Funnily enough I picked up a cheapo pack from Homebase last week and was pleasantly surprised at how plush and soft they were. I will try and find out the brand.

+ForensicDetailngChannel the rag company/the rag master says that the lower gsm blue minx is better this is what they said When the Minx originally came out, the Blue & Yellow had the same GSM. However, with extra feedback, we found that the Minx was even *better* if we lowered the GSM a little bit, which made it feel even softer & more malleable. The blues sold quicker than the yellows, so the inventory of blues cycled into the new GSM batch while the yellows continued with the higher density. Once the remaining yellows cycle through, they'll be the same as the blues again.

You do like your microfibres John! I have upgraded all mine earlier this year after finding your channel. Favourites for buffing are Korean edgeless from in2detailing. Love the Drinker drying towel too.

The rag company edgeless minx is a very nice towel. The yellow has a higher gsm vs blue (450 vs 380) and rivals the eagle, but with a different nap. Its also about 40% cheaper, near creature priced, but much nicer IMO.

I hear you on getting organized and trim down the number of different towels. I must have 20-25 different kinds of towel and I never learn which is best for whatever task I need them for. I just can't help myself when I see the latest and greatest and have to buy at at least 3-5 just to try them out, resulting in a few that I use for everything, and a lot that hardly ever get used at all. One thing I've noticed is that a towel that performs great on my car (2005 Ford Explorer) doesn't work for my wife's car (2014 Hyundai Tucson) at all, leaving lint everywhere. If I could only have one towel I would go with the Gold Plush Jr. Not sure who makes it, but they sell it everywhere.
@ForensicDetailing7 жыл бұрын
It can be more about whats on the car. Ive noticed some waxes can really pull fibers from split pile cloths. But something like an acrylic sealant has a really smooth silky slidey finish wont do it. problem I have is I go and discover a towel and I just like it and then my consolodated "thing" goes up the wall. Ive already bought a load of rag master 360 edgless and in2detailing 350 yellow open piles. I think its never ending :(

not as drynig towels mate no.. too small. If you want small drying towels get the in2detailing supersarus I think they are in my master list of products in the description. carpro used to do a similiar small green drying towel but its a lot more expensive. Boa lights are awesome but for polish or wax buffing not for drying.

Another excellent video, thanks. However, the prices you quote for the Paragon cloths are way out. Your link goes to Amazon where they are £12.52 for 10 + £4.25 for delivery, so £1.68 EACH !! On the Paragon Website they are 67 p each for 10 but this is ex vat and postage, so the actual price for 10 with delivery is £14.04, so £1.40 EACH, not the 67 pence as you say they are. I know you say one needs to add postage on top of the prices, but saying they are 67 pence each is quite misleading, especially when this price does not include VAT.
@ForensicDetailing7 жыл бұрын
fair point ali good info.. I ordered a load of stuff from paragon.. so the delivery cost was kind of less significant with the bundle. but VAT needs to be added. but 67p plus VAT per towel.. still pretty damn good price.

Hello. I found this great video about microfibre cloth at my youtube home. Lucky. Hehe I had watched some video saying that we have to use microfibre to wash our car so there qont be any swirls on the paint. If i may, i would like to ask, do microfiber really that soft so that it dont give any swirls on car paint.? Or do you want to make a test? What do you think?
@ForensicDetailing5 жыл бұрын
hi alvin microfiber hardness varies.. The more polymide the softer it is. clearcoat hardness varies. The harder the microfiber and the softer the clearcoat the more likely it is to marr from the microfiber. When you polish clearcoat you heat it up and soften it and you also expose it to solvents in the polish (sometimes) this can soften clearcoat even more meaning its more prone to marring when detailing a car. In short there are millions of factors.. dirty and contamintion in the microfiber cloth are often the biggest causes of scratches rather than the microfiber itself. For the most part automotive clearcoat is hard enough that most of this discussion is not that relevent but there are exceptions to these where it becomes relevent..
@alvinlawanto5 жыл бұрын
@@ForensicDetailing yes thats right, there are many factor that can make swirl. How about this, the car paint has been compound and polish, but not coated yet. The car is washed properly, and then dried. If we aplly microfiber (the ultra soft one), does it make swirl?
@ForensicDetailing5 жыл бұрын
alvin I refer you back to the answer I originally gave mate. clearcoat on car could be hard or soft... etc etc.. theres no "generic" answer to your question but to minimuse risk of swirling.. A nice plush 70/30 open pile cloth with high GSM used with nice low pressure will reduce risk. cheers mate.

Love the video, just bought 4 rag company eagle edge less 500. Also got some of their 365gsm terry microfibres. Which would you reccomend for wax and autogylm super resin polish removal?
@ForensicDetailing3 жыл бұрын
either. the new eagle 500 are very very soft and stretchy different towel to the one I show in this video which is an older model. As long as the wax is not too hard curing the, and for SRP, the eagle 500 should be great. if anything is a bit hard curing then use the 365. Also use the 365 for detailing sprays or spray sealants (wet products) the eagles will be a bit too absorbant and stick a bit when water is involved.
@fraforgt-350r23 жыл бұрын

@Squats2005 жыл бұрын
@@ForensicDetailing what does 70/30 mean please as I have the same dash in my Skoda?
@DiegoRodriguez-wj2nb4 жыл бұрын
@@Squats200 It is the % of material that they use in the towel. The first number is polyester (good for cleaning and grabbing dirt) and the second is polyamide (good for absorbing water). Typically, as a general rule, you would use 80/20 towels in the interior as you don't need a lot of water absorption, and 70/30 in the exterior (paint) as they absorb more water and tend to be softer (less likely to scratch if used properly).

Looks like CarPro is discontinuing the Boa's. Say's they have a *Linting* problem on their website. I wonder what they'll replace them with?
@ForensicDetailing7 жыл бұрын
carpro US.. they suggest its a problem with a "batch" so maybe they will sell this batch off cheap and restock.. hope so because these towels are the bomb.. With all this open pile split microfiber.. aka the plush soft stuff.. all of them can be prown to doing it... its wierd. sometimes you get a load of towels and they are strong and dont lint, sometimes you get one and it lints.. and you think is it the product on the paintwork doing it? Is it the solvent in the products weakening the microfiber as they sit waiting to be washed, is it contamination, is it overheating in the wash, is it something to do with the manufacturing process... the latest pile of boas I got from craig in carpro UK have been fine..

The carpro boas are not 70/30 even though the majority of websites state they are. I bought 10 of them and received them in the packaging that carpro sends them in (straight from the factory probably). And on the bag from carpro it literally says "blend 80/20". I told the reseller I bought them from (a large uk based distributor) and they answered that the bag was correct and that the were going to change the description on the site. Did they? Of course not. :D
@ForensicDetailing7 жыл бұрын
yer i noticed that as well actually.. that whole 80/20 70/30.. Its never that accurate.. I suspect the exact ratios will never be known and the exact components might be more than just polyster or polyamide (more than 1 of each maybe, or more to it than that).. that being said these towels feel softer than most 80/20 cloths..
@Pierriewargen7 жыл бұрын
Forensic Detailing Channel Yeah, not bashing the cloths for that reason. They feel soft and absorbant. However mine lint like crazy. Tried washing and tumble dry them, but still a lot of linting. I also got a batch where the edge is extremly "crispy". If i stretch the edge a bit it makes a loud cracking sound. Compared to my eagles it's like night and day in terms of both lint and edge cut. Too bad since the cloths are both cheap and feel really soft.

If you count the frame that the micro fibers are woven around the most 70/30 cloths is only 80/20.
