I am not sure if this will be a hot take or not, but I am of the opinion that this game in particular cemented the position of Final Fantasy on the market. The fourth showed signs of growing the beard, so to speak, and introducing more storytelling… However, for me, it’s Final Fantasy VI that escalated in the best possible way: bringing a large cast of unique characters, not shying away from mature, dark themes, not to mention delivering some heavy gut punches and shocking twists… As someone wrote on the TV Tropes page, ‘Kefka walked so that Sephiroth could run’ ;) Suffice to say, out of the entire Pixel Remaster collection, I can easily see this game having enough weight to be remade in the same vein as Final Fantasy VII. I truly cannot recommend it hard enough… As always, sit back, relax and enjoy! If you like it then subscribe and comment to show your awesome support.

Final Fantasy VI, also known as Final Fantasy III from its initial North American release, is a 1994 role-playing video game developed and published by Square for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. It is the sixth main entry in the Final Fantasy series, the final to feature 2D sprite based graphics, and the first to be directed by someone other than series creator Hironobu Sakaguchi; the role was instead filled by Yoshinori Kitase and Hiroyuki Ito. Long-time collaborator Yoshitaka Amano returned as character designer and concept artist, while composer Nobuo Uematsu returned to compose the game's score, which has been released on several soundtrack albums.
Ports of Final Fantasy VI for Android and iOS mobile operating systems were also published in 2014, for Android on January 15, and for iOS on February 6. A Windows PC port, itself a port of the Android version, was released for Windows PC via Steam on December 16, 2015. Another port from the "Pixel Remaster" line was released on Steam on February 23, 2022. The "Pixel Remaster" series features new 16-bit sprites, new soundtracks, and a return to the game's originally released content. No added content from any of the ported versions appears in any of the "Pixel Remasters".
