I think if we don't see him, it's kind of a weird plot hole to have one of the Jenova kiddos running about out there. Considering we know he got yeeted by what looked like Minerva but was likely some kind of lifestream guardian not unlike we see Aerith in AC, it doesn't seem like something deemed important enough to get a get out of death free card should be left in the wind. If we add in that we're getting Angeal in EC and Zack is Genesis's reflection in the way Cloud can be seen as Sephiroth's then it would make a lot of sense to see Genesis again in part 3.

That's an interesting parallel you draw Light and Dark Cloud and Sephiroth Zack and Genesis Can't wait for Episode 2 of First Soldier, Young Sephiroth and Angeal and the Masamune.

I am one of those people who believe that Remake and Rebirth is happening AFTER Dirge of Cerberus. Sephiroth was able to regain power after Omega was defeated and start the whole "remake" process. I am convinced that this is the emergency that Genesis grabbed Weiss to go and confront. So, just like a lot of us feel that OG/Omni Aerith and OG/Omni Sephiroth are engaged in a multi-world battle, I belive that OG/Omni Genesis is also in the background doing something, since he was branded as a guardian of the Planet by the Planet itself. Because of this, I think that we will see Genesis appear immediately after Cloud recovers his identity. Like, IMMEDIATELY AFTER that event, similar to how Gi Nanatak stole the scene right after the Seto and Nanaki event. Genesis will appear within the Lifestream to drop a plot bomb on Cloud, Tifa and whoever else is there with them, revealing that their only hope is to restore the original continuity and use Genesis's weird dna to kill Jenova Cells once and for all. Genesis will then appear later on during the raid on Midgar, when things will be very different because Sephiroth will have the support of Wutai's army and Avalanche HQ to attack Midgar. On top of Sephiroth's new forces, I also believe that by this point the entire party will be fully aware that the Beagle world is NOT the true reality, and they are all working together along with Genesis to stop Sephiroth from completing his "remake" of the world. Genesis will undoubtedly do something to bring Weiss, Nero, and the rest of Deepground under his leadership to clash with Wutai's army and Avalanche HQ, all while Diamon WEAPON approaches Midgar in the background. It will close enough to the original, but will have the typical crazy WTF plot twists we have gotten used to in this trilogy so far.

Very interesting theories, I kind of thought myself the Beagle World was a Remade world as you suggested. I even look for Angeal to return as well to Zack and the potential reunification of Zack and Aerith.

It's important to note that minerva is an avatar of the planet on corporal form, meaning the planet not only directly healed genesis of his degradation, but also directly communed with him, making him the only known non-cetra to have "spoken with the planet". IF he is to show up (I don't think he will, purely because the devs have said that they want the OG game and its characters to be the focal point, and I think genesis is too big a character for the game to include) but IF he does show up, I'd wager he shows up to help zack in some capacity, since it would be redundant to have him be an antagonist after crisis core, and also make no sense for him to harass cloud and Co or help them since there's no connective tissue there. I do think deep ground will be around, I feel that something will happen in midgar during the midgar raid, whether it be sephiroth showing up and directly using the whispers to summon meteor like he has done twice now, once in remake and once in rebirth, or wutai invading and unbeknownst to them releasing deep ground or shinra utilising them out of desperation. Also, on a different tangent; I have a theory that the 'edge of creation' areas are happening directly after each other rather than cloud ending up there more than once. I think zack showing up there happens directly after sephiroth has told cloud "7 seconds to the end" and it was because of whatever cloud did that zack ended up there.

There is a reason for genesis to mess with the party. The amount of damage that was done to the planet because of the fate of the planet being taken over sephiroth has caused events that shouldn't be happening. Not to mention the party causing the singularity in remake. Genesis role going foward is probably a soldier for the planet. Sephiroth reunion will be different then the OG game. He wants to merge worlds. That could cause genesis to wake up early due to the planet needing his aid. I believe the stairs are high enough for him to appear. At the same time the story can be written without it.

