Final Fantasy XI: How do WE Defeat Kalunga V25? An Odyssey Guide

Hi friends. Today we have our kill run for Kalunga on V25 level. This fight took us 23 tries! Our final setup was PLD DRK COR BRD WHM GEO. A few tips that I think helped push us to victory: (a) Positioning is king; (b) Use as many different Weaponskills as possible to breakup the Weaponskill Wall; and (c) try, try again!

Congrats on your win, my group cleared the other day too. We did a 2 fight strategy with Sam, Bst, Whm, Pld, Geo, Rdm in fight 1 where we kited Kalunga and brought him to 74% without clearing his aura so we wouldnt increase procs for fight 2 then on fight 2 we had Run, Brd, Sch, Drk, War, Cor and the Brd kited the adds downstairs while we fought upstairs and we used capper to hand off the second add to the brd at 40% and reset enmity which was a problem for us towards the end of the fight. So many ways to do this fight but they all come down to getting lucky to a certain extent, we did have many lahars though >.

1% is the longest % because it actually ranges from 1.9999....% to 0.0000...1%. Percentage shown by the game is always floored, except under 1% because then it would be floored to 0 and that would mean it would be dead when it's actually not, so they keep the percentage shown to 1% until it's actually dead.

The footage comes from a live stream and the picture covers the webcam capture of my face. I'm of the opinion that having my face there talking out of sync from the narration would be much worse (note: I do remove the image at the end when I use the stream audio that is sync'd after the win).
