@@JackgarPrime There is a sort of succession war happening in the region so the (ex) scions find themselves divided probably supporting different individuals succession to the throne. I don't think that will be the 'cause of the main conflict but nevertheless it will bring some tension within the team. I think moving forward they need to set up a big bad (similar to Ascians/Zodiark/Empire). I mean even if they don't threaten to destroy the world this expansion, at least we will be introduced to them and see the bad guys lay down some ground work towards it. But meh...all speculation. I'm excited to wait and see!

Well I don’t know if asmon reads these, but a realm reborn to endwalker is one huge arc broken into chapters(the expansions). Dawntrail is the start of a new arc that yoshi-p wants to extend for another 10 years if I recall right.

I think the reason why it feels like "no stakes" is that we just finished a saga and now the WoL is deserved a vacation and everyone else in the party. It's only to lift everyone up and to make us feel like were at our strongest, only in the end it starts to crumble and us getting beat down. I'm thinking A New Hope - Empire Strikes Back.

They did say that the Ascian storyline ended with Endwalker and most of the loose ends have been resolved in this expac. So Dawntrail is pretty much a second ARR where they start a new storyline altogether.

The in-game graphics are quite different from the pre-rendered cinematics and there's settings to scale it back quite a bit. Your computer would probably be fine, but the good news is they let you play the entire base game and the first 2 expansions for free so if you're ever interested in trying it out and seeing how your computer does it won't cost you a cent.

The three new jobs look quite nice. I didn't know Pictomancer was a thing back in Final Fantasy VI. I completely forgot that. At first, I thought it was a unique job for FFXIV, like the viper. I am curious how the new limited-job beast master will be. I hope it's some kind of Pokémon class. Catch monsters and do battles against NPCs and other players.

Viper is not a unique job to FFXIV. If I recall it is based on Zidane’s class from FF9.

They released it in 3 versions, one for each FanFest. Each one gets progressively longer and includes more details. (second one added the sequences with the viper class, meaning the dual swords; this one added the pictomancer and the reveal of the female hrothgar at the end)

*Spoiler* up to end game All the ARR bullet point conflicts have had their loose ends tied up. The instability between the beast tribes and their primal summons, Ascians plans, Ala Mhigo, and Doma Refugees, Garlemald Aggression. Only a hand full of issues from the later expansions have content that I think needs further explanation or exploration. Such as The Burn and there area around Eden along with the barrier we erected to stop Garlemald in the Burn. For the most part though Emet told us to go to Mysidia or however it's spelled so likely we're going to be learning of more of their plans. For after they merged the source and the reflections as to how they were going to unsunder the people they lost.

you gotta play shadowbringer man, that was one of the best story arks i ever played no mmo even comes close to it, the characters and big villain are just MMMMMmmm "chefs kiss" so good, Endwalkers was also very good the final main story fight still gives me goosebumps it was such a crescendo after such a long journey

It's such a packed expansion trailer! I wish blizzard dedicated more capacity to their WoW cinematic team and shown more locations/scenes rather than the rather minimalistic cinematics we were receiving mostly.

Blizzard cinematics--the expansion trailers--are also of higher quality in terms of visual fidelity and cinematography, meaning each frame takes longer and more resources to render--thus some trade offs in terms of location variety are inevitable.
