You missed something in Auron’s story. Specifically, Auron’s relation to Rin. I believe that Rin makes a remark about the wound he received from Yunalesca and how it was hard to imagine anyone could survive it. He also mentions, Rin that is, Auron disappeared the next morning. So from that I believe Auron ran into Rin prior to reaching Kimahri. Rin helped Auron, he left before the next morning and ran into Kimahri just before he died.

Auron is essentially the pinnacle of male maturity. Stoic, mostly devoid of ego, able to freely express himself emotionally without any concerns about how others perceive him, loyal, honorable, honest, compassionate, & wise. He is in all honesty what I believe we should all aspire to be. He even faces his death with acceptance, & without fear knowing he's lived a full life, & overcame his lingering regrets.
@danielramsey6141 Жыл бұрын
Well, you also have to remember that Auron was basically a Ghost, he himself was an Abnormality in the Living world. But he only continued living on because he wants to be a Teacher to the Generation that have NO IDEA the true Story behind SIN. As most Summoners and Guardians basically die before they make it to the Yunalesca’s pad! If you Ask me, Auron knew what he wanted to do by the end of the game. Bring Balance back to the world. And by Deciding to fade away into the Farplane, he’s basically ending the control of the Spirits from holding The citizens of Spira down. The future belongs to them, it doesn’t belong to the Dead who are prisoners to the past!

The scene where Auron is talking to Wakka and Tidus where he says "I wanted to changed the world, but I changed nothing" has always resonated with me. You can feel the pain in Auron's voice as he was naive in thinking that things may be different fr him, and he learned the hard way.

Boy I remember when this game first came out. I went to my cousins house to spend the weekend but he had to work. He came home just before work with FFX and tossed it to me. I was addicted from the moment I turned it on and saw that first cutscene. For the next 3 days my Aunt, all three of my cousins, my cousins wife, and two of my friends watched me quest through this game on a large screen tv with surround sound. I think everyone would benefit by have their own Auron in their personal life. He has seen the sorrow of the world, the futility of religion, yet he keeps it all together so that he can make due with his promise because he a man of his words. Sadly, he's not real, but a figment of our imagination. It's befitting that he is made entirely out of pyre flies because his character cannot exist in human form [in fact, if he was human, we would seen a wide range of emotion with him, which could render our expectation of him null (or feel disappointed)] and thus in our world.

The "legendary trio" are just absolutely fascinating and great characters. Excellently done. I'm a type who usually likes villains over anything else (they tend to have more nuanced backstories for why they do what they do, Seymour falls under this...although the handlebar hair detracts...and the english voice...egads), but Auron is my favorite character *ever*. Partially because of the english voice. I vastly prefer the japanese voices, but Auron's english voice was just perfect. World-weary, mature, measured and concise. Added some subtle bite when neccessary, and occasional humor too. Just fits so perfectly. While he's young, it's pretty good too, just sounds like the stiff-necked hero he wanted to be. I do wish that there's maybe been a few more things fleshed out during his stay in Zanarkand, as 10 years is a looooong time, and he clearly interacted with Tidus. If they end up making another sequal to this game, I really wish they leave the FFX people mostly out (like cameos or including Yuna/Tidus would be fine, as they're stablished to have shit they can do still), because nobody wants it to go the way of that awful audio drama...

