How many years ago would you say this flashback is? Tseng at 4:57 looks exactly the same as he does in present time for the remake. Say it takes place 15 years ago, was Tseng 20 here and that would make him 35 at the start of the remake? If so, he didn't age at all. Also, is checking up on the last living ancient a job you'd give a young new Turk if that's what Tseng was at the time? To that point, in 10 years or so when Crisis Core occurs, Tseng is depicted as a young Turk with a short ponytail. Granted he would have had enough time to regrow his hair in the five years that occurred before the start of the remake. But rather it seems as if the game creators didn't focus on any continuity when it came to Tseng. I suppose I just wanted him to look different in the flashback, as even Aerith's adopted mother appeared younger. But it was as if the game didn't care to make an effort with him at all.

I got a theory... Ever wondered why Cloud is the only person who can talk to both Aerith and Zack after they died? Well, in this scene we can see that Aerith is been talking to the man that Elmyra once loved and he died from the war, and Aerith is an Ancient. We never knew who is Cloud's father, in my theory Cloud's father was probably an Ancient too just like Aerith. He left his race and live like a normal human being until he meet Claudia. He and Claudia fell in love and conceive a baby boy and they name him Cloud. Well all know that the Ancient race has been hunt down and killed for generations, in order to protect Cloud, his father left when Cloud was just a baby and told Claudia that to keep the secret about the Ancient. Cloud never realize he is also an Ancient. This is probably the reason why Cloud has the ability to talk to the people who died, just like Aerith. That's my theory guys. What do you think guys?

Him overpowering Sephiroth at the reactor) but also low key hate it a bit cause its kinda almost sue-ish like Ichigo (Cloud being basically both part Ancient, and being someone Jenova-enhanced despite deemed not being cut out for it officially) Tbh I always just felt some individuals just could be more sensitive to this than others, especially when FF7 Humans are really just an offshoot of Ancients who gave up being semi-nomadic

It's not impossible... I mean many of Cloud's more 'tripy' moments (even in the originall FF7) haven't given much of an explanation. Personaly, I would like this theory to be true - Though, I am more leaning towards Cloud having Ancient ancestry rather than be an Ancient himself. I also like the idea of Cloud never learning about it, it somehow gives one more interesting layer in the story.

She didn't used to wear them prior to her meeting Zack, that pink ribbon was a gift that he gave her as thanks for technically saving him when he fell through the roof of the church where Aerith's flower garden is in CC. So yep. "Little Aerith" techinically shouldn't have the ribbon cuz, "teenage Aerith" was supposed to receive it from Zack. But at this point, if you already get the drift of how this remake is going, they mess with the timeline a lot and you'd understand more once you finish the game. Some heart wrenching and mind boggling shit happens in the ending that practiaclly gives Square Enix clearance to do whatever the fuck they want now. Our knowledge from the original games no longer applies unfortunately.

I don't think it's a coping mechanism at all or any kind of a front to protect herself. In my opinion, what it seems to be saying is that Aerith INHERENTLY has a beautiful, pure heart. She still manages to be happy, cheerful, and always looking at the bright side of situations DESPITE the tragedies she's had to endure her entire life. It's how she lives her life and how she touches the lives of everyone else around her. As another example, she's clearly hurt about her past relationship with Zack, but despite all that, what does she tell Cloud? That's it's better to look forward and not backwards. That's just who Aerith is, why some of us find her so admirable.

I honestly was getting a bit bored in the first part of the game, having second thoughts, felt too linear, wheres the story?. Then this scene came up and knew the rest of the game was going to get more real. And it did

I just noticed something in Remake. In chapter 11, Young Aerith has a pink ribbon on her hair. However, she doesn’t have that in the OG FFVII. In Crisis Core, Zack gives Aerith a pink ribbon.

Used to get tears when (in the original) to tear up when she mentioned the passing of her husband. This brought the entirety of the scene to down right bawling. Fuck you Final Fantasy VII and your emotional roller coaster. Both then......and now worse.

She's always weared ribbons as a child even in OG. I guess it's just the pink colour some people are up in arms about? I don't think it matters in any sense really.

The original for me had more emotional power ...it was more subtle because there were no voice overs and you can focus on the music swelling......the music was too subtle this time around. Still it's great to see the game get redone......I hope they don't mess up clouds character redemption arc.......it's the greatest n game history