Like Lucrecia in DOC, I’d love to see Genesis actually written well. They made sure to re release Cc with Remake, I have to assume that they wanted new fans to know who these characters are because they would be returning. I know they are setting up BC things, we got the truth about Kalm, references to the connections of Rufus to Avalanche and Wutai. Right now I am more certain we will meet the BC cast in game 3 than I am of meeting the CC cast again because of the set up so far. And just a reminder the huge/magnus materia was needed to summon Zirconiade which we know is out there because they rewrote the timeline just to have it still be out there this time. Sounds like a fun boss fight lol ❤ If we do see Genesis again I believe it will be on the Zack side of things since that is who he has a history with. Whether fans like him or not the last lines spoken in the timeline are spoken by him, he is important to this story. Makes sense to see him again. Kitase says the compilation characters are coming, I believe him :)

Bonsoir Madame Moogle Mom! Long time no see, yes Before Crisis needs to be addressed. Somewhere they had mentioned adding a scenario where the other were going to appear in Remake but due to time scheduling it was cut. There was actually a lot of stuff cut from Remake, just as I'm sure there probably was for Rebirth. Also we know about 50% of Crisis Core was cut due to the cost of the UMDs for PSP. I think our only hope for Before Crisis or our first hint of what they will do with Before Crisis will come when it is released on Ever Crisis which I think we could see it as soon as next summer. I want to see a CGI battle with Sephiroth and Elfe so bad! Hopefully we get a flashback. I'm also quite certain there will most definitely be DLC after part 3, how many will depend on sales sadly. Hopefully part 3 does much better.

I like your 3rd idea on Deepgroumd being deployed to an assault on Wutai. The Turks have been Shinra’s elite force that the party has fought numerous times throughout the past 2 games so activating Deepground will give us some new Shinra-aligned boss fights. I think there should still be a couple Turk fights in Part 3 but I’d like them to become allies by the end of the game. In Wutai the Turks and Deepground fight against the party, Wutains, and Avalanche. But the horrors of Deepground on the battlefield cause the Turks to finally dissociate themselves from Shinra. When the party goes back to Midgar, the Turks can aid them and Deepground can be the bosses.

I personally want Genesis to, at some point, go to Sephiroth and try to get through to his Human side. Making him remember things like his friendship with Angeal and himself. maybe a flashback section were we can see all three of them on a mission kicking ass. Then ultimately Sephiroth does kill him but Genesis does trigger a slight emotional responce from him before dying. This all ties into Sephiroth willing fully joining the Lifestream after we beat him at the end. Angeal and Genesis waiting for him. Think kinda like KH3 ending with Xehanort/CC end with Angeal taking Zacks hand lol Also like the idea of Genesis showing Sephiroth Lucrecias cave, since he mocked him in CC for not even knowing his mother. Would be a little redemption attempt for a friend trying to make up for his past actions. I will honestly be pissed if after all this time he doesn't have a major role to play in part 3. The lifestream saved him and gave him a second chance for gods sake, it can't be left out surely.

I think Genesis has the opportunity to play a very unique and powerful role if they write him carefully. I think the hints will be dripping in Ever Crisis, Episode 2 of First Soldier will be the story of Young Sephiroth and Angeal's friendship and how Sephiroth obtains the Masamune. You can be guaranteed that Genesis won't be far behind because Angeal was actually friends with Genesis first. I daresay, we get a prelude chapter of a Young Sephiroth, Angeal, and Genesis doing exactly as you mention, kicking ass perhaps tied to Wutai or even an bigger epic mission where perhaps Tri-Tech Attacks are introduced. A Sephiroth/Genesis/Angeal Deadly Team Attack.

Something just bugs me about Weiss. He should be in a coma/sleep. What happens at the end of Dirge and what happens to a person while they are in one of these other "worlds" Genesis took him from that world and returned him to Remake/Rebirth world hence why he is awake and actually making that Dirge ending fit in with the current story maybe?????? just a thought about something that has bothered me with how it's been overlooked by nearly every theory person lol Unless I'm misremembering something but I think he is meant to be asleep/coma until Dirge? Let's also not forget, Genesis is already involved, in a way. Deepground people have his cells.

I could see Zack and Genesis interacting in one of the dream worlds. I really wasn't think about that too much, but I will be now. For Deepground, I think we'll definitely get to fight Sonon. And I wouldn't mind fighting just one Restrictor. But for the bulk of Deepground and the Tsviets, what if recorrected Whispers keep them from coming up to help Shinra during Midgar Raid? If you were Heidegger and Scarlet, and you thought Rufus was dead, why not call on them to deal with Avalanche? No need to keep it a secret if the keys to the kingdom are now in your hands. How would they react to Deepground not coming when they needed them most?

