Final Fantasy Versus XIII Soundtrack - Battle Theme ~Proud Guardians~ [by Kayin]

Okay all, here's another track!
This one is the regular battle theme for my FFvsXIII mini-ost project : Proud Guardians!
I reaaa[...]aaally hope you'll like it as much as you've liked Everlasting Crystal. It's a bit different of course but hey, it's designed for regular battles. ^^
Even though I like it myself, I think I've maybe overdone it a little, as there are a lot of things going on... I need to do more simple stuff. =/ So... hope your brain won't explode or something. 8D
As for me, I hope my ears won't explode, because this time I've really put efforts in the production, and I think they died. xD
It's my first time trying to write in 5/4 (though there are some parts in 6/4).

after all these years, since Versus XIII never came to be, I still consider these songs, as inspired by the original vision, a part of the real FFvXIII.

Especially your instrumentation, which is accompanied by the beautiful heartbeat of your percussion. This is just flawless kayin, and it seems there are no mistakes, showing that you must have put an immense amount of time putting this together. Okay, onto your next composition. Hi everyone, I am here to say that we are currently working on a fan project based on FF Versus XIII, attempting to reviving not only Normua's vision, but the hype everyone waited before the game turned into XV. This project will be episodic videos than a game. And we will be using the fan made music like this one with credit (of course) given as they are really good music made by fans. I didn't want to self-promote but it's the only way to get this out there. Not a bot, but a fan.

So i have listened to a few of the pieces you did for Vs.XIII and think they all sound like they come directly from a kingdom hearts game which i am assuming is a good thing as that is the direction this game is going for anyway... You are awesome by the way

Bon battle theme. Ca correspond plutôt bien à l'ambiance de Versus avec cette ligne de basse cool et bien mise en avant (en plus je suis sensible à ça vu que j'en joue moi-même, en plus du piano :3), et c'est vrai que surtout niveau rythme et batterie ça m'évoque pas mal Shinomura et Kingdom Hearts, comme pas mal de tes musiques précédentes, ce qui est un compliment bien sur :D.

That was the point, I believe. The actual composer of Versus, Yoko Shimomura, also composed the KH series, so it's great to hear that Kayin was able to capture her feel nicely, while not completely sounding like a KH song.

Expect Kingdom Hearts-ish songs in Versus 13 anyway. Remember, it's Shimomura composing for the game, not any of the usual Final Fantasy composers like Uematsu, Hamauzu, or even Ishimoto.

this battle theme is nice but sort of ruins the theme of the game itself as the tone colour is bright when the game's tone is suppose to be dark.
