Aghayev is a legend, I remember when I was 14 years old the national Portuguese team was having an internship and Aghayev was the currently champion of the world (Tokyo 2008) he was the sensei instructor, we were practicing a kumite exercise when he got in front of me and explained to me how to do it , he suddenly made a kisame tsuki out of nowhere and I was simply speechless with the speed of the punch, I could not even see what he had just done, it's incredible how he manages to be in high level competitions for so long , no doubt that will be in the history of the sport, oss!

Welp, after you think you score a point in wkf karate you dont need to worry about the opponent to attack you anymore. Hence the "looking around" it is to see the judges flags, so they can see which one gets the point. Kinda sad to be honest, no Zanshin(its like awareness to your enemy and surrounding n never losing focus) Thank god, Raphael did fight in Karate Combat, he is pretty good. Karate Combat is this fancy pit fight, it is full contact karate, they also allow hit to the head. But some rules are weird tho, cant help it since it is new.

It's not about the blood that people want. How about decent technique with hip movement and whole weight of the body transfer through feet. This is just jumping unbalanced nonsense. They barely throw kick because they can't do it. They run back 90% of the time instead of stepping sideways. And even the punches seem like they wouldn't do any damage at all. It got mainstream (WKF) and WKF is the reason why people today think that karate is useless and I do not blame them. For me looking at this is just sad.

It's not 3 points it's whatever punch it was and it was a stomach punch but I think they didn't count it because there was a bit of confusion

Rafael went down too and had to get up to throw an icomplete tsuki. That means 2 things. Firstly, the follow up was not immediate after the takedown. Secondly, no full range of motion on the tsuki means that the punch lacked the appropriate form and ultimately the impact criteria was not met. Even though it's semi-contact, karateka need to semonstrate the effectiveness of their own techniques without having to injure their opponents.