+MORTALBALLGT Actually, how about including a story about Shuyin as well?
@videohayvtv87068 жыл бұрын
Yes, please Berk! Tidus (Shuyin) is my second favourite character behind Auron!
@brantleyfoster0218 жыл бұрын
Shuyin was part of the real Zanarkand, that was destroyed by Sin 1000 years earlier. Dream Zanarkand was created and completed just prior to the real Zanarkands destruction, that would exist as long as Yu Yevon continued. So Shuyin would have existed in the dream Zanarkand as well as the real one. Dream Zanarkand was located near the Baaj temple out at sea in a hidden location. Just to be clear here, dream Zanarkand is a real place. It's a common misconception. One of the purposes of Sin to Yu Yevon was to halt civilization from advancing and ever discovering dream Zanarkand's location. The only way Auron got their was because Jecht wished it and took him, because he wanted Auron to look after his son. This allows the people of dream Zanarkand to live normal lives without fear of fiends, like the inhabitants of Spira have to deal with. As Yu Yevon was constantly fixing any damage dream Zanarkand would take. It's most likely that Tidus was born from Shuyins family tree, as a distant descendant of sorts. Shuyin wasn't around when the real Zanarkand was destroyed by Sin. He was under Bevelle activating Vegnagun for the sole purpose of destroying Bevelle's machina army, in an effort to save Len from being killed on the frontlines. Len learned about it and managed to stop Shuyin from going through with it, before they were both shot in front of Vegnagun.
@MurkamiHaruka7 жыл бұрын
Brantley - but the Real Zanarkand was destroyed by the Machina war between Zanarkand and Bevelle. Which isn't revealed until the storyline of FFX-2 when it is told by Maecha. Even then, Yuna, the gang And majority of Spira only knows that A Zanarkand was destroyed by Sin. Through sphere hunting, everyone finds out that Yevon was hiding secrets. It is only because of the final events of FFX, spheres, and other secrets that many people stop trusting in Yevon. There's a lot of missing pieces in FFX to FFX-2, to few to connect Shuyin and Tidus together. Summoners existed during Shuyin And Lynn's time but there is no mention of SIN. There's a lot of theories consisting of dream zanarkand and the real zanarkand. Dream Zanarkand was created by the survivors of the war who were turned into the fayth and dreamed their memories. The summoners purpose according to FFX was to fight sin and continue the cycle. In FFX-2 we find out that summoners had more than one purpose other than fighting SIN. One thing we do not know is what of the summoners that didn't complete their journey to get the final AEON? in Gagazet we find that some summoners don't even make it the the fayth of Gagazet. Are those summoners used for petty battles and wars? In FFx-2 it is mentioned that Bikanel was also destroyed by a machina war......Huh? Wakka mentions that SIN is a punishment for letting things get out of hand, before he was talking about the Machina war. What? I believe that the Bikanel desert wasn't always an island and was at one point connected to Zanarkand and the fall out of the war put a crevice in the land and eventually the land just drifted away. Thus years later the AL Bhed were banished there and that is where HOME was. If that's case, it would explain the immense amount of water that you find when visiting Zanarkand. There's a lot more.....and that lot more is just matching up the storylines....I'm done DX

MurkamiHaruka This is correct, the real Zanarkand was destroyed during the war between Zanarkand and Bevelle. I was only pointing out Yevon's side of things. Sin was Yu Yevons strategy in the war as the news of the war took it's toll on him and he broke. So he tried to save his city by creating another one at sea through the power of all the summoner's who became fayth to remove the reality of what happened in Spira, he then created Sin to serve as armor and it's programming meant that whatever city was nearby, would be destroyed. What was left of the real Zanarkand was its first target. Yu Yevon not only dreamed up the city, but its residents as well. Tidus is most likely connected with Shuyin because of this, as Shuyin was a prominent resident of the city.

When I feel down about the past Aurons quote motivates me. "Searching the past to see the future, I need it not". Also 27:13 goosebumps everytime. Amazing quote. Also thanks for the ffx uploads, helping a hangover rn. Lol

I went through your playlist hoping to find more character stories but I didn't see any. 😭 I loved this vid and the one on the story about the game NOT being time travel(I'm replaying the game for the first time since I was 14) and it made EVERYthing make so much more sense!! I wish you would've finished the rest of the characters. Auron is my favorite, too. The dude is a BEAST! Mentally and physically!

Man I really enjoy how you narrated the whole story, FFX is my favorite game ever and this series of videos are really nice. Cheers!

