What a hero! About all there is left to do for FFIX is new models, upscale and interpolate new frames for battle effects (Might not really be feasible) and maybe interpolate the FMVs a second time to bring them to 60fps instead of just the 30fps Moguri mod provides. Hell, there's a voice acting mod in the works. I dunno what else can be possibly be left besides that stuff.

alternatively you just can edit stuff with the memoria.ini

Press and Hold the Steam button while moving the mouse icon around with the right Trackpad and clicking on trackpad like a button. You should be able to click on the checkboxes in the launcher. You should be in Gaming mode. Which is on by default when you turn on your Steam Deck. I know this is an old comment to reply to. But I hope this helps everybody out.

hi! I copied ur settings in memoria.ini file, but it dosent work, the map is on normal fps and the battles are so fast :/

@@andreneto4678 if the normal maps wsa not changed... it could be a case that you have not installed the correct verion of the memoria

@@faosparkNeo I've downloaded the files in description, extracts on the FFIX Steam folder and run the Memoria Patcher.exe, then copied your settings into Memoria.ini file (after started the game for the first time)... Im using and old game file to test, is there any problem about that? tnks :)

@@anggaraajiprasetya6356 definitely not cause moguri does not have the capability of Memoria, at the time i made this I used the save editor. there are avenues to obtain the item through memoria but you have to code it on your own

@Faospark do you know if you can edit EXP or magic stone gain? Curious, as i see magic stone info in file but only as a script.

for the exp you can edit the level requirements but same goes for the magic stone requirements for the skill to be activated. as for growth / gain pertaining to exp ad magici im not so sure . you can check the code further here github.com/Albeoris/Memoria or ask tirlititi on discord via way of moogles and mods or qhimm

I got this working but my battles are playing at double speed it feels like. I updated memoria and copied your settings into my ini. Any ideas whats up?

lower the battle TPS to you needs like 30.

@@faosparkNeo Thanks, but now the battle ui mod isn't working. It's as though I can only have one working at a time. If I try and install the Scaled Battle UI mod, the 60fps stuff goes away. If I run the MemoriaPatcher again I get the 60fps stuff, but the scaled battle ui goes away. I cannot play the game with that phone battle ui. It's horrid lol.

@@SageNemesis the game at it's current state does not have the Old Mobile/phone menu that obscure your screen. it has since been patched last august 2020 and now features a much more compact battle UI . it is not like original psx release but for me it has certain advantages like you scroll a lot less compared to the original psx one. just upon checking i think the default install mode scaled battle ui is using old version of memoria . definitely it will remove the newer version of memoria. Just to reiterate again the game no longer has the old super huge mobile battle menus.

not really , memoria is what powers moguri. and you can install memoria on top of moguri. they work together.

What font do you use in game?

Quicksand bold. The word bold has to be manually added on memoria ini if you have quicksand in your system. It is a free font and you can download it at fontsquirel i think. Install it for all users in order for it to work

absolutely . after you install moguri. repatch the exe by using the memoria patcher tool . memoria is 100% compatible to moguri and will replace the mogrui launcher. memoria has more features and extra options on the memoria.ini file.

place the memoriapatcher at the game root. run the game once then close it. congfigure the memoria.ini file in the game root .

@@faosparkNeo I patched memoria but I don't seem to have any new options in the .ini. Changing BattleFPS to 60 and adding World/Field/MenuFPS manually seems to work though.

@@Caydiem rename it to something else as a back up to generate a new one then match the options also Important TURN OFF updates cause it will revert memoria on an earlier build. If t happens just redownload the patcher and repatch

@@faosparkNeo Thanks. This also explains where the speedup-option went to (TPS). Being able to play the game at 60fps is honestly pretty damn huge I'm kinda baffled this doesn't attract more attention. If the rest of the bugs were to be fixed(audio/visuals/Tetramaster) we'd have the perfect(or as close as it gets) edition on our hands.

@@Caydiem honestly i dont understand it too. it was a couple of days when tirtilili actually released the latest version of memoria when i decided to showcase it because it seems like people dont know. but when i shared on facebook communities it was flagged as self promotion by moderators eventhough i wrote extensive details about the mod and im just showcasing then. had someone else shared it .. it would have not been flagged. then when i shared it on reddit it had very little traffic compared to the post confirming that it works on steam deck eventhough the main mod is made for PC steam. perhaps someone who has a larger following needs to echo that it exists.

oddly a lot of the battle effects were drawn frame by frame and is still executed on the og frame rate for the most part.

I prefer them over the stock . Opera Omnia portraits are essentially chibi art based from the dissidia art style . Since FF IX is basically a Chibi world .. in my opinion is very fitting and never cringe. The mod customizable too you can still use the stock as well as uspcaled ff iix old
