I did this fight at lvl 28 vaan, 29 basch, 29 ashe, 9 balthier & fran, and 14 penelo.. It was on the last 5000 or so health where basch went from doing 800 or so damage to only 100, and blizarra was killing everyone. Around the 1000 mark, balthier was the only one alive. Before it could do another blizarra I quickly got a mist for him and lucked out to get a 2 combo all by himself, which finished it off. Legit the closest call yet.

This was a tough one. My party was around lvl 28 and he slapped with the Blizzaga. Ended up killing the Gil Snapper with Balthier, last man standing with like 300 hp lul.

There’s a cool mod for PC that lets you change the weather in Giza at will you just have to speak to weather eye or what ever his name is.

Bruh level 38 I just leveled up to 27 looking for the branches and killing things. ^^' kinda making me wanna hold on this quest and continue the story line for abit. 😅😅😅 Thanks for your tutorial man I was wondering why this thing hasn't appeared yet I left twice since the chicken one you had to kill everything and leave and come back for it to appear. killed at level 30, got to 16 hit quickening. used little life hack and did it with Larsa in the party as a guest.

How the heck do you get such a high chain? The most I've ever gotten was 9 - I press all 4 buttons when the thing comes up right away just so one is pressed fast and whichever one comes up I take - but after 4-5 usually it won't let me press any more. As I said the most I've ever gotten though was 9 - probably through luck. I'd just like to know what I can do to get a higher # again lol

I'm trying to get canopic jar and I got a 17 hit quickening on the trickster

Even now anymore, the most I ever get is 5-7 :-( And I'm pressing the buttons moments after they are shown - I don't always know what the buttons that will be pressed but I press one and then another and usually one will click. Do I need to match a level of quickening or something like 1-1 or 2-2 or something like that for it to continue so long? I'm now level 30 and 'just' continued up the mountain to continue the story after doing the Feral Retriever Hunt. I may try Trickster now if people think it's doable at 30 but I don't feel like getting my ass kicked yet again. I usually for many bosses like IxTab will Quickening chain then a ton of ethers on Ashe who has Belias then summon Belias. I sorta wish I could get a 2nd esper and still fight w/ Larsa in my party as a guest lol but it's not possible (unless you get him back later - I dunno - never got past BurOmisace/Miriam. To get the Canopic jar, do I just need that phobic thing you get from the gil snapper hunt and something from Trickster? If so that's another reason to reconsider doing it now.

Goddamnit lol - I got Trickster down to below 1/4 health - then this goddamned Ice Elemental entered the scene and screwed me all up - By themselves I can do them easily but when I have something as hard if not harder than them WITH them, then I had a game over grrrr....I'll have to try it again. Maybe this time I'll get it and maybe I'll save my quickenings until last in case that clown shows up so I can end him fast and get back to pummelling Trickster...Grrr lol

what ? Level 37 ? i didnt know that xD ... cause i approached him with my level 20 group. I did beat him by debuffing with blind, silence and slow. Also did bait on my tank so he wouldnt attack my vulnerable casters. Took awhile but worked :D. The main issue here was that i had to take a lot of ether, since the MP went down rather quickly. Close the end also had to use some phoenix down, since the Gil Snapper hit me a bit more often somehow.

I never considered casting silence on him DOH! I did Sleep, nope, I did slow, Immobilize (both of those worked) - even disable(failed) and because that dumb silicon tortoise attacked me at the same time so I oiled them both (Oil doesn't work lol) but I ended him w/o too much trouble. You're lucky you were able to do it at your levels :-D I was/am still at the high 20s (near 30) - so Good job!

@@DarkAngelEU Actually fire causes less damage in the rain but it doesn't totally nullify damage. I've seen damage on things in the rain especially against those frog things and the wolves in Giza plains during the rains - I oil them and fire their asses and they go down in one hit.

