Oh my gosh, this made me so sad! I did love that you covered it though, and it was nice that unlike the MD-88 retirement flight, you had amazing flight attendants! Honestly, I don’t have a great track record with Delta, they’ve lost a bag, broke a bag, canceled flights for no reason, etc., but dang did they do excellent! DL would be my favorite airline if they would let the people on this flight do the training!😸😻😸

All Angela's Galaxy members heard about the news about the Delta 777 retirement, and 25 minutes before landing at LAX, all 44 members as well as all passengers and crew onboard the Delta Airlines 777 sang, "Na na na na, na na na na, hey hey hey, goodbye!" Multiple times. It was so catchy that Stella, in which Kade Ursus calls Stell, was told to sing along with Justin and Kayla! Even the children sang! Later on, they sang the goodbye song while landing at LAX, and everyone joined Stell and Kade as they sang it in perfect harmony, but 2 semitones higher. And Sultz sang the so long song from Blue's Clues, and everyone on the plane said "We Can Do Anything, That We Want To Do!!!" in unison before de-planing for the last time. I have a couple Delta 777 models in my plane collection, still.
@jasonmoors11914 жыл бұрын
Am surprised you didn't join the avgeek crowd presumably at the In and Out restaurant,to film the 777's final takeoff at sunset. What a privilege to be able to be on the tarmac,up close and personal! Since you exited the LAX terminal,were you going to do some sightseeing and overnight before heading home?
@jjohn713 Жыл бұрын
I understand why Delta decided to go with fleet commonality but with the 777 being a workhorse a/c for long distance and higher payloads, didn't expect them to do that right away. Wasn't surprised with the MD retirements but those were fun to fly on. End of an era with Delta I guess as we see more Airbus come in and take over.
@suprensa43934 жыл бұрын
I know this sounds a bit ridiculous but I am just rubbed the wrong way by Delta retiring their 777s early rather than their 767s. The 777s are so much more efficient, quiet, and comfortable and the 767s would make terrific freighters but nope, down with the 777 it is. It seems like such a waste of great planes.
@ryanfrisby73894 жыл бұрын
I’m so glad I’m not the only one who immediately thought this when the news was announced! I’m sure it has some to do with there growing fleet of box standard (though admittedly better for the airline and non AV geeks) A350s! Since they don’t really have a newer aircraft that’s comparable to the 767, that’s probably why! With the new absolutely awesome A220, I doubt the 717 (MD-95) will be around much longer on DL, but at least they aren’t going anywhere with Hawaiian!😸
@suprensa43934 жыл бұрын
@@ryanfrisby7389 Very much indeed. A330s and A350s are fine, but scrapping 777s over 767s when the 767s are older and more inefficient is just not right.
