Final Fantasy X Endgame Walkthrough - Episode 1!

Hello all, and welcome to the continuation of my Final Fantasy X Overpowered guide! This is start of the post game portion of Final Fantasy X, which I love.
**THIS WALKTHROUGH CONTAINS SPOILERS THROUGHOUT**
I've recently seen a lot of people playing the Final Fantasy X Remastered release on Xbox One, and there are many people who play it without knowing the best techniques for efficiently grinding the end-game and getting the Dark Aeons and Penance.
Not only that, but it's a very fun game to be overpowered in, which is something I love doing in games.
In this episode we start the endgame grind and get Anima! She's really powerful and I love using her. You can then beat Belgemine and get the Magus Sisters, who are extremely strong, if a little mercurial.
You can also get a No Encounters weapon from Geosgaeno. If you're struggling to beat him, use Mix with 2x Wings to Discovery which will make Trio of 9999 and make all hits do 9999 damage. Then just use Attack Reels, Slice N Dice or a Fire Gem to kill Geosgaeno in 1 turn.
After this we're going to start capturing and the endgame grind! You can go straight onto Sin if you actually want the last few story bosses to be a challenge, but I'll not be bothering with that because I'm just going to straight into the capturing phase and get the Celestial weapons!
For this playthrough, I will be doing some videos of things to watch out for along the way. This focuses on 3 early-game grinds to get way ahead on some skills and have a blast wrecking everything in your path! It also involves a fair bit of Blitzball in Luca, but that bit is sort of optional. This playthrough will be a Standard Grid playthrough because it lets you use Break HP Limit more effectively if that's the route you choose to go down. The Expert Grid has its own advantages, but isn't good for BHPL enthusiasts.
The key points of the endgame grind are:
Capture 10 of all monsters (see my capturing video series!)
Get strong enough to beat One Eye
Farm One Eye for Triple AP + 2 free slot weapons for your main characters
Customize Overdrive to AP and Triple Overdrive on those weapons
Level up using the Don Tonberry trick to get S-levels
Raise stats and until you can beat Juggernaut
Max Strength, then other stats.
Raise Luck to an appropriate level.
Beat the Dark Aeons and Penance.

i've always used the walkway between the two zones (not to rin's shop) instead of that crater.

You can acquire Yuna's ultimate weapon as soon as you capture one of each fiend on Mt. Gagazet. Even in its unpowered up state, just having the weapon in your inventory allows Valefore to break damage limit.

You'd need to have upgraded it with the Moon Crest in order for Valefor to be able to break the damage limit actually friend, and that isn't possible until you've got the airship and completed the Macalania family part post-story. You have Bahamut anyway by this point, so Valefor is largely irrelevant, unless it's versus an enemy type that can't hit her (like Demonlith IIRC).

@@DPhoenix237 I may be mistaken regarding the power up. You may need to upgrade Nirvana but you will already have Yuna's crest from Besaid at this point, so you can do the first upgrade which is all that's needed for Valefore to break the damage limit. *Yuna's crest is located on the beach in Besaid at the very start of the game.

Hey Phoenix! Love the guide so far. Quick question...you stated customizing ribbon to riku’s armor would be best but then bought the armor for Tidus while doing so. You think rikku or tidus is best?

If you're only going to get one, then definitely Rikku. It lets her survive Mega Graviton and then use a Mix to heal all HP and status for all 3 characters, amongst other things.

I can't get tidus's celestial weapon as I can't seem to win the chocobo race.. I only managed to get Yuna, Auron and Rikku's powered up as they are easy

2:30 ok I'm struggling with this boss for some reason. My chars don't do anywhere near the amount of dmg yours is doing and I already got the 3 str spheres on Wakka, Tidus and Rikku. I thought maybe Armor break would help but it's actually immune so that's no good either. I can't kill the boss in time before it sucks one of my chars up. Afterwards it'll spit them out basically KO'ing my entire party. I also find Quick Hit kind of useless. It doesn't seem to speed my chars turn up that much and it cost 36mp per use which is a ton of mp for non-mage chars. In PS2 version I think this was cheaper, ~12mp but on PS3 Remastered it's 3x the cost and I don't even see why it's any good. What am I missing?

