As much as I enjoyed Kyle Landry's rendition of this piece, this is how this piece should be played. It's not supposed to be an overly romantic emotional piece. It's about steady pacing. Steps we are taking when we are "ahead on our way." No long pauses. Just a steady pace of notes where the timing of the whole piece never changes.

Was browsing YT after the FF7 Rebirth piano minigame and despite hearing this upteen times, I remain mesmerised by your faithful rendition. The steady beat captures the original 1997 OG essence where the party leaves Midgar into the big unknown world and just getting on with the journey which promises its fair share of dangers, mysteries and also peaceful uneventfulness (at times).

Its a beautiful piece. Uematsu is a genius writer. I absolutely am nostalgic for the simpler days man. I heard the rebirth ep 2 was a bit lacking but i played the first one and i loved it. Btw I love terranigma too lol

Thanks! Sorry I haven't been playing for a long time now. I will probably start again soon as I'm starting to miss it again (it's kind of an off and on thing with me). I have a different computer now though and can't use analog recording like I used to (the sound is horrible on my laptop when I record that way), so I've ordered a MIDI cable, just waiting for it to get here. Once it does I'll probably buy Pianoteq software and use that (it will sound 10x better even!!). Can't wait.

@Pheyt14 Yeah, this is the arrangement from the OST sheet music book, the Piano Collections version is nicer and more fancied up but this one sounds closer to what's heard in the game, even though it's simpler. My only problem with this (and a lot of my recordings until just recently) is that I used way too much reverb, not sure what I was thinking! It's great for some pieces but on others it just makes it sound muddled IMO.
