Hi Pragya, I've been selected in the H1b lottery this year. Unfortunately, My passport has been damped due to minor water damage and the Indian government seal has been smudged. Also the Passport pages have been curled as a result of water damage. However, the 2 pages containing my personal information is all good and legible. I went on to nearest passport office and they advised to get the passport re issued. But the new reissued passport would contain a new passport number with a reference to the old passport number and the reason for re issue in the last page. Will this be an issue moving forward? Please tell me how to approach this potential issue.

Get a new passport. While filing your H1B your old as well as new passport number will be quoted so you should e good.

Hi Pragya, My company submitted my H1B petition on last year November. But still it's not approved. Only the USCIS receipt number is received. May I know how long it will take for the petition to get approved ?
