@Primalliquid big thanks for bringing this to my attention! I always thought 8 was way to easy but this made it a proper game... Almost at least. In the Fire Cavern i encountered Bahamut instead of Ifrit. Much thanks to Holy war trio (which was being sold at Balamb) and Apocalypse from him i managed to finally grind him down after 6h of grinding. Then i realized that the fire bats had The End xD. Big fan of your vids btw, keep up the good job!

Just started watching this series as well as I just recently downloaded the randomizer. First run, Ifrit was Ruby Dragon. Second run, Ifrit was Ultima Weapon. The run I'm currently trying to get through Ifrit is Seifer. Not super easy but not impossible. I did discover though Caterpillars are able to cast "the end" hahaha. So I learned the hard way to be careful of those. What a fun experience!

The thing I love about this randomiser is that you still have to go through the story in order, so that you have SOME form of familiarity and it gives you a fighting chance. Great start with the Flares as well ;)

Final Fantasy VIII is one of the few RPGs that punishes you for leveling up.

Apparently Nocturne makes some things worse if you're too high of a level

It's not even true. The enemies scale but you're still way stronger and you get better rewards

@@MrBreakthewalls No, it is, If they wanted you to level up and get stronger that way then why do bosses give 0 exp only give you AP instead, In most games bosses gives you a lot of Exp but in FF8 they don't. Secondly the enemies scale with you but you are limited by a damage cap of 9999. So if youre level 25, you'll 1 shot most foes by doing 9999 dmg due to junctioning powerful magic, but if you've grinded up to level 80 the same enemy you could be 1 shotting will survive a max damage attack because if you've level up and it's HP is over 9999. thus making harder for yourself. Thus there are ways to avoid gaining exp from battles. the rewards normally can be gotten multiple ways and it tends to tied to GF refine or Cards, but more importantly you can learn two unique GF from Tonberry, LV UP and LV down, It allows the player to manipulate the enemy's level, increasing or decreasing it to change what type of items can be stolen or won, as well as the type of spells that can be drawn from them, all while making the enemy much weaker or stronger. The Bosses, however, are immune to the ability, so again if you've leveled up too much you've made things harder for yourself. So don't need to level up to get better rewards. The game centred around making GFs stronger NOT characters themselves, as It ads to the plot of the game, using their using GFs to make themselves stronger but inexchange for their memories or something.

FF8 is still easy at level 99 though. The only boss j found hard in the while game was omega and I levelled to 99 on the first seed mission lol

Best playthrough from lately. So glad you decide to start it. BTW about the GF abilities, i think they should be randomizer from the pool of abilities you can get across every GF. That way you wont avoid crucial abilities like card mod. Also, if you manage to draw The End that is GG for any hyper crazy encounter. Hope you dont get one so easily

Yea you deff have to check it out. If you love final fantasy (and I know you do lol) it is awesome. It starts you in the open world with 2 random characters and everything is randomizer. Items enemies bosses where to get other party members ext. plus u can freely travel between the world of balance and world of ruin.

@@marioerb990 there is no installing. I did it on the fly super easy. 1. Download "Maelstrom-0.5" 2. Execute randomiser exe 3. in the randomizer click config and lead the path to the game 4. done

This is going to be an interesting series. My advice is to fight low experience monsters and use the summons to get different items to sell. Then get the magic scroll so you can actually draw spells. Then go and draw the spells from the monsters in the area and then once you feel you are ready go to the fire cavern. Doing it this way has a few benefits. Using the summons to fight will speed up the affection they have and thus faster summons. You also can get some money early on to see if you want to try and purchase different items. By the time you are ready for the fire cavern your summons will be quick when you go up against the boss and also you should be able to get the fire cavern monsters draws easier with the magic junction. Hope this helps.
