, and expanding upon them. Fleshing out sequences from the original, adding in more lore, diving more into the story of existing characters, and even adding all together new ones who are equally as likeable as the rest of the OG cast (in most cases). Some people are upset its not all done in one game. But me personally, I think this was even better. The third game is probably going to be one of the best RPGs ever made. Rebirth alone was already near perfection.

Just think, Vincent and Yuffie were just optional characters that just existed most of the time in the original game, we already saw what they did with Yuffie in Rebirth so imagine what they could do with Vincent in Part 3.

Didn't Vince and Cait Sith already meet in the events of Dirge of Cerebrus?

Those events are part of the old original timeline, and wouldn't have happened for a few years yet at this point in the story. If I remember right, Dirge takes places just after Advent Children, which takes place a couple years after the original FF7 story. A few Dirge bosses have already been recycled into the new chronology, so I'm curious what other elements get used going forward.
