I have to wonder if we could program a cut scene like that into an 8-bit program. Just that, at any point in combat you could press select+start to activate limit break and give yourself a buff for like 3 turns. Activate it right before taking a big attack to reduce the damage or increase your chances of evading the attack, and then punish the enemies
