This is it. The big one. FFVI Pixel Remaster!
Hailed as a classic by all old school RPG fans, this game was simply definitive of the golden age of SNES RPGs. FFVI cemented the legacy of Final Fantasy as amongst the most beloved RPG franchises - maybe the most loved of all.
FFVI is a timeless masterpiece. While it may age, while new styles and systems may come to dominate; the art, story, and gameplay of FFVI remain perennial. Some have done it better since 1994 when it was released in North America, but like any masterpiece, it remains a timeless classic with a special significance for the genre it helps to define, and is a blueprint that was built upon for much that came after.
FFVI boasts a large cast of fourteen playable characters and features an improved Active-Time Battle (ATB) system. The redone musical score in the Pixel Remaster is unbelievable. When I’m playing this, I’ll just stop to listen to the updated and remixed soundtrack. It has the nostalgia of the countless hours I played this game so many years ago, but updated and made new again.