I don't think you can make a cooler character than Auron. It's a somewhat common character archetype of the veteran that has already once been through the whole thing the rest of the cast is going through but in FFX it was done so damn well. As a kid playing FFX, I cried at the ending scene with Auron but nowhere else in the whole game. His ending was so fitting as he pretty much got everything he wanted and his probably was the only ending that wasn't sad/bittersweet. I thought I was such a bitch for crying at video games at the time, but it was such a good story :DD

I think THE most important event in Spira's history - aside from Yu Yevon summoning Zanarkand - is the Aeons wanting to stop dreaming. This provokes Sin to allow Jecht to get to Spira. This allows Auron to go for Tidus. This allows Tidus to go to Spira. This allows for everyone to question Yevon. This allows for the defeating of Yu Yevon.

I am still wondering why is it that Auron seems to be unable to hold his breath underwater like the others even though he’s unsent? Assuming he can and he doesn’t show it because I can imagine he doesn’t want people to find out that he’s not part of the living anymore but at some points, Yuna’s life was definitely endangered underwater, yet he still didn’t try to make a move to dive and save her. Imagining he actually can’t hold his breath like Blitzers can, then how did he make it to the shore in "dream Zanarkand" when Sin dropped him off? (Sin probably had to drop him off way off in the ocean or else there would probably have been mentions of a giant monster around the city at some point.) I'd be curious to know if there were any moentions on that anywhere. Anyway, your video was great, thank you for spending so much time to bring us such great content

Auron is my favourite character from FFX. My dad used to sit on the couch in the living room when I was playing on the tv 20 years ago and he followed the whole story with me. When Auron said, "I wanted to change the world and I changed nothing, that is my story" I'll always remember my dad welling up.

Great synopsis of my 2nd favorite Character in Video Games. Batman is 1. Wish it weren't cannon that he was around 25, he's designed to be eternally 30's and late 60's, One of the wonderful(Great) characters in history.

Really amazing job on this. It's really appreciated. At 20:35 you query if Auron can communicate with Jecht as Sin. Before Auron throws Tidus into Sin, at the start of the game, Auron looks up to Sin and says "As you wish". Obviously this could just be Auron being Auron, but I think it sounds like a confirmation of something Jecht has said. I'd speculate that they can communicate while Jecht has control, similar to the way Tidus' mind is affected when coming into contact with Sin.
@Croftice16 жыл бұрын
There's Auron asking "Are you sure?" while looking towards Sin and holding Tidus high up. Surely he wasn't asking Tidus, but Sin/Jecht. So some sort of communication was there. He even admits to Tidus later, that he felt Jecht inside Sin in that moment they were sucked into Spira, which is exactly this moment. If he can feel Jecht, why wouldn't he be able to communicate with him? As an Unsent, he has many "advantages" (as he said himself), such communication could be one of those.

Hi! Auron is also my favorite character in ffx. Though there's just an info that was not mentioned. Rin, the owner of the shop, tend to him in before he died in Bevelle. I believe, he's the one who found Auron at the foot of Mt. Gagazette. Thought I'd share :) A truly awesome guy! Ffx was my first FF game and Auron will always be my favorite character :)

Another thought that I think might be plausible is that Yevon's teaching is designed to make the world of Spira, Bevelle in particular to be punished. Everybody living in fear of the cycle of Sin. Yevon realized that Zanerkand was going to be destroyed and he created dream zanerkand to keeps its memory alive, and Sin to not only help protect it, but to punish the ones that destroyed Zanerkand. Even in the destruction of his city, Yu Yevon still wins. I guess I compare it to a Hunger Games situation. The hunger games are done to keep control and give people hope. Sin is puts people through suffering, but also gives them hope with the pilgrimage, which is a sacrifice of at least two people, and the cycle goes on.

I think also another cool little thing about Auron was the fact he wanted 'life' and the alive to make its own decisions rather than take the lead of the team, so death would make all the decisions for life. Like what the Yevonites were starting to do. It's why he took a step back and let Yuna and Tidus take the lead in the journey and only nudged them in the right direction.
