Had no idea deadly takedown worked on enemies with no will gauge like the Chocobo

Chocobos and a few others are weird in that they're like, semi-will-gauge-havers? They don't have a displayed gauge but they'll have some superarmor by default and be immune to launching, knockdowns or pulls (so get Deadly Takedown'd instead of pulled if semi-staggered), but after you deal enough damage (analogous to their invisible will gauge maybe?) they become fully juggleable like basic enemies. There's a few mid-to-lategame enemies that function like that. Should be how all enemies work if you ask me.

Do you know what affects Zantetsuken gauge buildup? I've noticed that at NG endgame sometimes a full Dancing Steel (with the accessory to increase gauge gain) fills up the gauge from zero to lv5, but sometimes it just misses out.

Make sure you upgrade it. Other than that just practice it
