The final boss for the SNES and main storyline in iOS/PC/GBA is Neo Exdeath. It is fought across two stages and will test your characters... or you could spam Rapid Fire and/or Zeninage and waste his evil ass. But where is the fun in that?
This battle gives you two achievements. The first if you defeat both forms. The second is if you can beat both forms without getting anybody KOed at the end. In the GBA, iOS and PC versions, you can save the game after the long cutscene and start Sealed Temple.
FIRST FORM PLAN
================
Exdeath attacks you as a giant tree monster. Although his physical attacks are lame, his magic isn't. The worst of his spells is White Hole, which causes Petrification AND Death at the same time. The Petrify must be removed first before a revive attempt is made.
Because this form is quite armored, it is wise to use Turtle Soup or Off-Guard to ensure Flare Sword and your standard attacks do full damage. If you bring Mix and have Dragon weapons, you can apply Dragon Kiss to the boss to allow the Dragon Lance to always critical to speed up the process. Make sure you apply Hastega here and your characters are in good standing going into the next form.
The Cannoneer Berserk shot strategy does work in this version, but he will still go to Neo Exdeath when you slay him. The GBA Version has a bug where you can skip the next form thanks to this attack.
SECOND FORM PLAN
==================
Now Neo-Exdeath. It is a amalgamation of different creatures and it ultimately wants to destroy everything! But you won't stand for that, will you?
Now with 4 targets, he attacks quickly and relentlessly outside of Haste. The attacks range from various standard attacks, to magic, to status effects to even 2 nasty spells: Almagiest and Grand Cross.
Almagiest is charged by the Bottom Mid portion and will do Holy Damage based on your level. Grand Cross is charged by the Top Mid portion and can do destructive damage and status effects for people not using Ribbons. If 1 of the parts is left on it's own, it will constantly cast Meteor each turn in an attempt to slay you.
For offense, if you brought any Dragon weapons, you should try to apply Dragon Kiss on parts you will be focusing your single attacks on. But try to aim for splash offense: Black Magic all targets, Bahamut, Zeninage, or my personal favorite: Bladeblitz with Flare Swords. Make sure you are under Mighty Guard. Rapid Fire users should try to take down at least 1 or 2 of the parts before they go Rapid Fire spam as this attack is very uncontrollable.
If you are playing the GBA, PC, or iOS version, you may try to steal a few weapons from the second form. You can steal a Murakumo (front), Fuma Shuriken (middle bottom), Dragon Lance (middle top) and Ragnarok (back). Dragon Lances and Murakumo are easier to steal from Rift monsters but a 2nd Ragnarok can help you until you get Ultima Weapon from Neo-Shinryu. But as a warning, it will be difficult to successfully steal, even with Thief Gloves on. So the choice is entirely up to you.

A little help: If you don't have enough money for buy the Coral Rings at Phantom Village, or is saving to buy something else, you can steal from Parthenope in the Phoenix Tower, but the chance of stealing is low.

The only thing I violate on your setup there is the double swords on Faris, using Quick but I only used it for buffs, debuffs and recovery and the overleveling bit because I have a Brave Sword and that loses attack per flee. The only video I use Rapid Fire on was slaying the Magic Pots because I tried it without it and my characters couldn't kill it fast enough. I hate seeing most of those things myself because 99.9% of the player base uses all of those strats and if I wanted to do that, I would have done it myself.

the stats varies with the mastery, if you have mastery in monk, your strenght in mimic/freelancer is the same strenght of a monk

Okay, so I'm a little conflicted on this port. On one hand, I absolutely LOVE how the battle scenes look and play. Smoother than the SNES/GBA/PSX version of the battles, now with a very smooth ATB bar and fluent menus. The animations of attacks and spells have also been given a massive overhaul, and look amazing. On the other hand... the overworld looks as if it was just pieced together, as tile seams are VERY noticeable on my computer. I want to know something. Is there some sort of mod set or trick I can pull off that removes the visible tile seams so that I can enjoy this game to the fullest. I would love to play this version, but I can't STAND the tile seams. They drive me insane. Please, if anyone knows of a way to fix this stuff, I'd like to know.

there are a few mods out there on steam. One of them changed the filter and another one that is a work in progress changed the sprites to ones that are like PSP sprites.

In lore, ExDeath started as a tree used to execute the wicked. There is enough occult lore to imply those restless spirits would join on the nearest thing, the tree, upon death. The prior light warriors tried to seal the awakening ExDeath off by using the elemental crystals, with a side effect of creating the split worlds. While one could argue that ExDeath's mission to reunite the worlds benefits the protagonists with unified resources and military might, it also means that the destruction of the crystals prevents the chance of someone sealing him(it?) off again. That was presumably his end goal.

And I'm pretty sure at first he wanted to gather the power of the Void to unleash chaos and destruction, but then he got consumed by the Void, and as Neo Exdeath, wanted to end all existence altogether to end his suffering.

It was a progressive thing that was done over time. I never ran from battle, even if the enemy was trash. I have a Brave Blade still being used in that fight to prove it.

During one of the times I fought Neo Exdeath I accidentally used Banish magic on the skeleton and it actually worked... If I recall it was a minor probability of success?

Yeah the skeleton can be slain by Death effects, but Odin is more preferred because it has a higher accuracy check.

You can easily takedown the left-most part by either using the Magic Lamp via Odin's Zantetsuken, cast doom which gives a 30-second countdown, Death Claw which fatally reduces its HP but has low chances of working and try using Banish, which may not also totally work but surely nails the skeleton part.

Man I can not stand how upsettingly lame the spritework is on the main cast. The sprites really do a disservice to how nice the effects and bosses look.The UI is also rather ugly, and while I know this was designed for phones there has to be a better way to do it.

All it does is changes the monster's typing to Dragon/Heavy so that Dragon weaponry does it's bonus damages. It is a perfectly legal strategy...

@@Hellwolf36 The move berserks the opponent, and it works on literally all enemies in the game due to a bug. It's the equivalence of vanish-dooming an enemy in FF VI. (e. g. it's an easy way to take out an enemy due to an oversight by the programmers.)

@@aspieatheist6040 I know what Vanish Doom is and it was removed from FF6 Steam. Also, I need a timestamp on when I exactly used Blessed Kiss. The only "kiss" I use is Dragon's Kiss (which as I said, applies Dragon/Heavy typing which causes Dragon weapons to multiply and Heavy prevents some fractional and instant death moves from working) and if it applies Berserk, I would have never been able to use commands when I fought Omega and mk2. Either that or you got your kisses mixed up. I am taking this seriously because of the accusation of cheating when I have done nothing of the sort.
