Awesome tips! I already have 30 or so fortune spheres from defeating the Earth Eater my way but at least now I know it can be done a lot quicker. Just need those Luck Spheres now; bought 99 clear spheres and was about to erase a Luck+1 node that I had Yuna accidentally learn but realised I had no Luck Spheres! 🤪

It's worth noting that if you plan on farming Yojimbo, he drops Master Spheres about 12%~ of the time. You can use these to activate previously activated Luck nodes with other characters rather than farming all of the additional Fortune Spheres.

@@Kozlov81 As long as you don't defeat Dark Yojimbo in the final fight near the cave entrance, you can run back to the save point to save your game and fight him again. It's been a while, but I recall there being 4-5 individual fights you must win against him in sequence. As long as you don't fight him the last time and restart, you can farm him endlessly.

My setup for Earth Eater: Tidus, Wakka, Somebody else with entrust. Open with either attack reels, or slice and dice. Then follow up with attack reels or slice and dice. Whichever wasn't just used. Third character uses entrust on wakka, and finish Earth Eater with a second attack reels. Overdrive is set to Victor. You'll get half the overdrive from winning the fight. Spam confirm after the victory to enter a dingo fight quickly and continue to spam confirm to attack and kill it instantly. This'll max your overdrives in a few seconds. Then back to Earth Eater. It's much more effective as you don't need to kill your allies every time. Just overdrive, overdrive, entrust, overdrive, win, dingo, Max overdrive, repeat. Also, something of note. Use the options to change the selection to remember your inputs instead of having to sift through the menu. Saves time when looking for entrust
@DPhoenix237
@DPhoenix237 2 жыл бұрын
That's much slower than the methods shown here, though. Entrust emerged takes about 1.5 minutes at least. This is about 50% faster, at least, and doesn't rely on Victor. The Tidus Loner method is easier and about as quick as the Entrust method, too.

If you get bored of Earth Eater and have boatloads of money, bribe Maelspike with 200000 gil for an Attribute Sphere. Cool thing about Attribute Sphere is that you can activate the node wherever you are. This method, however, is expensive.
@DPhoenix237
@DPhoenix237 Жыл бұрын
Yeah, I tried doing that but it's not time-effective unfortunately just because of how long it takes. However, it is a good alternative if you've done all the other stat maxing and have a ton of money from selling leftover Triple OD weapons from EE. You only get one Attribute Sphere per bribe so it actually behoves you to Bribe the Maelspike for as little as possible; you can bribe them 120-130k and then repeatedly bribe them for 1 gil until they give you the Sphere if ime doesn't matter and you're trying to be as efficient as possible with your gil.

For those struggling with "keeping the stats low to fill overdrive gauge with one hydraulic press" - you might set the mode to "victor", which will fill half the gauge immediately after the win, then fight any monster (dingo for example) and there you have your full gauge. In no way it is as flawlessly time-efficient...But quite fast and not too bothersome.
@DPhoenix237
@DPhoenix237 3 жыл бұрын
Always a good tip; I have mentioned it elsewhere in the guide, but never a bad thing to have it reiterated. Victor + Triple OD is so useful. I would always say fight Sleep Sprout ir Vidatu once you're strong enough to OHKO the consistently, as they give great rewards most of the time too, and are essentially as easy as a dingo once you can dispatch them in one hit (which is hilarious, but accurate!). It can add up to a lot of cumulative time when farming things like HP Spheres on a Break HP limit Playthrough obviously.

Great video really helped. Just wanted to ask with regards to maxing out the sphere grid for all characters. I’m gonna go for 114 luck for tidus, wakka and rikku so they can beat the dark aeons and penance. Then after that I’ll max out everyone else for the platinum trophy. Would it save me time if i use clear spheres on some of those extra luck spheres and fill them with something like strength which can easily be activated. I don’t look forward to farming fortune spheres for the 4 other characters just to get a trophy .
@DPhoenix237
@DPhoenix237 3 жыл бұрын
You're welcome, I'm glad you found it useful! And yeah, for the trophy/achievement for Maxing the grid with all 7 characters, just beat Penance and make a separate save file afterwards. Then just farm MP Spheres from Vidatu. It goes down in a single hut and you get 2 MP Spheres for every common drop. Then when the whole grid is full, clear the Luck nodes and replace those with MP Spheres too.

Hmmm, if she is full health it can't do. It does 93.75% of your max health, and as it's percentage-based it can't kill you if you're at full health. You just start the battle with all 3 at full health and use Attack Reels, Hydraulic Press does 93.75% and fills everyone's gauges, Rikku mixes two potions and then Tidus Blitz Ace for the kill.

