It's been quite a while since I created FF9 remix (or any remix for that matter). I've been very sick for nearly a year now, so it took several months just to get this one finished! I've always wanted to make this arrangement, and I played with it in my mind on and off over the years. It feels good to finally get it done. The original Final Fantasy 9 soundtrack was composed by Nobuo Uematsu.
I do not own the fan art used in the thumbnail. I was unable to source it, so if you know where it's from, please let me know so that I can credit the artist! Thanks.

The Terra leitmotif in IX is absolutely sublime. Uematsu sprinkling it throughout the game just gives the reveal more impact.

This is one of my favorite themes! To me, it feels like how the theme might sound with a return to Terra after the main story. It's so similar to Bran Bal. I can imagine the mages and genomes together. As if the singer was a genome who found more beauty in life...and sings it. Typing this out I like the singer now. At first I disliked it. It either grew on me, or in this new light, it just sounds more at home. 9s fusion of themes and undercurrent of similiraities is magical. I love the strings. I'm probably rambling but FFIX felt the most like a fantasy story to me. Glad to see a new cover, and hope you are recovering (hehe, narf narf) well.

"Terra" and "You're Not Alone" got me through the final stretch of FFIX way back when I first played it (over twenty years ago, oh my...). My interest in the game had been flagging since the big ado in Alexandria and I even stepped away from the game for several months. Came back, immediately reached this part of the game and was propelled right to the very end by the music alone. And this version is even prettier than that one.

My interpretation: Necron is just one of infinite permutations of the demiurge. Every end boss in the series transforms into and/or summons something radically transcendent and unnervingly alien.

@@RebeccaETripp Thanks for the answer! I disagree with the demiurge part as it is always an evil deity ruling a corrupt physical world. Necron, or Eternal Darkness (the name in I think every other language) is determined to destroy all life and thinks it is the right thing. No life means no suffering. It says something like being death itself and even after beating it, it says that it will exist as long as life exists. It seems Kuja's suffering has awakened it. I remember that FFV's final form of the final boss also wanted to destroy all life so that he could finally die,too, after he was sucked into the void (nothingness?). I can somewhat understand what it means philosophically but death itself as final boss without Kuja making some kind of allusion to it before was a bit strange and confusing. Previous final boss form transformations and summons seemed to be more directly connected to the main villain but I may misremember. Retrospectively, we can think about it and find explanation but when you play it for tje first time...(I was still very young back then) . I remember I liked the music haha.
