Summary of tips: 1. Use magnify materia with healing material, for example. Will heal all party members. Also, upgrade this materia as quickly as possible because it will increase its efficacy on all targets. You can also use magnify on attack materia as well. 2. Regen cancels out poison. You can use regen more cheaply than trying to cure your poison status. 3. Focus abilities. These abilities are made specifically for increasing pressure/stagger gauge. The damage isn't great, so don't use this on enemies that are already staggered. 4. Assess. If you've already assessed an enemy, you can press the map/touch-pad button to bring that assess window back up, free of charge. 5. Elemental materia. There are 2 of these in the game, and they are super powerful. Pair up with elemental materia, like fire, ice, or lighting -- elemental materia will put that effect on your weapon. Or, you can put it on your armor and half damage received by that element. Use this to great effect, like equipping ice+elemental on armor, then fighting Shiva. 6. Barrier materia. Level this up asap because you can learn Manawall, one of the best support spells in the game. 7. AP Up materia. 100% more AP points toward materia when linked up with a materia. 8. Barret. When holding down his basic square attack, he will stop to reload at some point. At this point, push the triangle button to help charge his overcharge ability for free. 9. Cloud. Berserker mode -- hold down square while in punisher mode to activate Berserker mode. You'll see a small Berserker icon in the ATB window. This increases Cloud's attack damage, but also damage received for a short period of time. A double-edged sword. 10. Cloud. Punisher mode --press triangle in operator mode when an enemy is about to attack to counterattack that enemy and change into punisher mode 11. Hold down square during a cut-scene to access the menu after cut-scene finishes so you can prepare properly before a boss fight. 12. Materia -- press R1 in materia menu to see all characters' materia equipment for simpler materia management. 13. L2 switches mini-map on/off

Once you get the prayer materia level that shit up. Love that materia, treat it nice, give it lots of exercise. Once its fully leveled it basically can restore your entire teams HP without using MP. Sure, it uses 2 ATB bars. Equip it to either Barret or Aerith and bam! You're healer can come in super clutch and it will allow you to pair Barrier with Magnify instead of healing materia.
@federicoalfero92874 жыл бұрын
Yeah. It's way better to save Magnify for Barrier. First strike+Magnify Manawall makes Hard Mode almost easy with Pray as party Heal.

I mean it'd be nice to have like a subchapter or something so you're not so tied down by the story while replaying, because honestly chapter 9 drags on and you can end up having to play it up to 4 times while trying to platinum. And no I'm not talking about cutscene's more like the psuedo-cutscenes where they jerk control of the camera away and force you to slow walk into a trigger or wait for dialogue to end.

My issue is that they’ll literally have you wandering around the ENTIRE map from sector 5 to 6 to 7 with the side quests because they won’t tell you where they are the like the (SPOILER ALERT, SPOILER ALERT) like the chokobo mission where you have to go around and find the three that escaped. Like they literally could’ve at least hinted to where they were on the minimal but no you had to go the actual stations and check from the station map where they might be

Combat tip for Tifa. You don't necessarily want to spend unbridled strength after building it up, it upgrades pretty much everything about her; her normal attacks, her abilities, her air combos, even her movement speed (I think). There are scenarios when unloading both levels of unbridled strength on an enemy is the best way to pressure them, but unless you know what they are it's better to just save it up until the enemy is staggered, then use it for a super combo because it builds up stagger damage. Something like True strike > True strike > Triangle > Triangle > Dive Kick or Starshower.

There's so many tip vids out there for all sorts of games, but rarely do they hit a certain kind of quality in terms of what sort of things the creator considers to be uncommon knowledge or worth sharing and so on. To temper the absurd praise of the first sentence, of course this isn't exactly mindblowing revolutionary information, but it just goes to show what a solidly made video from a guy really interested in helping people out and not just cheap content for clicks with pseudotips can do for someone's appreciation of you lol.

Remember that using Tifa's Unbridled strength is a pretty significant DPS increase, as it not only adds more attacks to her damage string and lets her build ATB quickly, it also gives her a small damage boost on all physical and magical attacks, which can be further enhanced by skills on certain gloves.

@Jonatron5034 жыл бұрын
I agree that learning the combat system is imperative (focus attacks: pressure-> stagger). They should’ve had some extensive combat simulation because it’s absolutely necessary to know about for hard mode. It’s also good to note that countering is good but doesn’t always leave an opening to mash the enemy- some enemies do multi-hit attacks and will annihilate Cloud if he tries to combo after a counter (hard mode will exploit cloud easily). Something that’s also good to know is that Tifa’s unbridled strength increases her basic combo as well as leading to her 3x ability combo. Having her at level 3 will allow her to build atb quickly and harass those annoying airborne enemies longer. Lastly, magic casting is great, but it’s most effective when used for staggering instead of spam-casting. It’ll be good to get in that habit if the player wants to try hard mode since items can’t be used at all (MP is scarce). Edit: Adjusting camera settings and lock-on can improve gameplay. I would suggest learning that early game so the player can get calibrated to it. I was used to having the camera auto-focus on my locked enemy and dealing with the terrible camera angles that when I adjusted it late-game, I found it too complicated.