@@DPhoenix237 Awesome thank you! I'll power up both of them then
@Myskully14
@Myskully14 4 жыл бұрын
For Earth Eater I personally use Tidus because I mess up Wakka's Attack Reels too much. I have the same gear for him, including powered up Celestial, but I just mess up his overdrive enough that statistically it's faster to use Tidus. If you're good at not messing it up... by all means use Wakka. Now, I don't really understand a few things you do. Why do you kill off your party mates? I think it's faster... and more aesthetic... to just have them escape. It may be annoying when they somehow fail to escape but I think it's still faster. Also, with Max Stats (And all other stats should be max before you go for Luck), I don't need to worry about anything on my armor except auto haste. Having those other things on your armor is a waste of time and resources and the time spent getting that armor should be included in your time for farming. All you need is your main armor with Auto Haste on it. I have char 1 and char 2 escape (I use Auron and Kimahri, both with Auto Haste (Because I already have that armor on them and because if they fail to escape it ensures I have enough time to keep trying). Auron is nice too because of First Strike on his Celestial) and then just defend until Slice & Dice. Doing this I have Earth Eater on his back before he gets a chance to hit me. If he ambushes me I just automatically Flee with Auron. It's faster to Flee an Ambush than it is to regroup if EE Megaton's Tidus... and it's faster than getting a new set of armor with death proof and auto haste on it. Finally, I don't need auto regen or shell either. I'm hit with flare twice per fight. I have 20k health. Right before the last Slice & Dice I just cast Curaga on myself... every other fight. Without Break HP Limit you would have to do that every fight... but its so fast that it's hardly slower than Defend because you can use the config option to remember your last used ability and just spam X 3 times instead of Triangle once. It's almost as fast as just defending. This is certainly faster than either getting a new set of armor or hasting the boss (Though that is a good idea. The problem is the setup with reflect and haste and the first knockdown takes too long for it to be worth it compared to just quickly casting a curaga at the end of each fight). Finally, I'm going for 255 luck on all characters. I am 3 down. It seems like maxing Luck is awful... but that's really only if you try to sit down and do it all at once. I instead recommend splitting it up over 8 days. 58 Luck Spheres on Day 1 takes about an hour or two (I cleared all nodes on the SG. That's why I needed 58). Then just spend a little less than 1 hour per day getting enough Fortune Spheres to take 1 character from base to 255. Done in 8 days. Do Tidus first an activate Luck nodes every 2 kills until his luck is high enough that he crits 100% of the time. After that just Farm 60 Fortune Spheres in an hour once per day until each character is done.
@Myskully14
@Myskully14 4 жыл бұрын
Also, for sanity reasons, I suggest a mindless strategy against Greater Sphere instead of a time saving strat. Just have 3 stat maxed characters (Besides luck obviously) with powered celestials, auto-haste, and quick hit. Just spam X while doing something else (Like watching KZbin videos XD). It's not as fast... but way less stressful. And you don't have to do GS nearly as much as Earth Eater so it's a one and done.
@DPhoenix237
@DPhoenix237 4 жыл бұрын
Well, I appreciate that you're entitled to your opinion my friend, but there are a few things I disagree with here. Escaping is not faster, especially not cumulatively considering the times that they'll fail to escape. Attacking and Escaping are about the same amount of time, except attacking can't fail. Killing them off makes no real difference as Earth Eater will kill them at some point anyway. The time farming Wakka's armour is negligible; you very literally don't have to go out of your way or use extra resources at all. Auto-Regen is from two Kottos kills, which is a minute a most. Auto-Shell you get from capturing rewards, same with Deathproof, and Auto-Haste is two Monster arena bribes. The whole armour takes about 3 minutes cumulatively to make, so that's virtually nothing at all. 255 Luck is a waste. It literally does nothing over 230 Luck, and even that is for one enemy in the entire game (Dark Mindy) and is only relevant if you're fighting them together and want to beat them without summoning. Otherwise 230 Luck is just overkill, and should only be used if you're an absolute completionist and want 99k HP and perfect stats. Finally, that Tidus method is really sub-optimal man. There's no way that escaping with two characters and then using Loner Tidus whilst getting hit with Flares is 1:35 per fight. No way. I've tested it extensively. The Reflect method is way better. Also, don't need a Break HP Limit armour to do it, which makes it better.
@Myskully14
@Myskully14 4 жыл бұрын
@@DPhoenix237 My stopwatch indicated that from hitting Yes in the Monster Arena Screen to the AP screen was 01:42.06... and that was with 2 failed escapes and casting Curaga before the last Slice & Dice. It is only a few seconds slower than your method, but like I said, I mess up Wakka's Overdrive too much which is why I use this method. That doesn't mean my method is better obviously... it means I suck at Wakka's Overdrive. I can't even kill Auron and Kimahri anyway. They evade all the time. So if I were to kill off the other characters I'd have to get auto haste on armor for them first for them to be able to try to attack Tidus... which is again a waste of time. Which leads us into the armor. You're calculating your time as if you already have everything. Its true that Auto-Shell, Auto-Regen, and Deathproof are negligible... but Auto-Haste is not. Even if you cam technically get those mats really fasst by bribing... you first have to have the Gil to bribe. You are not including that time in your calculations. Sure, farming Gil via the Kottos or Sleep Sprout method isn't too bad, but my point was that the every so slight few seconds that armor will save you will not out weigh the time it takes to make the armor. I believe I am right... but I digress... I have not timed all steps totally to actually prove that... and I'd have to time each step multiple times to really prove that. So it's just my hypothesis. And yeah, 255 Luck is not needed, but you don't need more than 100 anything really to beat the game's story. So if you're going to go for post game content... why not be a completionist about it? I'm using this method to farm Luck for Max Stats across the board and as high health as possible.

