Keep in mind that even greatly aged and weakened, Ultima retains all fraction of the power of all Eikons. It's not possible for a single dominant to beat him. Clive had to absorb all Eikonic powers to have a remote chance.

I love Yoko Shimomura, but she doesn't put out nearly enough music anymore. KH-3 an FF-15 are great examples, she maybe has 30 songs altogether in the entirety of both those games and to be honest it feels more like 10. FF-16 is my first Soken game and there is so much music in this game that I am dying of happiness, it seems like he tripled or quadrupled what Yoko has done in her last 2 or 3 games. I actually still really like all her new music, and her PS2 era stuff is literal legend on Ueamatsu levels at times. It might not even be her fault that she only writes 3 songs per game now, it could be some mandate or maybe she's partially retired like Uematsu, which is totally fine. I guess after FF 15 which at launch was a huge disappointment to me, and KH 3 which was also a huge disappointment again, and she was the main composer for those two games and they had so little music compared to what 16 has just done.

Dion was a great character that I wished we got more downtime with, like as a party member and specific quests for him. We also never saw how he looks semi primed. I believe he is the strongest dominant outside Clive just based on all his feats. The zettaflare was mothercrystal amp though. Still, under his own power he stood up to Ultima to the point Ultima had to actually put true effort into overwhelming him. His will is super strong, too, as it was stated that when Clive takes the power of a dominant, should they even manage to prime, chances are they will lose themselves like Benedikta. Also, he gets bonus points for one of the very few human characters that doesn't use a sword. I found it so annoying that almost everyone used swords in the game.

Also I've always wondered why bother bringing your weapon when you are priming/semi, then I see what happened to Kupka who got dis-armed (hehe) and realized you can't just go without weapon or you'll be defenseless after priming.

0:32 does a considerably good job of conveying just how out of your depth you may be. Just screams that you're not fighting to beat a god, you're fighting to survive against a god. Then during all of it, you see the health bars come up, then you suddenly remember you need the combined might of THREE Eikons (including one who whooped your ass in base form) to stand a chance. Then there's the fact that after every failed attack and Ultima's counterattack, the song suddenly sounds hopeless again.

I absolutely love the use of the instrument theming here, because it sounds like the earlier Ultima fight themes, with Ultima's part using the same familiar melody, but Clive's part being bolstered by the instruments for both Joshua and Dion, to the point that the combined symphony of power completely eclipses Ultima's part once Tri-disaster begins, and then they also swell again more heroicly with Dion's taking center stage when he makes his big sacrifice, only for it to get overpowered by Ultima's theme at the end.

​@Nico35454 The way the story is delivered is pretty similar: slow and deliberate with huge emotional payoffs. The later expansions utilized more cinematic camera angles like in XVI. The gameplay is more focused on dodging AOEs (like you see in Titan and Ultimalius) while doing a rotation of cooldown abilities. I recommend it, but it's a slow burn type of game; there's a reason so many XIV players say, "It gets good after you get to Heavensward(first expansion)" You can play most dungeons solo (soon to be all), and the community is extremely welcoming to new players.

I know the ending fight sort of did that through Clive but it still would have been nice to see all the Eikons going toe to toe against Ultima.
