Final Mass is Sunday at historic Uptown Catholic church

Hundreds of people are expected to gather Sunday at a historic Catholic church in Uptown on the city's North Side to celebrate its final Mass. Parishioners, meanwhile, are still trying to save the church from closure. Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, located at 4640 North Ashland Avenue, is holding its final Mass at 1 p.m. Sunday. The 108-year-old church is known for its grotto, a replica of the famous Grotto of Our Lady of Lourdes in France. The grotto in Uptown opened for 24 hours, seven days a week in 1992 and attracts many visitors.

Oh No!! 😔😢 That's so sad. Don't tell me that they want to build more buildings there? Why on sacred ground because to me where there's a Church it's sacred and shouldn't be demolished. LORD intervene so they won't close the doors to that church.
