Not sure if you found this out yet or not, but while fishing is generally slow to start with, using a Lu Shang's before 30 slows it waaay down to "combat" RMT. Once you're like 30 or 31, you're able to safely use Lu's till you get your Ebisu(which is the better fishing rod you were thinking of). To also help with skill ups you can look into fisherman's feasts and Pelican rings.

Thanks for the info! I definitely did notice an upswing in skill-ups once I got fishing past 30 (sitting in about the 50s now). I'll keep an eye out for those items you mentioned; would be nice to feature those in a future crafting ep (will definitely be sure to give you a shout-out when we do). @@PIERSO86 Not a problem ~! Fisherman's Feasts can be gotten through RoE and I believe cooking(fact check me on the cooking part) and the Pelican ring is from the fishing contest in Selbina. Enjoy the increased skill ups while they last, as with all crafts, they slow back down(though prob not as bad as pre-30 with Lu's) around 60 or 70.

You kept catching a boat :) - in case you didn't know that ephermeral moogle in the culinary guild will store all your crystals and even turn 12 of them into clusters for free.

Yeah, Rita has been making really good use of that Moogle, especially at her Mog Garden! That's really awesome that SE made that a thing (given all the struggles with storage). Thanks for the info & the comment!
