Your elemental materia didn’t do anything because you needed to attach it to the that has the bridge in the first two slots or you are just having it as a decoration

I barely beat this guy, Tifa and Aerith were both down and I had around 900hp left with cloud and I had a cross slash limit to beat him lol

Cloud and Arieth was down and Tifa had 500hp and I was bailed out by Ifrit

The exact same thing happened to me. Had to use Cloud's Limit Break, relentless Fira's and constant Ethers, Ifrit near the end as he started wailing on the girls I just let them be sponges healing up and casting while I wailed on him with Cloud, remembering to Ether up and Heal where possible. He was down to like 5% when both girls finally went down and it became desperate as I couldn't waste moves on Phoenix Downs or Raise as Cloud was fading out too. He'd just kill Aerith and Tifa when they'd get revived before they had a chance to heal up. Limit Breaks and Ifrit were used up. So just went full Punisher on him and prayed he'd go down before Clouds HP was gone. A Braver finished him. Very close call.

The same exact thing happened with me Tifa and Aerith were down and I only had 257 left with Cloud and Ifrit was departing and his last hit dropped the beast! Lol My heart was beating out of my chest!! Haha

Using Arith’s Arcane Ward will give anyone standing in the circle the ability to cast Fira twice Also casting Fira while he is on the wall will make Abzu fall down

like people i swear doesnt read abilities of Aerith , they just go full melee boring playgame as cloud , Aerith is a powerhouse , Arcane Ward is sooo OP , unbrindle strengh 2x and release rise and fall !

Thanks man, great idea to mostly use Cloud and use others as support. When I don't, Aerith ends up dying quickly... I think though it would be more efficient as a support character to have Magnify equipped on Aerith linked with Barrier. I use Tifa for the magic sleep which gives a little break to the team.

Thanks for the help! I actually didn’t get to summon Ifrit for the battle, but linking the fire element to my blade helped a ton (as well as using Aerith’s Arcane Wind to deal double shots of fire). It took me 4 tries before I watched your video, and only one try after :)

The most important thing to know is that you actually can dodge his pounce attack from above easily by repeatedly pressing dodge. No need to time the dodge. Just continuously keep dodging and he will miss pouncing on you. And when he is down from missing the pounce, have Cloud physically attack him. Save the Ifrit summon until the second phase, and Ifrit will take care of him with his skills and the massive damage he deals before he disappears. Anyway, the guy on this video's strategy rarely works for me. There's always a simpler solution than this guy's strategies, he doesn't think outside the box, and over-complicates. Getting pounced and healing is a stupid strategy here, and especially with magnify, which doesn't heal all that much, and heals very small amounts to all the allies.

What I did was use fire materia for both Aerith and Cloud. And I also put a sleep spell for Tifa. That made things a lot more easier especially with Ifirit.

Great tips really helped me fight abzu a lot quicker! Thank you!! I used aerith for cure (potion and materia) and barrier whenever yo u see abzu climb up. Equipped fire on both cloud and tifa and keep using, and then call in your summon when available and should do the trick. Not a hard boss as long as you dodge and time your spells correctly!

Here's my load out for the fight. Fire Materia on all 3 characters. Titanium Bangle on Cloud and Tifa. Studded Bracer on Aerith. Star Pendant on Tifa and Aerith. Champion Belt on Cloud and HP UP. Aerith have Magnify and Barrier. Start by casting Barier or ManaWall on Party.

"Elemental Materia" needs to be linked with an elemental materia such as Fira in order to work, you big silly goose.

Great advice man but for the elemental materia to work it has to be chain linked to your fire materia in this case . By you putting it in that third slot it actually did nothing for u

What I don’t get, is why you’re using Cloud as the Fira magic dealer when Aerith has almost double the magic damage? You also should have linked the elemental and fire together in a linked materia slot as you can see, your attacks weren’t hitting with the “weakness” notification. Also, you should have had Cloud use his limit during a stagger and then have Aerith use magic ward to double cast Fira.

I prefer him for building up ATB fast, plus he’s got better mobility to Aerith. Also, you don’t need to be too OP to beat Abzu. You just need the general tips I go through.

Release-Fire u didnt have fire on your sword tho because you did not have it linked . I dont know if u did this on accident , but it may misinform some ppl . But great tips none the less !

I absolutely suck at this game lol I only have one summoner My material is just level 2 Cloud is only at level 20. I felt I was doing good doing all side missions in previous sectors then I get to the hell house and This bastard and I can't beat him worth a damn and I am only playing on normal difficulty.

honestly, just spam dodge when he uses pounce, then go ham with tifa. rotate in some fira with cloud inside aeriths arcane ward and it should be easy. tifa carrying as always

This is a horrible set up, even though I lost the first time around, his poison attack OHKO’d my whole team for whatever reason. I think I’ll continue to add pressure instead of setting up and applying support to the team

My technique is to use Arcane Wand+Fira on Aerith. Elemental Materia with fire on Cloud. Then Tifa with ATB boost, cure and revival. And use IFRIT with Tifa as your main since she can gather ATB fast so you can spam Ifrit's 2nd skill
