I remember doing this mission. I had a harder time with that A-hole Behemoth. I had Barret as my healer (with chakra and prayer materia, I followed your guide about that), Cloud and Tifa as the attackers while I control Tifa. I failed several times on the Behemoth part, but beat Marlboro on my first encounter with it. This mission was quite fun for me. The one that really pissed me off were the Top Secrets. Lol. I think I'll try this mission again, applying your guide. Thanks.

Nice! This mission is one where a max'd out Cleansing materia can come in handy, because Resist can help a party member no-sell Bad Breath. I know your strategy here involves nuking the Marlboro down so hard it never gets the chance to cast Bad Breath to begin with, but it's useful for filling out Enemy Skill.

Wow. That's insane. I just finally got around to play FF7 Remake this week and just beat it today. When I fought the Behemoth it took a while to beat. Malboro actually was fairly easy. Just ran around with Tifa and pounded it. But that's incredible to see how fast they were brought down.

Your Tifa must be at god level. My Tifa’s Metal Knuckles have the same strength stat as what you showed in the menu at the start of the video, but she can only do a third the damage of what she’s doing in your videos and can’t knock out the Tonberry or Behemoth’s Upper Body before the Stop effect wears off. My characters are getting mutilated. 😕

This worked like a charm. For me the behemoth was a hard one! But what saved me was Aerith's limit break planet protector on the behemoth. It is a really fun challenge and I find myself repeating it again because of the challenge. Thanks for the strategy guide

Thanks for the guide. Died quite a few times to Behemoth as his lower body was doing damage to party members and many times hitting Tifa away. Then by the time I do stagger, someone is already dead and can’t do enough damage on the horns to break before stagger ends. But once I did get lucky enough to not die on Behemoth back legs, then the rest of the fights went well can cleared it.

If you only have 2 refocus materia (since you gain the 3rd from this battle), try warding + subversion materia linked instead of the lightning and another rando materia to avoid the insta kill with Cloud. Tonberry seems to always go after him. EDIT: Finally finished the fight. Used the warding/subversion tactic, it helped me out with that second tonberry. Also got the enemy skill done for Malboro.

For cloud with the time materia, I gave him the tarot cards accessory. Makes the stop status last longer, which is especially good on type-0 behemoth and malboro and tonberry. And I had an asses on tifa and enemy skill on cloud so I could get full data and bad breath skill from malboro. Other than that, I managed to beat it after a few adjustments to tactics, especially after viewing this vid.

Found the round after behemoth the hardest. Took out the Tonberry first in the end. Also to get the Enemy Skill I swapped out that lighting for a Curaga on cloud and tanked just enough before burning it down in 3:57. Thanks! Two trophies!

Totally not loving the fact getting bad breath is rng as well I do find however that the behemoth is the one to watch out for especially when his tail shake could almost 1 shot either tifa or cloud when attempting to ray blast it with aerith Thanks again

Thanks for this. If you don't want to deal with the nonsense from the Tonberry, put a mastered Warding + Subversion materia on one party member and keep control of them so Tonberry focuses that character. On round 4, defeat the Tonberry first as the bomb will keep healing you up and the bomb poses very little threat compared to the Tonberry if you have Fire + Elemental in your armour on two party members. I managed to beat this challenge on my 2nd try using tips from this guide, I lacked the big burst damage required to take down the Behemoth quickly and lost to that on my 1st try. The main differences on my setup was the inclusion of two Healing materia, one Cleansing (for last round), Enemy Skill + HP Absorb on Cloud and my choice of weapons + accessories. Weapons: Buster Sword, Silver Staff, Sonic Strikers. Accessories: Champion Belt, Circlet, Circlet. This is a much slower run and you will take some hits, however, it may be easier to pull out a win if you're struggling with the yolo team.

Great tutorial for people who have problems with it, the Malboro itself is quite easy though just circle around with Tifa and hit him in the back he will not hit Tifa with his bad breath as long as you circle around behind him, just have to make sure that he does not hit the other two with it´s bad breath when he turns to catch Tifa. The fights before are the bigger issue and for that this guide is golden. Thanks for the effort.

Damn that Behemoth was random. I found cheesing uppercut/divekick combo as the only way to damage upper/lower parts fast enough, avoid standard attacks when playing Tifa here if you can. Malboro was so easy I generously left him an inch of health just to let him teach me Bad Breath skill (sacrificed Cloud as a punishment for being killed by Tonberry so many times xD). This been a major help. Thnx mate. Spent way more time doing this fight than I expected. Now onto the top secrets...

It's probably a little late to say this but after failing the fourth fight using this guide from some bad rng. Then failing the third fight the second time using this guide due to rng. I want to point out that in the Behemoth fight Blitz cripples the lower body while it is still stunned. I just barely can't, and both Cloud and Tifa are absolutely destroyed by the tail swipe. I'm going to try again but this time have Cloud cast stop on the lower body right as we take out the upper body. Hopefully that will increase chances of success. For as soon as the horns are gone this fight is over.

