Up to a while ago, Zack was the reason I cried most in my life. The only time that I cried more than that was thinking one of my best friends died but then he came back (He is my Angeal) so it hit hard. This messed me up so bad in college, I haven't cried that much not even for real people. Then Rebirth came out

Since this is just a game, I guess there may be more connections between Zack and Cloud in the missions. Based on my memories, they were out for two missions. (I played this game long time ago. If I am wrong, sorry) However, Zack and Cloud were in same situation. Both of them went through a lot troubles, and in this case Zack is willing to give Cloud a purpose to live is reasonable. In addition, Zack does not want the buster sword be left here.

One thing which I haven't seen is the Post Credits Scene. Basically it's a Remake of the Original intro of FF7 with a small tweak in there where we see Cloud say "My name is Cloud, SOLDIER First Class" I believe they took the Advent Children version of the Opening Theme too.

I never got to play the original Crisis Core. Is this how Zack dies in the original? Cuz they did him SO dirty. I knew bro wasn’t gonna survive, but I was under the impression that Sephiroth was gonna kill him. It would have made sense as to why him and Cloud have such a huge beef with each other. But for him to go out like this???? He deserved so much better. I’m thinking he had to take out his heroes, which in itself was sad as hell. But since Sephiroth is in FF7 yeah I thought he was gonna take Zack out. But this? This was bullshit. I cried my ass off at this unfair bullshit. Was not expecting this in the slightest sense. And then the final shot given to him was by a fucking GRUNT!!! A GRUNT!!!!! BULLSHIT!!!! I put in 40 goddamn hours of work and missions just for him to get taken out by a goddamn GRUNT!!!! I was absolutely furious and sad.

It's not retconing. The Cloud that we played as in FF7 Remake still went through all of this trauma with Zack's Death. Zack surviving in an alternate universe didn't change the Cloud that we know. We are now in a position where we have 2 realities, one where Zack dies and one where Zack lives, but since the realities are separate from eachother, the impact of Zack's death on Cloud was not removed or erased, because in Cloud's reality Zack is gone for good and nothing can bring him back.

Sepheroth doesn't even appear to be the same sepheroth. This is garbage story telling that undermines Zacks sacrifice.. Hironobu Sakaguchi was dealing with the death of his mother when he wrote FF7...the story is him coping with his grief ... That has been gutted...for fan service... Yes Zack is alive in an alternate universe..... question why...why show that..why have him trying to meet with Ares??? Fan service..death isn't final... Ppl you miss are alive somewhere..taking away the sting of death... It's garbage convoluted writing in a remake of a pretty well written story .

This damn game made me sick the next day when i was a kid. i was crying so much that i had sore eyes and eye gunk shut my eyes closed and couldn't open em. My dad had to carry me to the sink to wet my eyes. Most pain i have ever had emotionally as a kid that i had to delete the psp game. 🥲
