I’ve always wondered if he’s Cerberus because (1.) he has his human form, (2.) the Jenova cells in him enable him to transform into multiple monsters, and (3.) his body harbors the Chaos gene, which along with the Jenova cells gives him the ability to safely mold with the Chaos gene enough to transform into Chaos. The human part, the Jenova cells part, and the Chaos gene part.

And now bro wakes up in 2024, 30 years later, when folks can have basically everything they want in their palm-sided phone: music, movies, fast internet, phonecalls, and if you want to infiltrate a building you will need a card with coded microchip which only you can have and you cannot give it to anyone or vice versa. He will be in Part 3,the new members introduced to the gang are meant to be "guest characters" like how Red was in Remake. Giving time to expand the story,and build character. Also if they REALLY want to go all out he may even get a DLC for Part 3 or a stand alone game like Crisis Core. Diverge Of Cerberus is the final piece of FVII history and happens 3 years after the main game. But they'll have to do Advent of Children first,which they want to connect with Remake. Timeline goes FVII - AOC (2 years after) - COD (3 years after main game)

So far in FF7 Remake & FF7 Rebirth, we saw some of the Crisis Core characters & theme songs. With Vincent Valentine now in the picture & they working on the Finale Part 3 of the FF7 Remake series (which I speculate they will name the Part 3 as FF7 Reunion) they should have some Dirge of Cerberus characters & theme songs, such as Lucrecia's theme & characters like Azul the Cerulean. Would be interesting to finally see how it all connects with the original FF7 story with the rest of the FF7 "other versions" like Crisis Core, Before Crisis, Advent Children, & Dirge of Cerberus.
