Definitely. The bad localization is funny in retrospect if you can recognize the literary and historical references they were making now. Not that I could when it was first released in English! Like most Western fans I didn't get the Japanese historical parallels either then. Great game! Thanks for uploading some of the OST!

So much nostalgia! My neighbor Billy and I played this game on repeat through middle school around 1999-2003. Just dusted off the original PlayStation to show my 9 year old. He lost interest, but that might have to do with me maxing out my monk before leaving Vandalia Plains! 😂. Billy, if you come across this, hope you're doing well!

Legendary soundtrack. Composers: Hitoshi Sakimoto and Masaharu Iwata. I appreciate the nice companion art you posted with the music. Also, "The Pervert" is delightfully terrifying as a child and "Decisive Battle" is epic.

When i was growing up i played this game so much but we didn't have a memory card so we either had to leave the system running or start over. Regardless, didn't ever get very far in the story but loved it so much. Now coming back to it after all these years to play it through is bliss, saving rhe game all the time. It truly is a masterpiece and the story is superb. Love putting on the soundtrack, so much nostalgia.

happened to me in FF10 my card was full and i couldnt go to my uncles to delete some stuff ion his ps2 till like the day after and made it all the way to the first seymor fight died and lost everything. hated my life.

This game is a masterpiece in every aspect, music, designs, story, characters, mechanics. It's such a shame Square Enix didn't revitalize it for the last generation of consoles! I still hope they make a TV series with this fantastic story!

The only imperfection-namely, the original English translation-was corrected with the WotL port. And the voice acting is some of the best of the 2000s. Absolutely stellar game.

Your tastes line up pretty similar to mine...that entire 2 disc soundtrack was probably one of the best pieces of game music EVER written and that includes modern games as well. But I knew when you had Hero's Theme as your favorite song I had to comment, I have listened to that song and watched that scene of Zalbag finding out about their father being killed by Dycedarg as one of my all time favorite moments ever from a Video Game. This game had the best story as well, even when it was mistranslated you kind of worked your way around on what they were saying and how to pronounce their names. Final Fantasy Tactics truly is a master piece...I'm so glad I grew up with the advancement of Video Games. They used to have actual soul to them and you can tell that it wasn't necessarily all about money. I like this game better than all of the other Final Fantasy games, but it doesn't mean I didn't love those as well. It was so awesome to be able to stay home from school back in the 90's and play video games like this and have all the time to grind lol. Games can never go back to the way they were, but I'll always appreciate growing up when we did (I am assuming you're also in your mid 30's) because you even made this video.