For the reason you explained yourself, Id recommend linking the magnify materia with the barrier materia. I feel like if youre playing the game in the best way, healing characters one at a time is all you need. Of course theres times where this isnt the case, but its not as common as youd think, plus having the pray materia helps with this tremendously, especially when your healer has the healing carcanet equipped

Great video here are some tips I discovered on my side that u might not know: -U can skip cutscene by holding triangle and go to menu bar before boss fight by holding square. - if u go to menu options and select gameplay switch cursor position from forget to remember for both in and out of battle it will save u lot of time especially in battle if u want to reuse an ability twice instead of always having to scroll down from the top -in menu options again if u go to camera and controls set the combo targeting from fixed to free it makes a HUGE difference in your battles as you won't have to wait for your attack combos to end to be able to switch to another enemy you will be able to target another approaching one right away even if u didnt finished comboing the first. - u can survive dying from self destruct enemy skills if u pair subversion materia to a maxed out warding materia on your armor. If you want to make thing even more broken pair your enemy skills to hp absorbs and you actually can get HEALED from self destruct instead of dying!!!

Barret has a virtual First Strike ability if you know what you're doing. At the beginning of any fight with Barret, immediately use his Overcharge ability to rapidly fill up your ATB. Then you can immediately buff or use a special ability or spell to deal even more damage. If you pick the right abilities to lay the hurt on a foe, this will often put it very near death, if not outright kill it. Otherwise, it can help turn the tide of a fight early on with the right buff or debuff applied.

Like I said I already plat the game a year ago so almost no point watching this video but I enjoyed how you worded it all out! Good job man...

@Martin Davis Just to let you know i’m suffering against tonberry 😭😭, this game probably going to take so much of my time and i’m not getting the platinum any time soon that’s for sure. i’ve seen some helpful videos on youtube i should be good, it’s hard but doable.

I've got to be honest ladies and gentlemen, I am definitely one of the people that accidentally turned off the minimap and spent about an hour running around, pissed that I had to keep pulling up the damn map lol. I have since figured it out. But that last tip would have been great if I'd of seen this prior.

I needed that last tip! 😂 I disabled it and kept opening the larger map everything I got lost…it was very frustrating.

I don't know man... The ending was SO disappointing... I'm not an OG fan... Of course I know the highlights of the story tho. But this... Turning FFVII in timeline/dimensions/time-travel territory? With characters coming back to life? Zack's death was so meaningful, it's the main reason why Crisis Core is such a powerful game... What are they thinking? They can't think "surprise" is better than quality? Right? Right...? Because this is straight-up fanfiction level of narrative :\ And the worst part is that the rest of the game is SO GOOD. Damn...

@@marinomele4575well i like the new heading personally, although its not an actual remake anymore, but clearly Square Enix is not making the game for people that didnt play the original dozen times at least, which i understand why, its like "let me tell you a new story except this one is which not like the one you read hundreds of times in the past already" kind of ideal, those that dont like the heading i can understand as well, but since i play the game for 23 years I do appreciate both the new fan fiction like fan service/Nomura kindomheart bullshit now they are doing, and also the new player want to appreciate the original story, its a pity they seem to want to better sell than stick to the original, which is a perfect story. Oh and Zack probably didnt come back to life in the remake timeline, they kinda show it in the end just to show the other parallel universe where hes alive, probably just a way to let Aerith to say goodbye and make peace with her former love

The mini-map doesn't accidentally disappear once inside wall market. It just flat out disappears with no warning and I had to look up how to add it back. Not a big deal but your tip will help out a lot of ppl that are probably wondering where their mini-map went during the that part of the game.

In hard mode, you can preserve MP by using Magnify+fire (for example), and MPabsorb+fire for pretty much free MP

I disabled the minimap in chapter 11 and thought it was a deliberate part of the game to add to the suspense of that chapter!

When playing in Hard mode you no longer can use items so I started selling them off. BUT in the VR battle to get the Bahamut materia you can use items again so I was freely using mega-potions and elixirs in order to conserve MP.

There is a lot of things in regards to combat all the way through, but my best advice is to ignore alot of the combat and materia tweaking to perfection and the first time you play through the game..... just enjoy the story and atmosphere. The game frequently allows you 'soft moments' of non-life and death gametime, to character build and get wrapped into the world. My brother in law is over at my house all the time and he had never played the game. He was so wrapped up in the MMO mind set of maximum dmg, that he was stressing builds, and fighting to the point of trying to find re-spawns to max out materia in early chapters. I had to stop him and say, ignore the combat, it isn't as important as the story- play the game for fun, then replay it for combat if you want. He was so thankful, he said the game was the best thing he has ever played. The just- walking and talking with Aeris back to her house was like a breezy fun gaming moment that he had never seen before, this changed the way he thought about games in of themselves. It is not all league of legends or WoW where how high you parsed was more important then anything else. And he spent the rest of the game just having fun exploring the world and characters. So my best advice to anyone playing the game.... just play it for fun, really look around, really take your time learning the characters and don't stress combat and builds till after the game is over. This is still a Role play game and story matters most.
