Are these games stand alone? Can I play any of the Final Girls games if I don't have the core game, or how this works?

You need the core game + at least one feature film expansion. Each feature film usually comes with one location, one baddie and 2 final girls. If you have more than one feature film, you can mix and match to your liking. ETA: Playmat used here is a separate purchase.
