This is one of those games I WISH I had as a child. This soundtrack is so unbelievably good. This song in particular strikes a chord in me and makes me emotional. It's beauty and tragedy intertwined in such a short loop.

This was my introduction to this theme. Been a fan ever since.

The 2nd video game I ever bought with my own money, after Super Mario Land. Got a few of my friends at school hooked on the series, I still remember us being stoked whenever one of us learned about the sequels.

Got this when it was new, and we were dirt poor. It always meant so much when my mom would splurge as much as she could back then. And man, what a gem I picked. It was…. such an emotional game for a kid in his single digits.

A gameboy game from back then did not have to go this hard but this one did.

I used to hook up my Game Boy to the big stereo system in the living room and listened to this at high volume. Good times.

Picking this game up again after decades of not having played it, and... I never appreciated it as a kid, but this title screen music is legitimately beautiful.

I remember having played this game as a child. And it's soundtrack always gave me chills and goosebumps. 30 years later, nothing has changed. I got this soundtrack featured by KZbin and the goosebumps are back. Impressive.

I remember waking up on a Saturday morning and playing this game 30+ years ago. I got to the end area and didn't save enough health flasks and was so pissed... but ofc I played it again enjoyably and was ready the next time. I only remembered to search for this OST since the new one is coming out... great Japanese commercial too.

To win the war, only to find out you still have to lose what you love. The burden of those who had damn near everything taken from them, only to be tasked with fixing, rebuilding and guarding that which was destroyed by others. So others can live a better life. The storys of the past, hollywood, etc. For the most part, lied to us. Those who claim manage a victory for good when evil rears its head, rarely get the girl, rarely have a happy ending free of trauma or injustice they fought to end.
