Admittedly first played this in the Collection of Mana, but legitimately hearing this on the game select made me put down my controller and listen for a while. It's shocking how much emotion a song with like 3 fucking sound channels can contain.

Same, I mostly got it for Secret of Mana and the sequel and didn't even really know about this game, but this song caught me off-guard. Really underrated game overall, I'm realizing now after playing it.

Got this when it was new, and we were dirt poor. It always meant so much when my mom would splurge as much as she could back then. And man, what a gem I picked. It was…. such an emotional game for a kid in his single digits.

Holy hell this game had a bleak start! When I first fired up this game all those years ago, I spent probably fifteen minutes just listening to this song. It was beautiful, but sad; peaceful, yet ill at ease. Eventually my mom came by and asked if I was going to play the game, so I did. My young heart was not ready for poor Willy... I immediately restarted the game and named the boy Will in his honor.

I remember having played this game as a child. And it's soundtrack always gave me chills and goosebumps. 30 years later, nothing has changed. I got this soundtrack featured by KZbin and the goosebumps are back. Impressive.

This comment brought me to tears! My Mum bought me this game at a second-hand shop in 1998. She died in 2009 when I was 23. It's hard, but I still have hope for the future. It's all we have, right? Much love to you and yours!

I got to the end area and didn't save enough health flasks and was so pissed... but ofc I played it again enjoyably and was ready the next time. So nostalgic! I found this gem of a game in a second-hand shop after reading about it in my older brother's Nintendo Power mags. Such a beautiful game... "Sword of Mana" tried, but couldn't do it justice.