One thing I rarely or even never see people use is Resist from the Cleansing materia. It especially helps during the Marlboro fight if you're trying to get the Enemy Skill. I didn't suffer from Bad Breath's status ailments but was still able to learn the skill. I didn't think it'd work but it did! I was quite surprised myself. (I'm on an FF7R guides watching spree lol. I miss this game...)

The Behemoth was my nightmare, I fought it countless times, I had it easy crippling his upper body but it almost knocked me every time with its tail or legs when I was focusing the lower body, and when I finally managed to did that, I didn't got in time breaking the horns and when it revitalizes itself it pwned me every time. I did manage to beat Behemoth the first time I managed to break the horns, and then the Bomb Tonberry duo and the Marlboro were pretty easy. I even managed to steal the enemy skill from it before I struck him. Thanks for the guide!

Couple things I learned from playing this challenge a ton, maybe they've been mentioned already. Hopefully they'll help if anyone is still struggling On the first tonberry fight, I found it worked more consistent to switch to cloud after the blizaga. He seemed to get shanked a lot more often, but tifa was better at dodging the knife attack. On the tonberry/bomb fight, I found the first blizaga on the bomb kept screwing me later. Tonberry would use his ranged instant death attack (can't remember the name of it) when I went to blizaga him. Note, if he's using chef's knife you can time a second blizaga without dying from it. So I found pressuring the bomb with tempest and using focused thrust and focused strike staggered him really fast, so my party would leave tonberry alone, and I could use the blizaga every time on tonberry. Was more consistent of a method for me. Still, amazing guide, impressed the hell outta my wife watching everything go down so fast

It took me two tries to get Bad Breath. I didn't get it the first time, and it took three times as many tries to get to Malboro the second time. I kept getting kicked by Behemoth Type-0, then either finished off by the tail or, due to being punted halfway across the arena, I would fail to finish off his back side quick enough to stun lock him before he took out Cloud or Aerith in two hits. And then, for some reason, both a Bomb and a Tonberry proved even more troublesome than the Behemoth. But the second time I managed to get to Malboro (after I finally realized: don't stand BEHIND the Behemoth's back leg) I got Bad Breath. It took Cloud out, even though I cast Resist before it did it, but I still finished it off with Tifa and Aerith. Then I found out I still had one Corneo arena fight I hadn't done, the one that unlocks after beating the game, so I had to do 90% of Chapter 9 AGAIN! That was probably the fifth time I did Chapter 9 (or as I like to call it, Chapter Nein) this New Game+, but now Pride and Joy is unlocked, I'm just taking a break, calming down and preparing, y'know?

The problem with the malboro fight is that if you want to get the platinum, you have to learn its skill, you must get hit with its bad breath so you learn it, when I did this fight I had to get hit 3 times and dont forget to equip the enemy skill materia.

I find maxed out Subversion linked with maxed out warding materia prevents those instant kills from Tonberry

I need you to tell me how you got 8 materia slots on you’re hardedge sword and I was only able to get 4

You need to get 250+SP to unlock the final core which usually has the extra materia slots. You get over 250 by doing everyone on normal including VR Challenges and colliseum challenges. Then you can play hard mode chapters select to get a quick easy 10 SP. Cloud chapter 8 fight with Reno. Tifa chapter 3 defeat wrath hound, aerith I forget. Barret guard scorpion chapter 1

Dude my mistake for the refocus materia being in the video but you guys are acting like it's the most important piece to beating this lol. The refocus materias are just fillers. You can have literally anything else in there you want.

@@BltzZ This is true, I did it without the thrid refocus, it's only an extra cherry on top for damage but not mandatory. To be honest, without the lighting materia on cloud as well. Great guide!

This challenge really need pure luck, i've been gone to Round 3 and everything was fine until Round 4 came. I keep making wrong aim on the target and ended up attacking Tonberry instead, i was lucky doing this 2-3 times straight and doing fine until Round 3 but always end up with the same mistake on Round 4. Edit: Thank god, after a few of tries i've finally beat 'em. These sh** are tricky as hell. Thanks a lot man!

Good to hear dude! I got the top secrets guide as well on the channel if you need it. Be sure to have elemental materia with fire on your armor slot as a backup just in case towards the end! Tomberry fight is sometimes glitchy, when the aga spell blows him in the air while stopped, he stays on air and no one can attack him, when normally Tifa hit enemies in the air in this case she hits down like if the tomby was down, thats why I say its glitchy!

I have 2 refocus materias how do I get the 3rd? I can see the game gives u 1 for beating three person team vs monsters of legend but wouldn't make sense that being the 3rd refocus materia since people watching most likely haven't beaten it yet since they're looking up a build 2 beat it so where do I get a 3rd refocus materia?

I appreciate the guide a lot, I use your builds as a foundation and strat to beat this. I also found it easier to target the tonberry on the 4th fight than the bomb, clouds ai insist on fighting it 🤣. So I just reuse the strat on the 2nd fight to kill it off and it was easy.

I can't get pass Tonberry anymore. After I lost to the Tonberry and Bomb, It takes me out within a minute after the first encounter. Am I missing something here? My stagger bar does not go up as fast as it does in the video. I'm lucky it gets halfway before someone gets killed by doom and gloom or chef's knife.