This video was such a godsend! I couldn't figure out where the trees were to knock down. After I did that, I went to the save crystal by where Nanau was - so I could have a full quickening bar and went to take care of Gil Snapper - He was easy - A bit easier actaully than the Storm Elementals (just a little lol)...I don't know why the Storm Elementals are so hard or me - The Ice elementals in Paramina Rift were/are easy as pie and I'm like late 20s levels (with Larsa being like 32). Now I'm trying to decide if I want to try to take on either Marilith, AntLion, or Trickster at my levels or wait until I've done a few more things, maybe get another Esper or two lol

@@whiskslim237 Look on guides.gamepressure.com/finalfantasy12/guide.asp?ID=2343 - It's not my site - I just did a google search and it came up but even I need a map to find where all the trees are - They're along the banks by water (as it's only relevant during the rainy season). A beep will play like you're by a treasure chest and when you get by it, it'll say something like whithered tree and offer to have you strike it. It'll then (when you confirm w/ X) say it drifted a certain direction - That direction is supposed to be where the Gil Snapper is but that page should (I didn't check) show you where to find the Gil Snapper too - But even if it doesn't, look in your Clan Primer Hunts page and use your brain and you'll find the bridge created by all the trees when you've knocked down all 6(I believe it's 6, maybe 5, maybe 7) trees. This video we're on too I believe shows how to find the mark too. Good Luck!

For anyone that was the same there's a nice easy way to beat storm elementals. Diamond amulet lightning proof. I had it on 4x speed but still took like 30 mins to kill cause it kept sleeping me but i only took about 20 dmg

@@212mochaman I consider any enemy that takes so long to beat no matter what damage I take, to be hard - Hence that last hunt (I am drawing a blank on the name - Something starting with a 'Y'). I can usually beat Adremmelech in about 10 mins when I do tackle him - usually about level 30 and I use Diamond armlets there but at the end I'll switch back to Cat-Eared Hoods for everyone so I get a ton of gil for the battle with all the undead and Adremmellech. But if it took much longer than 10 mins, I'd wait until I was higher level to beat it - I can usually do most elementals now but it seems some of them like Storm Elementals put up a paling after a while so no matter how much I hit them or attack with an opposing element spell, it does nothing to them. Entites on the other hand are nearly impossible for me even when I'm at like level 70 going after Gnome ENtites and Salamander Entites - I take too much damage and it takes too long to beat then.

I did it after doing a gil grind. Had at least one license board pre esper maxed. 6 quickenings, 4 of em 3 bars. That still wasnt enough. He gets insane bulk with like 5% hp left

Exactly the same issue I'm having now! Petitioned the guy that wants me to kill the him snapper, fell all the trees, go to the new area, the guy that petitioned me even joined my party AND it's raining. So maybe I'm thinking there is two versions of the rain.

just re-zone in and out, try a few more times until the seeq tells you the gil snapper is there, it worked for me

A trick that was advised on another site and I tried it was to set a rubber band on your controller moving "down" and walk away. The party will keep zoning in and out and when the guy tells you that it's there, it'll pause to tell you that - similar to how it pauses when your leader dies and you need to select a new leader. You come back, take the rubber band off, confirm, and go to kill the bastard. It may take 10-15 times but it does work. It annoyed me how many times I had to zone in and out the last playthrough but I love the hunts on the plains. I think it's the gil snapper you get an item of loot you cna use with other stuff to eventually sell to buy the canopic jar monograph. I don't worry about the monographs early on but by the time I go to the Faewood I am trying to buy them all then so I can get the good stuff dropped :-D

You can. Press left bumper (L1 on PS4) I assume it is similar for Xbox and Switch. You can target allies in reserve, Npc's, and enemies. I know this is a month late but just in case you see it.

@@coleredmond8459 As of Patch 1.08: the game crashes more than before! Ever few hours just navigating the menus causes crashes. Re-entering areas causes crashes. Killing Hunt requests and rare game causes crashes! Its really annoying after 20 or so times and I'm just before the Pharos.
