Man, Tidus’s story is so sad. Never real to begin with, just a living memory of someone who once was. A temporary dreamed up existence made by the gods. Shuyin being the person he was based on. If you get the true ending from X-2 it ends happily anyways.

TeleportingThursday That’s one of the endings, but to get the ending where the gods permanently bring him back is the final ending. You have to play through X-2 a second time to be able to unlock it. It’s a big CG scene that’s considered the canon ending. He wakes up in the ocean and everyone welcomes him back.

I don't think I can adequately explain the utter joy I felt when I saw this. I know some people do not like the more rock feel, but for me it added more to it. I felt the emotion and longing far keener with this. Just my perception of the song, since it made me start to cry more than the original. Thank you. I'm a little conflicted about this, tbh. On the one hand, I adore your voice and your covers, and I usually love your personal take or additions to each song. But this song is so dear to my heart and I remember the original being so full of desperate emotion it brought tears to my eyes each time I heard it... and I feel like cover lost some of that in the pursuit of a more modern pop style. Either way, the song sounds beautiful and I LOVE that you're doing a cover of such a nostalgic song!!!

I agree as well. I think what kills it for me the most is putting the rock/dance beat to it. I remember feeling the same way when I heard a dance remix to MJ's 'You Are Not Alone' song. Maybe it's just me but I feel that emotional songs, especially sad ones don't belong with a fast tempo or dance track.