@@Myskully14 Let's keep this light, because I like your comments on my channel and appreciate the support, so please understand I'm not being offensive here or anything buddy, but there are some gaps in your reasoning. Let's say there are three ways of farming Luck; Wakka Loner, Tidus Reflect and Tidus Flare (your Tidus one, where you take hits from Flare). Wakka is just far, far quicker. I know you're saying you can't use it because you're no good at Reels, but this is crucial for the argument about getting armours. It's not a few seconds faster...it's 30 seconds faster per battle. That's about 33% quicker than the next quickest method, Tidus Loner. If getting 230 Luck with each character, that's saving you hours of time. Literally hours; I've done a 99k HP 230 Luck playthrough on PS3 and Xbox One, and the Xbox One playthrough only took 105 hours total, which is incredibly quick for a 99k playthrough. The time spent to get Wakka's Deathproof/Shell/Regen/Haste armour is no extra time at all. There is no 'money farming' time to take into account. If you do things in the correct order, there is no chance in hell that you should need to farm money for that armour. You do the story, then capturing. Purely from fighting the mimics you find when capturing 10 of each monster in the arena, you should have more than enough money to get three characters to the point where you can stat max easily. Wakka doesn't need his 'final' armour for a while at that point, so you just make him his Earth Eater armour immediately. 3 abilities from capturing rewards, Auto-Haste from two bribes. It is literally a minute extra time, if that. Farm Magic defense/Triple AP weapons, max Strength/Defense/Magic Defense/170 Agility. Now you can best Earth Eater, which makes tons of money anyway from selling Triple AP weapons. Watch my Break HP Stat Maxing series; I did the whole thing without ever farming money specifically. I don't think I even needed the Besaid trick for that 3 million gil. So that's Wakka's method, which is by far the fastest and needs one extra time or money for the gear if done properly. For the two Tidus methods, Reflect is just better, flat out. There's no argument that the Curaga/Flare version is better. They both need the same number of hits to beat EE. The time wasted in your method is because you have the animations of getting hit by Flare each time, and then healing with Curaga. Even if it is 1:42 per fight, that's still slower than the Reflect method, which is 1min 35 seconds, roughly. And the key point here is that there's no advantage in your method, or time to be gained at any point in the process. It's actually longer in some respects. Yours needs a BHPL Auto-Haste armour or whatever, and 255 Magic Defense to take Flares. The Reflect method needs a simpler armour at zero opportunity cost because Auto-Reflect isn't useful versus any other enemy than Jumbo Flan and the Star Curtains aren't necessary for anything else, and are obtained as a capturing reward. No wasted Wings To Discovery, no need to even max anything other than Strength and 170 Agility. You can beat Earth Eater 100% without ever taking a single hit, even with min HP/DEF/MAG DEF. So the Reflext method takes less time to get the necessary armour and less time to so the actual battles. There's no time saved anywhere there, so it's just a straight comparison of the time per battle, which is quicker for the Reflect method. It's no easier in terms of concentration or even setting the cursor to memory. Tidus' actions are defend, Overdrive and Curaga in your method; they are Defend, Overdrive and one Haste in mine. Same. The escape/Attack thing is the exact same for all three methods and makes very little difference. If you can't hit Kimahri or Auron, then it's because you didn't quite think through the order that you did Stat Maxing in. The two characters that you're going to use alongside your Fortune Sphere farming character shouldn be the last two that you raise Luck for. That way Tidus or Wakka can raise their Luck first and always hit them, or Evade & Counter them. This means that there is zero percent chance of not getting the outcome you want, versus the irritating action of having to fail Escapes every now and again. Auron and Kimahri are the best to use for this, and they don't need Auto-Haste armours because after the first battle they're always at 1HP; they just need a random armour with SOS-Haste. Easily customisable using the capturing rewards, and again literally no relevant opportunity cost or time needed. Auron has Masumune for First Strike if needed and Kimahri can have a First Strike/Initiative weapon on any random 2 slot weapon from capturing rewards, and a Return Sphere which you naturally get plenty of. So to conclude: Wakka Loner is significantly faster and takes no time to farm the armour, you should get it (and the money for it) naturally. This isn't even comparable to the Tidus methods. The Tidus Auto-Reflect version is quicker than any non-Wakka method, has no opportunity cost, can be done earlier than any other method and has no drawbacks versus any other Tidus method. None. If you're not using Wakka, Tidus-Reflect is quicker and easier. The time argument for the actual battles is literally that it needs 4x S&D for either, same number of defending turns, same number of attack/Escape turns (regardless of which you use) and then the difference is Flare and Curaga animations vs EE Hasted stand-up animations. Obviously the standing animations are inarguably quicker so no other method can ever be quicker than Tidus-Reflect. You mentioned running if you get ambushed, but that's a pure waste if 15k. One of your other characters should always have an Initiative weapon; there's no reason not to. Attack versus Escape is negligible, but attack is always better if Stat Maxing is done in the correct order of characters because it only needs SOS-Haste instead of Auto-Haste, and cannot ever fail (unlike Escape). It doesn't make a huge difference either way. Last thing, you said about being completionist and getting 255 Luck, but it depends on your definition of completionist. 255 Luck not only wasted significant time (25 useless Luck per character) but even the aesthetic 'value' of having 255 Luck is actually detrimental to your party because it wastes space on the grid that could otherwise go towards Evasion or Accuracy, which whilst not needed for the party will in fact raise the Aeon's stats higher. Having 255 Luck is therefore not only unnecessary, but also wastes time and is detrimental to your Aeons. I can't consider that 'perfect stats' when it is deliberately sub-optimal. Still, like I said I appreciate the support and am glad you watch the content! Check out the Break HP Limit Stat Maxing series if you haven't already.

