Despite being a mega fan of this game for a quarter of a century, damage calculations are among the few aspects that I haven't completely memorized yet. Good to know why rod damage is so poor even when compared to staves. Whenever I run out of MP with my black mage, it's time to quote Moe from The Simpsons: "Hit with stick! Hit with stick!".

Lol lol. I love the way it sounds as well when attacking with the Rod. To be honest most of the sounds I love in the game. Just an epic experience But yeah as for calculations I don't know them exact but know how they will work like if they are largely determined by Speed, PA, MA etc. which abilities will increase its damage and so on lol

To my knowledge the Samurai job class doesn’t have innate “Two Hands” ability. So their attack power is poor. That’s really dumb. Ninja 🥷 have innate “Dual Wield”. Was this Samurai oversight corrected in WOTL or is it still the same? Anyway great video as always, Jase! 👍

The guide: Damage formulaes and how to increase attack power. Start with: Super OP grind-end character that don't even need any reason to hit for 999! 😂 This is one of the many reason why I mod this game. The base game told next to nothing to damage formulae!
