Yeah. Exploring an area first, THEN going back with actual content in the environment and just fast traveling everywhere isn't nearly as magical as exploring it for the first time ever WHILEST doing the content as you come across it. Also fucking hate that they made you go all the way across the plains area first, thus kinda sorta ruining the magic of exploring the plains for the first time. A shame for me since plains and forests are my favorite biomes to explore.

Bit on the late side but a really good mid-game tip: Giga-Potions only cost 50GP and you can get hundreds of GP just from Chocobo Races and Battle Arena, not only a simple way to earn a little extra Gil but a good way to get a very powerful healing item in abundance without actually needing to make them or buy them with Gil

I have one question about those purple skills. It says they boost the same element Materia. How much to they boost them? I've looked and I can't find it anywhere, though it wouldn't be surprising if I missed it.

The thing about AP Up materia is it's kind of a waste because you could literally also be earning 100% more AP by simply having literally ANY other Materia in that slot lol. Think about it... By using the AP Up Materia you're simply not gaining AP on another materia that you could be slotting in there to earn AP for. So unless you just REALLY have a specific Materia that you want to level up ASAP, it's a bit of a waste really. Plus you actually have to level said Materia up just to get it to give 100% more AP! So yeah, not as good as it seems really.

Not as I have found yet, you do get rewards for ranking up. So my guess is yes, since you have to beat notorious people in the towns and cities.

Hot Take: AP Up Materia is kind of worthless unless you don't have a lot of materia. This is because it takes up a slot to double the AP the materia linked receives. In the end, it is not netting you any more AP than if you just leveled 2 different materia instead of a single materia essentially taking two slots. The ONLY time that AP Up is worth using is if you don't have any other materia to level. Thus since another doesn't need the slot to gain AP, you can help level up your final materia faster. There isn't really a time where you need to power level a specific materia, especially if you're Farming AP. Why are people suggesting to use AP Up instead of just leveling multiple materia?

because some materia only need 1000 ap to master and some need 3000,5000 and even over 10,000 AP to master. So if you're only after mastering a couple then AP up doubles your progress for those specific materia

But in the end, it isn't granting you more AP earned, it's just taking two slots and focusing the AP into one Materia. Yes but also you should consider that 99% of the materia in the game is actually useless, so losing a single materia slot to boost a good materia a little bit more is extremely beneficial

@@Primalliquid92 Debatable. In higher end play (generally hard mode or just wanting to min max) you start wanting to get those Stat Buffing Materia. Those take quite a long time to level (and of course not as needed on a Normal play through, but one can start leveling them early). It can also be worth having multiple of the same element spell material. Not just having a minimum of 3 so each party member can have the spell, but multiple on the same character. This is because you can do multiple links with the same spell type. Such as having a Spell linked with HP Absorb, then in another slot, a duplicate of the same element spell and Synergy linked so that your allies will cast the spell on their own while also absorbing HP with said attacks. Many other combos like this works, but that's a simple one. Of course they don't all need to be leveled, but you do have 6 characters that you can also spread them out towards when not on the same character. There are a lot more uses to materia than some seem to think of. People love the Enemy Skill Materia (for good reason) and it works with HP Absorb. With the super combo of Plasma Discharge, it starts getting crazy. People don't really use Mug much at all, but did you know, Mug refunds 60% ATB when it hits an enemy? Hit two enemies and you get your bar back instantly (if done in the same swing). This can light up your screen, make you unkillable and kill anything that isn't immune to lightning. Again, those are just simple examples.... Raise more materia and find out more.

i wasnt actually on about the buffing materia (which are actually pretty easy to level in rebirth) i was on about others and yes mug is broken af using it with a specific character pretty much keeps mobs stunlocked the vast majority of the time and even works on bosses. As for "raise more materia" i have every materia in the game except for 3 and they're all maxed. so not sure why you decided to throw that little bit in there
