Final Fantasy VIII w/HD Mods (PC/Steam) - Omega Weapon

Ya know... I had a different video with a more serious take on the battle ready to upload to please the more serious crowd. But I went with this half-assed test run instead. :D Cause like all of my videos, I tend to half ass the battles. So why break tradition? And who doesn't love a lucky streak of Lion Hearts? I sure do. With a touch of "Rebirth Flame" to save the day. So there. You got your Omega battle. I'm sure I'll do a "serious" run of FF8 later down the line once my updates are complete. :P Those mods, man. Gotta finish.

I'll never forget this fight. I was playing at a friend's house and we would take turns fighting this guy. It was my turn and I was barely surviving. Somehow Squall had survived Terra Break, but was less than 200 HP(113 was the exact amount). I hit Omega with a Lion Heart. After that party members fade away, and Gilgamesh shows up. Gilgamesh hit Omega with one of his attacks and Kills Omega. I will never forget Gilgamesh taking my kill.

In the old game Final Fantasy 8, Omega Weapon inflicted maximum damage 9999, not more, and it was difficult to kill it. In the new game, the limit was removed, which changes the interest in the dan boss and is easy to win!

I would love to see the original faces but with the updated textures for the clothes, I really like the original face look like you did with the "upscaled" version, but the clothes are not detailed like in the other versions. Any chance you could do that?

Troy Davis Jr Force Your Way can actually be selected in the installer. As for Ultimecia's Castle, it's a track I found here on KZbin that I looped.

Jabsy Almost. Except for the battlefields I'm using (because I haven't released them yet) and Project AngelWing (the installer gives Project Eden). Oh, and the characters are slightly different in the installer.

I do have one question, that phoenix summon...is part of the mod or was that part of the original game? I never got it when I played...I think. Been a couple of years since I played.

It's part of the game. Need a Phoenix Pinion to use once. Then the summon is similar to Odin. Random.

Square Enix calling it a "remaster" is a joke, basically all they did was increase the resolution of the character models, the text boxes and nothing else. You could literally get the same effect as what they've done by playing the PS1 version in an emulator.

Actually you can deal more than 9999 without mods but only with GF Eden.

A few ways like converting the right cards from TT. I think you can either steal them from Seifer or he drops them in one of the battles and you can probably also get them from Chocobo World if you have the 2013 version. Probably a few others I'm forgetting at the moment.

AIGHT BRO/SIS/WHATEVER YOU IDENTIFY AS (but let's be real, you're either a sis or a bro)--i recently found your videos a couple or few weeks ago and I have enjoyed them, and I am absolutely ecstatic to see you upload a new one BUUUUUUUUUT... If you thought I wouldn't notice your blatant cheating and NOT call you out on it, you're sorely mistaken, my friend. YES, you vaguely allude to this in your video's description, but you never flat-out admit to FULL-ON CHEAT ENGINE-FUCKERY at around 4:18 of the video, where Zell magically goes from like 600 HP to 7000. Yeah okay we totally wouldn't notice that, right? I won't mention the over-max-damage Lion Heart b/c honestly I feel like that should've been a feature of the game to begin with, but COME ON, that was so obviously cheating with Zell Here's the thing, man--I don't care about cheating. I cheat all the time when I re-play these games, but what really bothers me is that, y'know, the game looks AMAZING, I'll give you THAT, but it's clear that you're not a real fan of FF8. I remember one of your vids where you said you were using a save file of a friend who "liked to live life on the dangerous side" or something like that, and her shit looked just mine did on my ps1 save--Squall, Rinoa, Zell all maxed out 9,999, lionheart, death immunity, etc.--and here YOU ARE, losing TWO party members to FUCKING LEVEL 5 DEATH, LITERALLY WITHIN LIKE TWO MINUTES OF THE VIDEO...and y'know, I gotta wonder... are you REALLY committed to this? Your mods and your efforts are shown in your videos and we all appreciate it, but come on man...you didn't even protect yourself from Death and lost two party members right off the bat--bruh, Death immunity is one of the first things I do, at least for Squall, and you just ignored it. THEN you gave Zell an attack element that Omega Weapon ABSORBS BRUH, COME ON, MAN... You're clearly a talented individual but I don't think Final Fantasy 8 is your thing. Your friend obv knew what she was doing but you clearly don't. Kudos for abusing a clutch phoenix pinion to take advantage of the Phoenix summon but honestly you never should have lost a single party member, and I AM PRETTY SURE you didn't in some of your other vs. Omega Weapon videos. SOOOOO, in conclusion, I hope this entire video is just one big giant bait to FF8 fans like myself to call you out on your mistakes in the vain hope that you might find someone else to discuss this masterpiece of a game with, but I'm pretty sure you didn't even think about that. You just put a bunch of mods together, some of which you prob made yourself (and kudos for that, I respect it) but you clearly don't even know the VERY BASICS of FF8, which any real fan of the game would know. You have to remember that FC made a lot of these mods, and these videos aren't 'let's plays' but they are more demonstrations and tests of the mods themselves. Stop being so into yourself, bro. Everyone can fan-out however they want. You sound like the FF8 police... lol.

...You're being serious? Questioning my love for FF8? After all the hours I put in to help make it better mod-wise? Supporting the game since it's release in 1999? ...And all because... I don't play the way "true" fans want me to? I'm sorry that I don't play to expectations that others want to force upon me. There are so many different ways a person can enter a battle in this game. The description says this is a test run where I was half assing it. I went into this battle with a random save, blindly not knowing what was equipped. I found it funny (you didn't) I survived and I uploaded this one instead of my "serious" battle. Where I had the death immunity, no elemental damage to my weapons, etc, etc. That's what this battle was meant for. To recap what I needed. The serious video was twice the length and people were just going to nitpick anyway. By the way, the odd HP and damage was simply due to the cap limit being lifted. Another mod that I put in the description because that's what I do. Show mods. It also lifts the cap for the enemies as well as increase their stats while lowering mine. That's why Omega didn't die even with Meltdown and took just as long if there were not caps. I never posted any other videos of me fighting Omega. You're right. I worked hard on the mods and went through more work than almost anyone would be willing to do. I had to learn multiple things to even mod it properly without any prior knowledge. Which, again, is because of my passion for this game. I appreciate all those who use these mods. Even you. Thing is...it doesn't mean I owe anyone anything. I don't "owe" people a certain play style. I don't "owe" people the use of the original OST. I'm not playing the game to show people how to win like a guide or beg for likes on a video. Tons of those already exist. I already did my serious run in the PSX days and my first playthrough on Steam while my old friend was playing her serious run that she never got to finish. And people even had problems with her save file. And, hell, she is a better gamer than me! So why please people? Right now, I'm playing the game to have fun. /Fun/. Because modding isn't fun. I didn't think having fun was such against the norm that it negates my "fandom". I'd just like to think people know the difference between someone clearly not trying and someone who clearly doesn't know how to play the game. And yeah, I know the basics. Enough to know that FF8 is not a masterpiece and is a very flawed and sometimes broken game. But it's still my favorite game and that isn't going to change. Nor will passing your judgement on me change it. But you're free to do so. Will I do a serious playthrough on here at some point? When the last remaining projects are completed, yes. Or I'll wait and see what Sega Chief cooks up. Though when people start bringing elitism in, it does make me wonder why I should bother.
