How someone becomes a dominant is explained but its mainly thru Harpocrates and different entries. Its stated that each dominant is born from the descendants of an elemental Motes, ancient tribes who lived close to the mother crystals and took on their traits. Some tribes, like the motes of Fire, chose to very carefully breed their dominants so the Phoenix remained in the ducal line like how Elwin and Anabella are cousins. Others like the Light tribe did it to a lesser extreme aka Bahamut tends to be born to a few royal houses. But most simply have diluted over time, the "eikon gene" is in everyone who is loosely descended from said tribe which sometimes can mean anyone in any country; so you can't control where a Dominant is born. Like how Shiva can be born to a random girl from a random tribe, her being the princess of the North was a coincidence or Titan awoke in a footsoldier, etc. The Fallen were not Ultimas or Ultimas race they were a civilization of humanity created by Ultima just like everyone else. However when they gained free will by accident they eventually developed a mastery over magic and created their great civilizations in the sky. Airships were literally flying cities. However, everything that looks like fallen ruins is not. Namely Reverie where you fight Odin, and the Apodytery beneath Phoenix Gate are actually ruins built by the Ultima people. They look so similar to Fallen civilization ruins because the Fallen were trying to copy the gods aka Ultimas. And you can kind of see this if you really pay attention to both, Fallen having like circular patterns and Ultimas being more sharp. So 2 different ancient people, I can kinda see how you can get them mix up if you don't read entries or look at details. Also jill lost her ability to turn into a eikon, she could force herself to become but then she would be stuck as Shiva. So that's why they left her behind. Also i dislike how you like "the good guys are just good guys" ignoring how every hated them for destroying the mother crystals and the story is like "well your ruining peoples lives but if the crystals aren't destroyed then then all the magic/Aether in the world would be gone and everyone dies from monsters". Then you later find out, hay Ultima is using the mother crystals to gather Aether to cast a spell killing every and using all the Aether to create a new world for his kind free from the blight however the spell needs a vessel to channel said Aether but Ultima cant just create a vessel so he made mankind for the sole reason for manifesting a vessel aka Mythos. So you need to kill Ultima to stop this from happening also by the way free will was a mistake. Also the blight is a result of overdrawing on the planets life force or aether through use of magic. Since most of civilization used magic for almost any inconvenience, it started to add up pretty quickly. Clive made the decision he did at the end, so he could save the world and give future generations the opportunity at a life, one that was unburdened by magic or birth-based status quo. Sorry if this seems rude or not as in-depth for somethings was bored and found your video so decide to make a quick little comment.

MEDICINE GIRL MVP OF THE STORY 👏👏 I really enjoyed your summary and your comments were so funny but also so TRUE. Especially on the characters. So much missed potential like I don't even feel Clive was completely utilized. I enjoyed the game... kinda. I'll always enjoy a game, I'll always enjoy a final fantasy, but this one just didn't really fullfill anything more for me. I don't think the dlc is enough to bring me back, but I'm sure they'll add more value and lore to the game

