I think the thing with "Andore" is that that is how the name "Andre" would be said in Japanese. アンドレ. ア = A ン = n ド = do レ = re So the pronunciation would sound like "on-doe-ray."

I actually beat Final Fight on SNES, it was a nerfed port, but it was pretty challenging. Best version was actually the Sega CD, it was very close to the arcade game, actually had an exclusive survival mode to it, and the soundtrack arrangements were amazing.

To clear things up for you guys, Final Fight Guy was a blockbuster exclusive released as a Final Fight SNES remake which replaces Cody with Guy. Final Fight Guy isn’t super rare and is pretty cheap if the cartridge is lose, it’ll run you about $25. But new in box, it goes for about $1,000.

Fun fact, Yoshinori Ono, producer of Street Fighter since 1998, was a huge fan of Final Fight even before he started working at Capcom, in an interview he said: “I spent quite a lot of money on Final Fight and Street Fighter II at the arcade. Now I want to earn it back by working at Capcom!” Since I have been working at Capcom for over a quarter of a century now, I am sure I got that money back [laughs].

Andore being renamed Hugo in Street Fighter III, with Poison as his manager, and doing a parody of the Andre/Hulk Hogan thing when he fights Alex was always the best. The radiation-coat guy is also in the background of Birdie's stage in Street Fighter Zero 2. I always wished they'd put Haggar into a Street Fighter game.

The Simpsons and X-men had IP's that were all owned by other companies on consoles so Konami couldn't get the rights to release games on those. On personal computers Simpsons Arcade did release which is why we have Simpsons on C64.

8:17 Being able to attack other players is all about it being an arcade. Interplayer damage... -Makes the game harder, increasing the player investment to complete. -Makes it possible to beat up another player to oust them from play and get your awaiting friend on with you.

The "Sword Guy" SODOM has a simple yet real pain in the ass timing. When you knock him down and pick up the sword, you have to hit him just as he starts to charge but hasn't started moving. If you time it right, you'll knock him down, he'll stand, start to charge, hit him with the sword, it'll knock him back down. The timing is insane though so get ready to get Simon's Quest mad trying to get it down. When you do though you can beat SODOM without getting hit. GOOD LUCK!!!

When I played this game, my mom would ask me why Haggar would sit on people (his piledriver) and eat out of trash cans (health boosts, weapons and points boosts for extra lives), and why the bad guys would throw up when you defeated them haha! When Final Fight 2 came out, my mom was HILARIOUS when we played together. She called Haggar 'Captain Bra-strap' and when we played, she would say 'I wanna be Captain Bra-strap!' She would get really aggressive and ask why you couldn't just pick up the lead pipe and shove it down their throats 😝 Then she would do his spin punch over and over and lose health while knocking down the bad guys and start laughing and I'd warn her not to overuse it, and then a bad guy hit her once, Haggar would 'die' and she'd say "OH SH$T!" 😂

All in the Family was like pre Married with Children. I feel that is where they got the idea but now those shows would not work because they were really not politically correct. I kind of miss a lot of 80s shows and I wonder if I could watch whole seasons of each of the shows from the whole story line because all I did was watch reruns all in different order when I was a kid. Sucks that they don't have a whole service like Netflix all for just seasons of shows of the 70s, 80s and 90s.

Rez Terralico It really is so good, and the fact they don’t treat all the women as helpless mcguffin’s waiting to be saved but perfectly normal humans who have their own story that happens to intersect with the main narrative for periods of time makes me respect it even more so. The rivalries between the various cast members intersect in such interesting ways (some of which driven by Haruo’s obliviousness, which I can totally relate to). And that’s before we get to all the nostalgia I have for this era of gaming. I can remember so much of this era, and yet it feels like Haruo would trounce me at my peak without breaking a sweat. The amount of love that goes into those little references shows how much the creators have for 90’s (and 80’s) gaming as a whole.