The fact that we got zero NEW Genesis/Deepground stuff in Rebirth is so strange to me (and contributes to my mixed feelings about Rebirth as a whole, even though I love it). I'm very curious about WTF is about to happen in part 3; there are SO many things they could include. I am prepared to be entertained yet unsatisfied. They'll be getting my money either way...

I think we will definitely see Genesis this time. I have a theory Monsieur Sector 6, I think that Rebirth may have actually been a lot bigger than the game we got. I think one reason why we didn't get any playable Zack chapters as in adventure, fights, and bosses kind of exposee, was because it would have made Rebirth bigger than 200 GB; and if that's the case, I think that material could have been saved and cut for DLC content just like Vincent's adventure in the Temple of the Ancients which you mentioned in a previous video. As for Genesis, I like your combination of idea 2 and 3, I do have a theory that Ever Crisis material will play hugely into part 3 as well which I believe the first chapter or Prelude chapter of part 3 could very well be a chapter of Young Sephiroth, Angeal, and Genesis as it would open the exposition a bit for Wutai and the history of these 3 First Class Soldiers. I do think part 3 has the potential to be twice the size of Rebirth. Then there is the compilation of Before Crisis with Verdot, Elfe, Zirconiad, and the player Turks; also, the potential introduction as to who Evan is. I'm almost certain we will get DLC after part 3.

I have mixed feelings on this one. I 100% think Deepground will feature in Part 3. To what end, I'm not sure. Genesis though, it kind of feels too late in the day to be throwing in another major player that new players are likely not going to have a clue about. Sure, some will have played CCR, but a lot won't. Of course, the main thing really working in Genesis' favour is the countless references to Loveless across the first two games. It's no direct link, or guarantee, but you say Loveless and you think Genesis. It would be really odd to have gone hard in referencing Loveless and then not feature Genesis somehow. I'm not precious either way re Genesis tbh. I think if they are going to do something with him then I would have preferred that they got into it earlier in the trilogy. Part 3 is going to be insanely chaotic as it is.

We don't know what happened to Genesis in the other timeline where Zack is alive. The timeline we play as Zack he arrived at Midgard a) alone (without Cloud) and b) quite some time later as the Midgard portion just played out with Cloud and Aerith in coma. So I think it will be quite unlikely that we will have any interactions between Zack and Genesis, maybe not even with Zack

Maybe this idea is ass to general FF7 fandom, but I think it’s cool. So I’m in the minority of FF7 fans that, with hindsight, actually enjoyed the cadence with which SE sort of drip-fed us FF7 content from Remake to Rebirth. That is to say, I would not hate a similar cadence now in between Rebirth to Part 3. I know all the statements made about “no DLC planned for Rebirth” so miss me with that, but indulge me in the idea… Imagine, much like the Intergrade version of Remake, Rebirth gets a “definitive” version of the game on PS5 pro, that includes a content drop. I think, once again, the coolest thing they could do would be to leverage Zack’s pre-established kit, and make it a Zack-led story, where he makes it to Gongaga and reunites with Cissnei and his family. You would fight alongside Cissnei, either make her a party member within this expansion or just make her akin to Sonon from Intermission, and the two of them go back to the reactor ruins and fight the tankceratops that all the fans wished was in the base game. The DLC story ends with an appearance of the beagle-stamp, confirming Zack is now in the same timeline as everyone else, with the same Cissnei we met in Gongaga. This also pays off her comments from her last side missions, where she seems to foreshadow.. seeing him come strolling up to their gates. Then also, adding a superboss to the base game, that forces you to go back before Temple of the Ancients in order to access it. Something like, Chadley appearing saying “a summon-like energy signal is radiating from close to Midgar, maybe you should go and check it out Cloud?” And a new area has opened up on the Map over in the Grasslands region that forces you to take the Tiny Bronco through the water of a narrow cave and arriving near the same area, we see Genesis appear in the DoC secret ending. A ball of water appears, and Genesis drops down. He makes eye-contact with Cloud and says “The sword…and so, your legacy lives on Angeal.” Cloud says, “who?” And Genesis says, “let us see…if you are worthy successor.” And the boss fight happens. New title card is Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth G:Edition *mic drop*

Did you take into consideration the real world constraints? I believe Genesis bore the likeness and voice talent of GACKT, in Crisis Core. Perhaps he wasn't available or willing for Rebirth?..