@@DPhoenix237 believe me, I enjoy the content and I am not trying to be a dick or anything like that. So no worries from me. I simply wanted to offer an alternative method. A few things. First, I failed to consider a few things with the armor. I did not think about SOS Haste instead of Auto... which is much cheaper and easier to get. So that is viable there. Further, I don't know why I didn't consider this, but in your reflect strategy I was thinking you would still need Auto Shell... so I was thinking you would have to cast 2 different abilities on yourself (Reflect AND Haste). But no, you can replace the Auto Shell with Auto Reflect and you are right it is equal using this strat over Curaga. Still though, that doesnt SAVE time... its equal in time... which means that my strat is faster with BHPL. Now, as far as BHPL.. you do not need it at all for my strat. I just happen to have it. The only difference BHPL makes is that I can cast Curaga every other fight (20k HP), or every three fights (30k HP... you can't go more fights with more health because Curaga caps and wont full heal with 1 cast). The 1:42 time I gave above is casting Curaga EVERY fight because you don't have BHPL. BHPL just means that you can go a few fights without having to heal.... which makes my strat faster than reflec/haste because you have to cast haste every fight. Again though... thats only if you have BHPL. If you don't have BHPL then it's equal to use the Auto Reflect/Haste strat instead of Curaga. Now running from ambushes is definitely a waste of money, but like you said that amount is absolutely trivial because the amount of money made from weapons and armor from Earth Eater is so great. Auron has Initiative so I use him to flee on Ambushes. I only do this because I think it's faster to do that than to rez and heal if Tidus is Mega Punched (Which would be trivial if I had deathproof... but I dont because even if the others can get away with SOS Haste... Tidus cannot... and I don't want to waste the Wings/Gil to get another Auto Haste). A big part of the issue here is loss of turns. If EE hits 2 of the 3 characters on an Ambush then I may not get the other characters out of the fight and a full OD Guage before EE's next turn. That's why I just flee and restart (Takes just a few seconds). I may not be efficient in that method... but that's just my two cents on fleeing. Now with Wakka, the point there is that my method works exactly the same with Wakka. No difference at all except EE will die 1 turn sooner (Which actually makes the Curaga method better as well because Wakka will only get hit with 1 Flare per fight instead of 2... so he can cast curaga every other fight without BHPL... and with BHPL may even go 5 or 6 fights without casting Curaga). So just because I suck at Reels doesn't mean others can't use this exact strat with Wakka instead of Tidus. In fact as I said this strat is even better with Wakka. Finally, the mention of Aeons. You're talking about wasting nodes that you could use for Evasion and Accuracy, but all 7 of my toons have 255 in every stat... 999 MP... and BHPL. As far as I know Aeons Stats scale off of Yunas all the way to 255... 999 MP... and 9999 HP. So BHPL doesn't benefit Aeons, but 255 Luck does. So all of my aeons have (almost) all stats maxed because Yuna has 255 luck, Eva, Acc, ETC. Exceptions are Bahamut and Yojimbo for Magic, (236), and most aeons do not have max Agil or EVA (Not that they need to be at 255). I could be wrong about that, but I believe aeons stats scale with Yuna's all the way to 255. So besides just being Aesthetic have 255's across the board... it does benefit the Aeons. Anyways, the main reason I thought your method was bad was because you had to cast 2 different abilities instead of 1... which adds up over the long run and makes the process less mindless because you have to go through menus instead of just spamming X. However, as we have established, I was wrong about the armor, so that point is moot. I think my method is still faster if you have BHPL and can go a fight or a few without casting Curaga... especially if you can 2hit across the board with Wakka... but without BHPL I can see how yours shaves a few seconds off (Which does add up over the 240 some odd kills you need for 255 Luck across the board). It's been fun theorycrafting about this. Thanks.

