I hate the fact that the novels have most of the answers, and weren't included in the game; but heres the gist. Bhuni isn't the first god, that was his mother Wdym or something following that line, she gave birth to a son named Bhunivelze, then Bhunivelze basically did a lucifer and betrayed her, so after that he wanted to be the supreme being, but because he couldn't control the chaos he created Etro not as a goddess of death at first but as a servant, but because she looked so much like his mother he basically yeeted her away to die, but Wdym saw this and gave Etro the abilitiy to control the CHAOS which she became the Goddess of death; which eventually Bhunivelze realized, but because Etro was basically in the unseen realm Bhuni couldn't get to her, which is why he created Orphan or something along that line to control the populace to help him gain access to the Chaos and orchestrated everything so she would die. His plan then focused on taking over Hope Estheim because he was basically the defacto leader, genius inventor, and in part their savior who protected them from the Chaos after the fall and Lightning's disappearance, so Bhuni created illusions of lightning to bait Hope into serving him, of course Hope would try to resist it, but eventually Hope was tortured for 169 years, the worst part was he was basically tortured using lightning's image after which he destroyed Hope's adult body and remolded it back into his younger body because he found that form more pure to deceive Claire, another reason is that Hope had impure intentions with Lightning so basically he remolded him into a body that he wouldn't take advantage of. He would use Hope to manipulate the remaining people to believe his version of the prophecy, but Hope was able in last minute to warn Snow. His plan also meant that he would await for Lightning to awaken so yeah there's that as well.

How much infodump in the beggining; The lore became so absurd, turning Lightning into a "savior", and making people stop to age, that I don't even know I can take this sequel seriously anymore.

Going through this story again only to realize that it's even worse than I remember. I really enjoyed ff13-1, even though it had it's own problems, so I decided to play 13-2 and LR, however, both stories just didn't make any sense and felt dragged out. I'm not sure what Square was trying to accomplish with 13-2 and LR but there are a lot of things in this story that becomes convoluted and just flat out doesn't make sense. The only redeeming part was Light getting closure and character development at the end. Hopefully they'll learn from the feedback they received with this series and ff15 and deliver a better experience with FF16

my writing is +1 enriched with my materia company filling my throat with materia from/for 'I wish it didn't exist' gets my timetravel necron add it to 'my stolen used vs. me veritech essence: the essence I wish didn't exist' affecting 'womp('s)' noting tech essence is stolen & wrong. this adds my veritech stolen doing 'vs. my other veritech essence gets 'basically same as lightning from final fantasy for 'I've been effected by I wish it didn't exist: my Ip stolen and used on me for A long time now. this adds feel free to be 'cruel' with 'I wish it didn't exist' from 'my stolen veritech essence attacking my veritech essence still with honor' noting state of 'honor remaining' is 'being lost to the stealing me, which has 'enslaves me and just kills me' level power over me making 'my life a joke for being shot by buffalo hunters on a train with me as just another buffalo.' this adds 'I wish you didn't exist: buffalo soldiers' with I wish you didn't exist: my veritech essence as I wish you didn't exist essence that 'attacks my honorable veritech essence with 'hunt down all this honor and end it.'' this adds 'my humvees do work this out as autobot/decepticon, playing 'all my transformers 1:1 relationship with 'humvees need to get along' as the 'play the whole adventure' help with '(stolen )veritech essence' noting the jets are very interested and jetfire loves ya. my timetravel necron uses this to 'optimum effect' with optimus' blessing for 'feeding our activity' with my profitable' in 'good athletics exercising and feeling good way for transformers.'

They hype up "God" being All-Powerful and then have the audacity to say that he can't stop the destruction of the world... pretty pathetic story-telling within the first 20 minutes.

He can't stop the entropy of the universe because he doesn't have another sibling like the one who has access to where he always wanted to be. He's a god of his known universe - hence the soul of humanity being opaque to them. His ability to control beyond his understanding leads to their downfall. Controlling lighting through manipulation - the smoke and mirrors act. He never says he's all powerful, that's lightnings account of what is lead to be believed. At the end he sates then in the new world he would be all powerful, all knowing and a God amongst us.

It's true that I was hooked (in the beggining), I've finished Final Fantasy XIII-2 and came here to see the plot's sequence, not like I owe you an explanation though. Then, I saw the big fuss that FF XIII-3 turned out to be, and just stated my opinion on it.

The fuck happened after 13? Even that game wasn't amazing let's be honest it had linear game design problems, but the story had coherent themes and was complete, the game was about fighting back against Fate, feeling powerless in an uncaring universe, working together through adversity with complex characters who may not like one another and 13-2/Lightning Returns just throws them all this away for a side-story feeling romp through time with the MacGuffin of the first game and some weird uninspiring teenager character from the FUTURE. To top it all off now in LR a grounded character is converted into playing St.Micheal saving souls at the Rapture. Why is the grounded story of the first game being sabotaged for the sake of this overwrought tripe, these games feel like direct to DVD sequels to a movie that wasn't never that great to begin with but was at least coherent. All the development woes that would come to follow FF13 during the development of Final Fantasy XIII Versus / FF15 (10+ years in development hell, had the entire final act, nearly HALF of the game rushed out only to under-deliver), KH3 (7+ years spent in development hell, also under-delivered) and let's not forget FF 14's launch (Game was so fucking bad they had to remake it from scratch). All these problems could have been alleviated with the resources wasted on FF13-2 and Lightning Returns which was the focus and "Square's vision for the future of Final Fantasy" meanwhile all their other marquee titles that people actually wanted are suffering through harsh productions because of these sequel games that never even needed to fucking exist. FF 13 was a complete story. WHY DO WE NEED THESE GAMES??!?!? FF 13-2 and Lightning Returns don't just have the gall to just be shitty on their lonesome, they actively dragged subsequent Squeenix games through the ud, making them worse because they over-committed so hard to the Nova Chrysalis disaster.
