Alright, spoiler alert... The Fury has already been to Plymouth and back. Heck, if you live in the northern chunk of the country, there's a nonzero chance you saw it out on one of your local highways, depositing extra minerals behind it as it flew by. Unfortunately, SOMEBODY got an absolutely insane amount of footage out there, so getting road trip videos together is going to take a while. For now, let's take a look at the final repairs and improvements Colin made in the days leading up to the trip.

In late 1977 / early 1978, I bought a 1964 Polara 500 with a 426 Street Wedge and 4 speed. The seller was asking $75, but I got it for $50. It was black with red and white striped interior. I I changed the rear end for a Sure Grip one from a 1965 Coronet, that didn't have bolt-on wheel flanges. The 1964 4 speed transmission was an A833, but had a flange to attach the ball and trunnion driveshaft. I added a single plane, cast iron, two-four barrel intake manifold and carbs. The 426 exhaust manifolds took larger pipes than the 383 manifolds and the 426 took an H-pipe. The Dodge dealer sold new 1967 440 915 cylinder heads for $100 each, but a mail order Mopar parts company called, "Ramchargers" sold new 915, closed chamber heads for $100 a pair, plus shipping. The 426 originally came with plain 516 heads. 1964 was Dodge's golden anniversary, 50th year. It came with a factory installed Hurst shifter.

I love how you are taking an old forgotten car, and not only putting it back on the road, but taking it on an epic trip with your family. I am jealous. I don't have the space at my house for a project of that magnitude (nor tools, skills, motivation 😂😂) so I would have to purchase something already done. I am looking forward to the epic journey! 🥳🥳

ever notice how a '64 Plymouth has a similar kind of raised section that gives an inch or so more height around the perimeter of the front clip as does the '64 Ford rear deck has? And how it was a year or two before these models that Elwood Engle went from Ford to Chrysler as chief designer? Ya, me neither until just now. Fun videos on this car.

Haaahaha. I saw the original 2 hour movie and it was terrible, then I saw the 4 hour Snyder cut. Better, but so long winded. The sweet spot would be re-cutting the Snyder cut to 3 hours by taking out all of the slow motion and tightening things up. That would be just right!

Came back to this vid to ask how well that insulation for floor worked? Thinking about using it in my w150 with rubber flooring. Also (after watching DDG replace fury floor pan for motivation) floor pans were replaced by me over past 3 days and are sealed in STEEL-IT paint that was awesome free. Kinda cool paint actually but it would have not been in picture if it wasnt for a homie. Cheers DDG and Morrison for the paint
@deaddodgebrother
@deaddodgebrother 18 күн бұрын
It worked out great! It's comfortable inside the cab, no exhaust heat etc coming up through the floor. Unless the sun is directly on me/the seat it doesn't get outrageously hot inside, and when it's cold out it stays warm inside... mostly because I don't have a heater shut off valve so there's always heat floating out of the heater. I did the insulation in the video and I also sprang for an extra layer of stuff on the bottom of the carpet when I ordered that. No regrets!

@deaddodgebrother
@deaddodgebrother 22 күн бұрын
Hard to say without looking. Does it honk by itself when you pull up on the wheel? Or do you have to pull on the wheel and hit the horn button? Sounds like the horn button isn't grounding/making contact properly. On the wheel I put in the Fury, the horn honks better if I push the bottom part of the button. It doesn't work as well if I hit the side of it.