Ah yeah, that's why I mentioned about Rikku's Trio of 9999 Overdrive. If you've got the Wings to Discovery from Remiem Temple, mix two and then just Slice N Dice or Attack Reels. If you can't mix Trio, Google or look up the other 9999 Overdrive that applies it one character, mix that and then whichever character gets the 9999 status only has to hit Geos 4 times as he has 32k health IIRC.

Hi, i missed one of the destruction spheres (besaid one), so, can i still get anima? what can i do to fix that?

When you go back you'll have to fight Dark Valefor, so you'll need to either beat her normally (if you're strong enough) or Zanmato her. You might he strong enough to beat her if you do all your capturing and then defeat One Eye and use the Don Tonberry trick to level up a bit if necessary.

How do I get deathprood and stone proof armor I need help I even have the Brady games strategy guide

You have to customise them. You don't really need a Deathproof armour other than the one for Wakkafor fighting Earth Eater though. For Stoneproof use the Petrify grenades that you get for capturing one of each enemy in Djose.

Yeah it's a little tough to balance sometimes; I don't edit the videos, they're just done on Upload Studio, which isn't the best unfortunately.

I'm playing the debug demo version and caladbolg is called 'ultima weapon' and break hp/damage limit are mega hp and mega damage

@@saimaberrii You don't have to scrap the save, you'd just have to play an extra league, maybe two.

@@DPhoenix237 in the debug game, reset only resets your players all the other players and teams stay at their levels. Does it do that in the regular release? I don't remember lol good thing I have your guide so it wouldn't be so bad to just start over on the regular or international version

@@saimaberrii No it doesn't do that in the regular game, but what I meant was if the prizes are still like the regular game then you don't have to reset data. You'd have to get Attack Reels, finish your current league (save before the 10th game), finish the league, Status Reels hoepfully is the next league prize, win that. Then the next tourney prize should be Aurochs Reels, win that. Finish the current league, save before 10th game, prize of the next league would hopefully be Jupiter Sigil. It's an extra few leagues of BB, but that is less time than replaying the whole game. I don't know the mechanics of the debug version tbh, so if you restart them yeah at least you'll be able to follow the guide and be OP 😁

I use Lulu all throughout the game, she's definitely not the weakest. I pretty much always have her in my party, end game included.

Well, I'm not saying she's unusable...but she definitely IS the weakest. She has the slowest animations, the lowest agility, bad accuracy, and with her being Magic-focused she is naturally outclassed once you get passed all the storyline stuff because Magic vs Strength is Wayyyyyy outta whack in FFX. Plus her celestial is irritating to get, and whilst it is perfect for Magic, her Overdrive SUCKS so Triple OD is a waste of time on it. Yuna is a better Black Mage as she's faster and has better Magic and miles better Agility. Who do you think is worse? Auron has great strength and useful Breaks, with decent ODs and an easy Celestial. Wakka has the best OD and damage output of anyone, plus high accuracy. Tidus has the 2nd best ODs and is good for a bunch of other reasons. Yuna is a better black mage, has an easy Celestial and extremely powerful Aeons. Kimahri can be a mix of any of the above, has ok ODs and stats, and a good Celestial in terms of having E&C. Rikku is the best character in the game. Lulu is useable, but is actually thoroughly outclassed and is largely a waste of time if you use Yuna properly.

@@DPhoenix237 To each their own but I don't find Lulu or her overdrive weakest in the least. If I have to say anyone is weakest even though I find no one weak, I would have to say Kimahri even though I really like him.

@@princessmagical Its hurt me to say it because i love Lulu but she's useless in end game for 3 main reason : 1- Her overdrive deal absolutly no dammage, specialy on dark Aon . And even worst you lost dps while using it... Double Cast is easier to use, make more dmg and everybody can have it. 2- her final weapon is magic based , so build her arround Strengh make it not viable ans it's simply a lost f potential. 3- even if you build her with full strengh and Quick It ...her attack animation take 3h to finish And i can add a 4 for the thunder dodge.. but it's still easier then this dumb chocobo's balloon race... So yeah Lulu is great for story mode (even if Yuna is way better in black magic then her) but when you start Dark Aon and Arena's monster you start to realise that she's buried by Wakka , Rikku , Tidus and Yuna. If only her overdrive could hit 99999 per hit (or at least 60k to 80) she will be S-Tier
