Alright, I know a lot of people are going to come after me for this comment but *SHUT UP* about Lightning supposedly stealing WoL's role in the storyline! She appears, along with the other new characters, *IN ONE CYCLE*! She does not have any more prominence in the rest of the storyline than the other new characters do, aside from helping to explain certain things that didn't make sense. Oh, but she's the leader of the new group and they are the focus you might say, well no shit! This game was heavily advertised to be about the new Warriors of Cosmos and while Lightning is the leader, you could say that Tifa, Yuna and Vaan are more important than her in the overall storyline. Namely in that they cause Cloud, Tidus, Jecht and Terra to change sides, setting up their arcs in the next cycle as well as explaining why they acted the way they did. Laguna also is the one who brings to their attention about where to go to stop the manikins, courtesy of Cloud of Darkness and of course, Kain is the one who starts up their plot by going after the other warriors of Cosmos so they don't get permanently offed by the manikins like they eventually do. Yes, Lightning is the one who decides to go after the manikin source, but it takes her, Laguna, Tifa, Yuna and Vaan to get there while Kain holds off Exdeath. And they still all die at the end and the ending cinematic is largely centered around Warrior of Light, the only survivor of this cycle, being sent into the next one with everyone else except Lightning's group. At most Lightning's group are decoy protagonists, taking down a major threat while WoL's group bring down the real big bad of the games. Oh wait, spoilers, but you know what, if anyone had actually played the game instead of just watching the opening and trailers or staring at the purty box art like nimrods they would know this crap. And no, you can't discount the 13th Cycle storyline, because it's still part of the game and fixes many of the problems of the original Dissida, both storyline and gameplay. But, since Lightning (and if you actually paid attention, the rest of the new characters) are on the center of the Warrior of Cosmos' part of the cover, it's gone and turned into "Lightning is on the cover! SHE MUST HAVE STOLEN WARRIOR OF LIGHT'S ROLE!" Get your heads out of your asses.

Vincent isn't going to happen, his thing is transforming into various monsters and while that would be interesting and give him a lot of versatility as a character it would be hell on the game's memory (that's why characters like Sephiroth and Ultimecia don't get to use their real powered up forms during their Ex-Mode since the game can't handle it). Zack would be doable but wouldn't he be to similar to Cloud? Though we really don't need more FF7 characters in the series, they've already got three playables and a unique Assist.

DomovaProject It's not crap, it's exactly why those models weren't used. Because the Aeons have specific and limited movements that just get reused. Changing the actual player requires the new model to be completely moveable in every possible way the player could move them, including attacks dodging, taking hits, everything. It eats up a lot of memory. That's why so many games keep their characters so close in physical attributes, so they can just program one model and place a different paint job on it depending on who you choose to pick.

It's definitely a lot of fun. It's also cool that we can control these characters completely. There is an option to use a combat menu system, for those too familiar with the turn-based combat. There is a lot of gear to be earned, a lot of skills to be learnt, and a lot of things to master, but was definitely worth it. Just watch some gameplay videos. Or download the demo/Prologue. (The Prologue does cost, but it unlocks stuff otherwise un-obtainable in the game)

+Wes Vdbrck I'd rather see someone like Rikku or maybe even Kimari as a FFX rep. It'd be fun to see how Rikku would play, especially if it were her X-2 variation and a Blue Mage like Kimari would be fun to work with. Especially with all of his Ronso Rage techniques and techniques he could "Borrow" from his other guardians as a nod to his being in the center of the Sphere Grid and thus being able to learn a wide variety of skills off the bat. I'd also like to see Aerith get promoted to playable after her cameo as an assist. Simply for closure. I'd really love to see White Mage show up as a fighter too. A spellcaster that specializes in white magic would be a really cool concept. I can see her working like a cross between The Emperor and Exdeath. They could even get a bit clever and include White Mage's Mario Sports Mix attire as an alt.

Oh yes, except for the fact that, while she does have three chapters in the 12th Cycle Storyline, one is the shortest of the bunch and that the longer portion of the game is in fact a remake of the 13th Cycle storyline, which Lightning does not appear in at all. And the third part of the game does not have any set main character. The game is very much an ensemble game, the Warrior of Light and Lightning get so much screen time only because they are the leaders of their respective groups and WoL's Cycle is the longer storyline in the game. So, no, it's not really Lightning's game. If it was, then they'd have found a way to screw continuity and have her and the others in the 13th Cycle storyline.

I can see why you say that, and it's true, to a point. However, I will say that it's no different than WoL in the first game. They're the leaders of their own groups, that's why they're featured more than some of the others. The game still shows the others, like how Vaan met Terra, the whole scene with Yuna, Tidus, and Jecht, and Kain's scheme going on behind everyone's backs.

It's a Tetsuya Nioura thing actually. He did it on purpose starting with VII where he first became a major force in the scope of the series and in the company in general. He even extended it to Kingdom Hearts with Sora, Riku and Kairi which is sky, land and sea when translated.

I agree, but honestly I think it'd be a little more interesting if Fang was on the Chaos side opposite to Lightning than Barthandelus, given she was Ragnarok, which would also be easier to display than Barthandelus' form with Dissidia's format. But I do know that Dissidia's creator was interested in doing something involving Sasz, so he might appear in the next one. But with the poll, I don't remember what the margin was, it was awhile ago, I just remember it was by a landslide that he won.

That's understandable, for me I just like seeing other FF titles to get more attention at this point. Because FF7 already has a couple prequels, a couple side-project games, a couple spin-offs, numerous cameos going back to another one of my favorite FF titles (FFTactics), and a movie. So with things like the FF6 anniversary remake, the FF13 sequels, FF14 having throwbacks to several FF titles, it's refreshing to see other titles get expanded upon and/or uplifted. Spreads things out a bit more.