So, I’m very much an FF Stan, and tbh, every Final Fantasy game I’ve played, I love (albeit some more than others). Final Fantasy XV is my favorite, and XVI ranks around the middle out of all the ones I’ve played. Dion was my favorite out of everyone, and I also really like Jill and Joshua. Clive and Jill’s romance was really sweet imo and their last side quest where she makes a flower garland for him made me emo 😭. The Twinside portion of the game with the Bahamut fight was my favorite part. I was SEATED!!!!! Gasping at the TV and everything when Dion murdered his Dad lol. That whole section is some of my favorite FF stuff. Ah, also, I wanted to mention, I don’t think Dion is adopted. He is a bastard child, I think…his mother was a sewer rat on the streets of Oriflamme that his father got pregnant, but they kept it a secret and once Dion was born they murdered his mother and then pretended the King’s wife was his actual mom. That’s why Anabella Rosfield hated him and considered him the wrongful heir of Bahamut. She considered him déclassé because of his birth mother’s status. Idk if you felt this way, but since playing the game I’ve thought about Jill’s section with her wanting revenge with Imrann (the leader dude who did a bunch of bad shit) from the Iron Kingdom and I kind of feel…conflicted about it? The reason why is because I thought about that section in the game in relation to Dimitri’s storyline in Azure Moon and how he goes rabid for revenge against Edelgard, but Byleth is able to help pull him out of it and that supplements his excellent character arc as well as creates a poignant moment at the end where Edelgard throws the dagger Dimitri gave her to force him to kill her. What I gleaned from Dimitri’s arc was that revenge is vapid and never gets you anywhere no matter how bad or evil the other person is. All it does is create a hole in your soul, but in FFXVI, it’s like a fleeting moment for Jill to kill Imrann get her revenge and then boom, that’s it for her. Like I understand Imrann did disgusting shit and I’m not saying the dude shouldn’t have died, but it just makes me wonder if they could’ve or should’ve gone about it differently. Like maybe imprison him or something? Idk? 😭 Cause I feel like it’s hypocritical of me to be like “Oh yeah, Dimitri’s arc is touching BECAUSE he’s able to overcome his thirst for revenge,” but then cheer on Jill to murder the shit out of Imrann and get revenge. Idk if that makes sense lol! I know Jill doesn’t necessarily carry as much weight in the story as Dimitri does in Azure Moon, but idk I just thought about that. Oh also, regarding the combat, I found myself using Shiva, Bahamut, and Odin’s abilities the most! While I do agree with you that Phoenix’s warp and Garuda’s grab are useful, I found that using a combo of Shiva, Bahamut, and Odin’s abilities helped me maximize my damage during a stagger phase. When I did NG+, I kept mostly their abilities (with 1 Ifrit ability and 1 Ramuh ability). I’m not sure how I feel about that because for me personally, it renders the other Eikons useless. It would’ve been cool if there were elemental weaknesses like in most other FF titles so other Eikons could shine too. I also wish we had a group party!!! Kinda like VII Remake or at least XV. The VII Remake combat system is top tier and Rebirth seemingly is going to make it even better 😩. I hope the devs at Square just standardize that for all future FF titles. Like XVI’s combat isn’t bad…but man, VIIR’s combat is just SO good. I’m so excited for that game like…Aerith SINGING?!?!? Idk how I’m gonna contain myself for another month 😭 I also wish Clive wouldn’t have died at the end. Especially considering the last mainline title had the protagonist die it’s like damn…AGAIN?!?! Like chill y’all 😭 and I personally don’t feel it was as well done as Noctis’s in XV. The amount of death in XVI was a bit much. Ok sorry I’ve written so much 😭 I always have so many thoughts I want to express!!! Great job on this vid and your commentary is humorous, yet dignified. You strike a good balance!

I considered getting this game if I ever own a system it’s on lol, but after watching this I honestly don’t feel I need to! I was kinda intrigued by the premise and trailers, but I wasn’t exactly gagging… maybe this one just isn’t for me, it’s not like I’m much of a Final Fantasy fan. I’m more of a Kingdom Hearts girlie, and a jrpg fan like Bravely Default, Dragon Quest XI, Octopath Traveler, etc… So curious about medicine girl though

• Not to spoil but the individual who went belly up should’ve stayed that away. I feel like they wanted us to have a heart warming moment when the 2 met but I didn’t feel that way.. I was just confused. • The mom’s storyline should’ve been written better. • Benedikta was such a baddie who was purposely and undeservingly killed off. • Jill and Torgal should’ve been a controllable character. • The use of people turning into stones to depict a real life problem really makes me wonder if that message truly came across to that base. • I appreciate the gay media though because it was equal(?) opportuned. We had to witness another (another because watch any action movie) straight sex scene so it was nice having a gay kissing scene at least. Love for all ♥️ I could go on but I don’t wanna draft up a whole book and I think you pretty much hit the nail on most parts.
@sylphiemk9 ай бұрын
Yes to all of this, especially the lack of a controllable party!! I was hoping for something more like FF7R or tales of arise where you can pretty quickly switch between characters and combat feels snappier, but I guess bc the party changes so often it’s trickier to achieve that

Im all here to bash the plot of the game. The bearer’s stupidity (them becoming so submissive doesnt make sense. Theres that lore saying they have beaten to submission because of generational slavery. But some of the bearers are born from normal family? And if phoenix able to grant power, cant the other dominion do the same? How op your military would be if you have everyone have power. Sure they will die eventually but they will be and more useful of a power than using it as a fridge and treating them like crap lol). And just a bunch of wtf decision… The many cop out (the stupid opening where clive believed it was not him even though the audience already know it was him and theres not even a twist) I also think it is shameful that square enix was late and maybe unable to have dragon’s dogma battle system, despite having the same battle designer. DD’s pawn system and the whole battle is so engaging and perfect for an rpg game, especially for FF. Anyway your vid got recommended in my feed and so I am here. Im all for hating this game. I got hooked and then sinked… so badly. CBU3 ended up making an offline mmo instead of a proper rpg.
