I bet they saw the Memoria Fan Project, and looked at their Remake, and realized it paled in comparison and had to polish it up more. We know the game is real, the Nivida Geforce Leak saw to that. But I'm not surprised if it got delayed. They might have done a Mid Double AA affair initially, but the Fan project Memoria probably left them Egg on their face.

Games like Final Fantasy VII remake takes a huge amount a time to do. I think Final Fantasy IX remake will do the same as well whether it involves Voice Acting, add more scenes and side-quests to the game and design a new main menu and new character and weapon designs, or it could be a animation for fans to discover and enjoy. I could be wrong about this though.

No offense dude. But there's no such thing as a delay to a game that hasn't been announced. That being said FF7 R team has nothing to do with FF9. That team now known as CBU1 worked on FF7, FF8, FF10, FF13 Trilogy (sequels by Tri-Ace), and much of Vs13/FF15. FF9 was done by a team headed by Hiroyuki Ito and the team often worked on Matsuno's projects as well. They headed FFTactics, FF9, Vagrant Story, FF12. These are the people to tackle a remake of 9. Not CBU1.

The VIIR team should be involved in the IX Remake, the VII Remake is fixing and improving on so many things from the original, the IX Remake needs to do the same, the original IX had so many problems, especially in it’s story and love story, like Garnet’s stupidity.

I personally saw that Final Fantasy IX Remake was going to be released in 2025 rather than 2024 seeing as 2024 will be having Final Fantasy VII Rebirth and Kingdom Hearts 4.