Yup, gotta start the first battle with Tidus having full Overdrive. You're absolutely correct about Oblivion, too. It's actually Attack Reels + Oblivion that kills. Without Wakka you need to do Slice N Dice > Oblivion (Sphere kills Anima) > Slice N Dice. You also need to Entrust Overdrive back to Tidus first, and heal at the save sphere between each fight. I think what I meant to put in the guide was that if you didn't have Caladbolg powered up (because you couldn't get the Sigil) you could use Wakka and Yuna instead. Good catch! @@DPhoenix237 Yup, I've been doing that. Rikku entrusts Tidus, slice & dice, Oblivion, second slice and dice. Not so fast but it works nice. If you're just sticking with 9999HP, then 255 Accuracy, and Luck + Evasion totalling 290. I like 114 Luck +176 Evasion because it doesn't take much longer to get 114 Luck compared to getting 85 Luck anyway imho. This is from one of my Reddit posts about it: . The relationship between Luck and Evasion/Accuracy is a little bit complicated, but it boils down to this. The maximum Evasion needed is Luck + Evasion = 290. Luck of 114 and 255 Accuracy/176 Evasion is enough for every single enemy except Dark Mindy, and there is never a practical application for being able to hit Dark Mindy with regular attacks because a) you either fight her by herself and easily take her out with just Overdrives b) you fight the Dark Magus Sisters together and you can kill any of them with regular attacks before they use Delta Attack anyway or c) you fight them together and kill them before Delta Attack using Magic, which doesn't need Luck or Accuracy. However, even with the Standard Sphere Grid there isn't enough space to have 99k HP, 255 Strength/Def/Magic Def/Magic with 170 Agility and 114 Luck/176 Evasion/255 Accuracy. In order to have effectively perfect stats you therefore need 99k HP, 999 MP, 255 Strength, Defense, Magic Defense, 170+ Agility, 230 Luck, 0 Accuracy and 60 Evasion

Haha. You could use a team the 3 women quite easily if you really wanted to. Earth Eater would be a bit of a grind unless you maxed one of either Wakka's or Tidus's stats, but still not tooooo bad and you could just go to 85 Luck to keep grinding to a minimum. Lulu with Onion Knight and 255 stats is just as viable as any other character late-game, outside of Overdrives, and with Rikku and Yuna you'd still have the main tools needed for all the DAs. Penance would take longer (as none if the women have counter skills on their Celestials) but the fight would will be the same.
