I remember in the original. The first time you cast Knights of the round you're like "Wow! This is badass". Then after casting it dozens of times and use Quadruple and mimic you're like "Mum, I'm in the middle of a boss fight, can I help you with the laundry?" Ahhhh good times.

Superegular you know what could be more interesting? “Finding the Knights of the Round in parts.” And when you find them all, his summon will change and you will unlock his ultimate attack. That way players don’t go round getting to use the summon all the time.

Best way I found to fight Bahamut without having to rush: Get Barret to 9999 HP. Spam ATB attacks with Cloud and Barret. After the count reaches 1 and before 0, use Barret’s Steelskin, cast manaward on him, and make sure his health is 100% before the blast. He’ll survive it like a cockroach then cast Arise on Aertih. Barret draws fire away from Aerith while she revives Cloud. Hack and slash a little longer and you got him!

Bahamut is tough but you can get him first time through I got him before I went up to the plate. The trick is to have revive earrings on all of your guys. At least one person has to survive the megaflare attack. It will most assuredly kill you at this level. The earrings will auto revive you afterward. Don't let him do it a second time.

I still remember the Fat Chocobo when he randomly appears from the Chocobo Summon from the original FF7, my best memory was when I was fighting the Diamond Weapon and I got Fat Chocobo to arrive instead of the regular Chocbunkle attack. It looked funny as the Fat Chocobo took up the entire size of Diamon Weapon but Diamond's two head weapons were sticking out from the side of the Fat Chocobo's head.

I have all three of the extra summons since preordering the First Class Edition (which for me was totally worth it!) I do find it ridiculous though that Carbuncle is the only support summon available for the game, and it is locked behind a preorder code. He's come in clutch and saved my ass a bunch of times so far; it stinks that people will be missing out on the experience if he doesn't become available as dlc (which should be free IMO). Locking aspects of a game behind a pay wall/preorders is a despicable practice, and I don't think people should feel like they're lacking the complete game experience if an element of the game is left out due to some conditional exclusivity.

Chocobo Chick does more than thunder damage. It actually has all of the elemental spells available as ChocoFire, ChocoBlizzard, ChocoThunder, ect. All for one ATB cost. ChocoFlare is its ultimate and it is non-elemental damage.

There weren't many bosses that could survive my Stagger, Cross Clash, Infinity's end, Maximum Fury, Ifrit Hellfire combo. I unlocked 3 summons in total, but Ifrit just prooved himself too useful to be ditched.

In the original Final Fantasy 7 we didn't get Leviathan or Bahamut till much later in the story. Bahamut was obtained by defeating the red dragon at the Cetra Shrine and Leviathan was obtained by defeating Godo in Wutai. Both happen well after leaving midgar.

Great video, except that you glossed over the main point of info for Carbuncle entirely. ;p What does that barrier do? Is it just a stronger version of the basic spell that reduces magic damage? Or does it actually bounce spells off like in the older games? I really want to know because, if it bounces spells off, then that could mean some new strategies, like maybe a quicker kill against Eligor by entering the battle with red health, pulling the Carbuncle summon ASAP, then bouncing Curaga (including one with Magnify, maybe?).

Barrier reduces Physical damage by 1/2. Manaward reduces Magic damage by 1/2. Manawall is both.

I'm only missing chocobo and moggle I'm currently replaying the game to get him again. I seriously love this game. The story telling is amazing and the characters are well written and have their own traits and personality. For example I found Barret irritating at first but then I started to like him more and more because despite of his annoyance the guy has a solid heart and is awesome.

Pass this on if anyone had this same problem. I Pre-Ordered the dsigital delux edition but played the whole game and didn't get a DLC summon. I went back and found out that the Pre-Download only did the original game as well as the Music and Picture book. I had to go back to PS Store and still DL the Digital Delux Add-on manually. The very next time I opened the game it told me I had DLC to approve. Poof!

Dude. I think FF7 has the most impressive and most numerious summond of ALL of the franchise. But, where is Neo Bahamut, Bahamut ZERO, Kujata, Typhoon, Hades, Odin, Ramuh, Phoenix and Titan... Because lots of the story from the classic (even though it was opcional) you could get said summons, Odin is inside a haunted mansion with powerful mobs, Neo Bahamut and Bahamut ZERO were only achievable in sequence and the train stopping scene was important and having Cosmo Canyon storyline after rescuing Red XIII at Dr. Mojo's Lab was part of getting both Bahamuts. Typhoon was the only mystery to me because of the Golden Chocobo that could climb mountains and walk on water to get to it. So many things they left off of the game... lets see on the next updates what will happen

I really didn’t like how they did summons in this game. Only in bossfights, only in rooms that are big enough, only 1 time per fight. It felt way too scripted. I understand that they are too big and hard to program in other areas. But honestly in that case, I would’ve just prefered them to have the intro scene cutting straight to their ultimate attack. You can even cut to a random background. I’m fine with them just doing 1 attack. But at least make me feel like I’m in control of their usage like limit break. Other than that, designs are great. My favourite is still FFX’s ifrit tho ☺️

None of those Summons you mentioned were in the first disc of the original game so naturally it makes sense to have them in FF7R Part 2 & Part 3. Knights of Round isn't available until you've breeded a Golden Chocobo. The Remake is nowhere near that.

Small summons get triggered easily. He'll eventually trigger. Or you can equip everyone with big summons so the small ones don't steal the show.

How do the summons work? How come I can't choose which character summons. It seems random

You do get to choose. Once the Summon bar fills up you go to the character action menu for the summon and use the command and it will use whatever Summone Materia is attached to them.

Some summons can't be used in certain areas due to size.

The Choco chick uses all elements. Including thunder, plus is easy to summon in small fights, easily the best in the game.

Like in the original version they will most likely put Ramuh in the second part. The "ghost chariot" was an enemy in the OG version and became a bossfight in the remake (most likely to get the chance to steal the staff for Aerith)

actually you can mainly use some of tifa’s weapon abilities, the best one for stagger being true strike, dealing 30% stagger
