If this was a full season, The ExChange definitely would've won, almost every collegiate group is good early in the competition. Also, the Melodores were more prepared for their song choice because of their selection of singers. SanFran6 & Traces would've probably improved throughout the competition too.

looking back at this show...yes I think the exchange deserves it too ,they should have been the winner ..they were so good and they did a really great job...a bunch of goodies...all the guys are so hot n such sweet n sensational voices....each n everyone ...but I always look at the video n enjoy it...👍

It is truly a shame this season wasn't even three or four performances longer. This group was great. I think the Meladores advantage was having two songs with much different vibes ultimately that helped them edge out The Exchange.

The Melodores were better on the show (in part due to a better, but riskier, song), but I think I'd be more likely to buy an album from these guys.

They weren't better on the show, they were given two songs to show a greater dynamic and the Melodores had the more memorable performance. If you look at both group performances it's obvious that The Exchange sounded better...it all came down to the niche performance. The Exchange is the better group vocally, technically and dynamically but given that it was a 2 hour rush job of stupidty...Melodores just got lucky with bringing things home on the big powerful ballad.

Andrew Balaz Totally agree. I'd add that what really won the event for The Melodores was Dan's performance. It had little to do with the group, They were fine but limited emotionally like most collegiate groups. Dan's vocal filled the emotional piece of the puzzle to such an extent that the judges overlooked that the group dynamic wasn't as strong as The Exchange's.

***** I disagree with the vocalist part. They nailed a lot of the parts. Sure some of it was lacking and they rushed a little. The rapping was "Flawless" as Patrick said and the beat/bass was on point. I agree that the vocals were a tad off, but I would have given it at B+

I loved the Melodores final performance, but I think the Exchange should have won. They have more skill, talent, and are just plain better at arranging

They were outstanding! They should have won, hands down! There should be a limit of max 8 members in a group. These collegent groups come in with 12, 15, 20 members, and they are given the same weight as a group that has only 5 members? Really? Half the group can take a break during their performance and no one would notice. Each vocal part should be one voice per part, not 2 or 3, as the collegent guys do. Sorry. The The ExChange should have won...

There are disadvantages to a big group. There are times where one person messes up and tries to hide behind their partners and being a group means if a few people are off then everybody gets off in their section. With a fewer about of people the risk of that goes down. Season one. Small group won. Season 2. Small group won. Season 3. Small group won. Season 4. Small group won. This is the first season for a large group to win bruh :P

Well, it took 5 seasons for a collegiate group to win :p And I feel like the only reason they won is because they only had 2 performances. If this season were expanded over a couple of more episodes, we'd see if they were truly diverse or a one-trick pony.

Agree. Agree so much. The bass was so on point! The vocalists rocked it and percussionist kept it so together. This is not an easy song and they nailed it. I too believe they really shoulda won.

I just realized that out of EVERY song on all 5 seasons, this is the ONLY song that I haven’t liked and I’m NOT referring to them doing it, I mean I’ve NEVER liked this song when Ed Sheeran sings it & I ALWAYS FF it when it comes up in my song rotation. Even songs that I sort of don’t like by the original artist I have liked when a group did it on the Sing Off, but unfortunately, even the Exchange couldn’t save this song for me, no matter how good they did it! I like a lot of Ed Sheeran songs, but there is just a group of them, and I believe they are mostly all on one album (tho I don’t physically own hard copies of any of his music & don’t always look at which album they came off when I FF my Amazon music), but every one I DID look at came from X (Multiply), tho I like numerous songs off that album too. He was born on my bday, which I find strange, as was Chord Overstreet, who plays Sam on Glee. Ok, so basically, I despise the song choice, but enuf blather from me on this subject!

If anything this sad excuse for a Sing Off just reeks of "Trying to push Pitch Perfect 2". They had the college group win, and Pitch Perfect is based around college groups...soo...this felt hollow and more scripted than anything else.