I'm kind of surprised that no one ever talks about this. GACKT has been dealing with a chronic illness in his vocal cords for years now. I wanna believe that Nomura got to convince him since he giggled a bit when asked about Genesis coming to Ever Crisis eventually, but who knows at this point. I often joke about GACKT being the singer for part 3 theme, but that's also very unlikely :')

I'm a bit of a doomer when it comes to the story plot lines being tied up in a satisfactory manner come part 3. There are plenty of settings where Genesis can show up like the huge...I mean Magnus materia search or the return to Midgar or even during the time Cloud's (and Tifa's) departure leaves a vacuum in the party. I wonder if there will be DLC to properly flesh out what's going on behind the scenes with these characters.

I think Genesis as a character relies on Loveless much more than Loveless relies on Genesis if that makes sense, I don't think he needs to be included just because Loveless is everywhere necessarily. Loveless has been around since OG FFVII and predates the creation of Genesis' character by several years. Kind of a tangent about Loveless in general (unrelated to Genesis), but the gist of it at its core based on the snippets we get from the original (mainly what Cid says on the Highwind) and the massive amounts during Rebirth's Gold Saucer play is a story about lovers looking to reunite after defeating an evil force. If that wasn't curious enough, the final act of Loveless is also known to have never been discovered which is the perfect setup for part 3 to show us what happens. To me, a final act of Loveless that has never been shown to the public finally being revealed "At Journey's End" involves changing the OG ending... but our characters changing the OG ending just to have Aerith still die? Highly unlikely to me. Don't even bother changing anything in the first place at that point because you're dooming your main character to depression post-FF7 all over again, basically nothing would change for Cloud compared to the original even if Sephiroth completely vanished this time around. It would also betray the notion that they'd reunite... if you... you know, don't have them reunite. Cloud and Aerith literally first meet on Loveless street in the original and FF7R which is something I don't see mentioned enough when bringing up Loveless, you got Varvados calling Alphreid a puppet which is what Sephiroth calls Cloud at the altar in OG and Rebirth, exact imagery down to camera angles from the play gets pasted in chapter 14 like Cloud and Aerith's church hug and stuff talked about in the ending CG cutscene, "tearful farewell" (Aerith's OG death), "needn't promise that you'll wait for I know that I'll find you here" being extremely similar to Aerith's "No Promises to Keep" lyrics, etc. Like the most obvious Cloud/Aerith/Sephiroth parallels ever shoved in your face everywhere. I think Loveless is crucial to FF7R... but all this stuff I listed has nothing to do with Genesis. His direct relevance to Loveless probably doesn't go beyond the whole Wanderer/Prisoner/Hero dynamic in Crisis Core with Angeal and Sephiroth. Genesis' arc does definitely have some loose ends though (with Minerva and all that), so if he does appear I'd rather it be the second option you mentioned. It keeps Crisis Core content contained with Crisis Core characters (Zack). Cloud interacting with Genesis would definitely be interesting though. On that note, I fully expect FF7's story to continue after FF7R. First reason is obviously Square Enix trying to make money. Second reason is, in the same way the OG has Advent Children and DoC following it, I expect FF7R to have a relatively happy ending this time around with subsequent games following the characters in this better fate that Cloud/Aerith will manage to create for themselves (and therefore making this trilogy that "side story" that Kitase had expressed wanting to make about Cloud and Aerith all those years ago in an interview). If you don't get Genesis in this one, you're probably getting him in a future game.

Rebirth was so meh for me and the ending was such a let down that it’s hard for me to be interested. Maybe when the trailers launch for the final installment it’ll spark my interest. If it’s another filler game with a bunch of assassins creed style “clear the map with busy work” instead of substance I’ll just wait for a story synopsis on KZbin.

If Genesis appears in the main plot of part 3, it will not leave a good impression on the game. He is widely accepted as the most annoying character across all of the Final Fantasy titles. I know there's a small niche group of people who really like Genesis, but you gotta take one for the team here and be accepting of him not appearing in part 3. The majority of players will not want him to make a return. I, for one, want part 3 to mostly follow the path of the the OG discs 2 and 3, and focus on the stories of the core party members. I'll be effing livid if Genesis' annoying face and voice impedes on far more intriguing stories of the main party members.
