I love this song, especially the hymn mixed with the Final Fantasy theme and heavy electric guitar at the end. Gives me chills.

Yeah it's definitely a remix, I remember downloading either via torrent or perhaps ocremix back in either 2004 or 2005. Either way I remember it being awesome. I lost it when changing computers and could no longer find it. The fact it's legitimately fooled a lot of people shows how good the song was. With a bit of fleshing out it really would be most excellent

This one is awesome, even moreso than the one that was used It implements all "To Zanarkand," "Hymn of the Fayth," "The Prelude," & the quick-tempo'd 16 notes you used to hear at the beginning of normal battles in old FFs in the background, which is awesome :D

I think this wasnt used due to the nature of the Final "battle"... this is leaps and bounds better than what was used. At 1:03 the song picks up with the guitar synth which gives me the feeling that YuYevon was supposed to be a BAD ASS final Boss. But Alas.....

One rumor about this track is that Seymour was supposed to be the real final boss and this was suppose to be the song. Either way, it's an epic tune
@reloadpsi3 жыл бұрын
It's a fan-made remix. It's really good though. Yu Yevon just being a husk that does nothing but desperately heal itself is meant to be symbolic that you've defeated its entire "arsenal" of weaponry - Sin, the temples, and the Aeons - and now nothing stands between you and its defeat. You must basically step on the metaphorical (and somewhat literal) bug to save the world from its malicious intents. I used to really shit on the idea, but in hindsight I think it's brilliant. MGS3 would do a much better job of the symbolic mercy kill a few years later, but if I talked about the ways Metal Gear presented story better than FFX I'd never stop talking :P

I know it’s fan made but goddamnit this sounds so fucking much like it actually belongs in the game it’s not even funny. In a perfect world this plays after Yu Yevon is defeated and Seymour shows up from the dead for a fifth fucking time and possesses his spirit or some shit and summons the first form of sin using yevon’s soul or whatever as the fayth. Oh wait, that might be the plot for FFX-3 if Nomura and Company stop beating FF7’s corpse beyond death.

Maybe i got a bootleg copy of the game. I cant remember from way back then. But i do remember owning the soundtrack CD a year before i played the game. I was hyped when i got to the last zone because i was gonna here this song and Contest of Aeons on my surround sound syatem while playing. I got there and this song played for the last boss and Contest of Aeons didnt have any reverb. I was let down. But i figured the PS2 couldnt take all that layered reverb in the songs. No one else got this version of the song on the last boss fight?

@@SolidSnake11Official i remember what i saw. But as i stated, i think i had a bootleg copy of the game. Back then people did replace music files in video games before burning them to CD.
@SolidSnake11Official7 ай бұрын
@@Urrelles Seems very unlikely in FFX case, considering they would have to convert the music to FFX's sequenced format, which to my knowledge while there's a PSF2 rip of FFX, there's no tool to convert the music. Then there's the whole sheanigans of the game's files not being visible in the disc table of contents, FFX research didn't really took off much till 2007\2008 when people were trying to make an undub out of the International version, so I don't think anyone in 2001\2002 would bother to do this sort of thing for no apparent reason.
@Urrelles7 ай бұрын
@@SolidSnake11Official I didnt play FF10 till about a year after X2 released which was around 2005. I was in the Art Institute and got my hands on the 3D models of FF10 in a viewer with steps on how to rip the models from that viewer into Maya for animation and rigging. Those models were what interested me enough to play the game. I had also spent about 3 years listening to the FF10 ost from a disk i obtained from a friend at Gamestop, which made me interested in the game. I never played a single FF game launch year. I always played them 2 or 3 years too late when everyone moved on. Heck i still havent touched FF15 yet. So if people were ripping game models from the PS2 games in 2004 / 2005, then someone could possibly swap music in a bootlegged game. But i know for a fact when i got to the final boss, a song that sounded like this played, which made me upset because it was so different from the Yu Yevon fight from my soundtrack CD. The contest of Aeons song was also lacking reverb and didnt sound nearly as epic. So i chalked it up as the PS2 not having the memory to play such a song with so many instruments and heavy reverb. When i played FF7, i found out painfully that the PS1 had a subpar midi board so i figured all FF games used one and therefore the soundtracks may be wimpier than advertised on the demo soundtracks. Thats what happened with Midnight Club 2. Sound track demo CD was completely different from the ingame actual soundtrack.
@logandorion293211 жыл бұрын
i know right! the same old boss battle theme gets kinda old after awhile you know? to be honest... i was expecting to play the track 'Hurry' when you're facing him, it sound more appropiate than the normal boss battle theme.
@bloodyidit45069 жыл бұрын
The reason for the low sound quality could be that this was composed with a midi player or a digital program, and the idea is that these instruments would be replaced with the more standard ones and the actual hymn of the faith singers. It's a thing I do for my music. first I plan it out, then improve the instruments and test it until it sounds just right.

The original was way more appropriate. It was darker and more powerful and made you feel like the battle was truly a bittersweet choice between life and death. This one is just too playful and not serious enough.

@Eragarev9 жыл бұрын

@blindfollower9 жыл бұрын
Joseph Wagner Go back and play FFX, the last boss was nothing dark or serious, it was just a waste of gameplay time, but I will agree the music fit perfectly because the battle was more of a joke than anything, it was not a "bittersweet choice between life and death" every character has auto-life by the time you make it there.
@Eragarev9 жыл бұрын
You've got to put the gameplay elements aside and actually pay attention to the story. The battle was meant to be ceremonial and from the story standpoint, was the fight that was going to wipe Tidus from existence. The hard piano, strings and darker tone make the final battle from the game much more powerful. Original Sin is *obviously* lighter in tone and feel. It's kind of airy.. might have worked better for that fight against Sin when you were in the sky. No, the developers made the right choice if they were choosing between the two of these.
@EpicFailureFive9 жыл бұрын
Joseph Wagner I agree that Original Sin doesn't fit the Yu Yevon boss fight in the game. What they should have done is allowed you to save after the fight with Jecht, that way they could have had the battle without the "Auto-Life". Fight all the aeons and Yu Yevon like in the game, but without Auto-Life. Then give Yevon a second form, a Penance recolor perhaps, that is faster, harder, and more upbeat. Have Original Sin for this version. Or they could have just used it for Penance.
